Robyn Anderson walks through four Claude settings that change how the AI works: Memory keeps context between conversations, Web Search pulls current information, Extended Thinking reasons through complex problems, and Voice adds speech input. Turning them on transforms Claude from a static chatbot into a context-aware assistant.

There are 4 settings inside Claude that if you don't have 'em turned on, you may as well just be using a chatbot from 2023. Okay, so let's get into it. These are the 4 settings. I wrote them down so it's easy to see. We have memory, web scraping, extended thinking, and voice. So let me show you what these mean. So you're gonna go to settings and capabilities. If memory is not turned on, you're basically chatting with a new chatbot every time you log in, and that's not gonna get you anywhere. In that same area, area, turn on web search. So out of the box, Claude has a cutoff date of what it has for knowledge. Web search cuts that gap, and so it allows you to go out to the web and get recent information, relevant information past its training date of knowledge. Number 3, extended thinking, is one of the models in here. So you just click this, you're going to hit effort, and you can see thinking right here. This one tells Claude to slow down and actually reason before it answers. We don't want it on for everything because 'cause it makes simple stuff really slow. But for the moments that matter, pricing decisions, a hard client email, this is a really great thing to flip on. Number 4 is voice. You can just click this to record, and now it's listening to me right now. So those are the 4 things that'll completely change how you work inside Claude. I'm just giving you kind of like the high level. If you want the full training, I give you a week free inside Club Jam. You can comment AI below or check out my link in bio and go see us there.
