Robyn Anderson shows four ways to avoid hitting Claude's usage limits. Use smaller models like Sonnet for routine work and save Opus for complex tasks. Start fresh chat threads instead of extending long conversations, which forces Claude to reprocess everything. Summarize old chats and paste them into new ones. Use Projects to store resumes and job descriptions so you don't re-upload them.

Congratulations, you finally moved from ChatGPT to Claude. Now, I just hosted 4 sessions on Claude training today, and everyone has the same complaint. They're hitting their usage limits way too soon. So let me show you 4 ways that you can cut back on using usage limits. Number 1, use Sonnet or Haiku. You don't need to use Opus all the time. That's like bringing your big brain into things like creating a grocery list. You don't need that. Only use Opus when you really need that strategic partner. Number 2, start new chats. So if you're having these 3-day-long conversations, every time you put something into that thread, it's going back and reading those hundreds of messages to make sure that it's up to date on what you're talking about. So start new chats and it'll save your usage. Number 3, if you're in a long chat and you realize this is happening, you can actually ask Claude to summarize the chat and then bring that summary into your new chat. So a good way to do number 2 and number 3 at the same time. Number 4, use projects. Projects help Claude kind of keep these chats organized. And so if you are, for instance, like applying for a job, you can have it in a project where your resume lives, right? So you won't have to upload your resume every single time that you're going to upload the job description. It's right there in that project. Hand, it'll already see all these other jobs that you applied for, and it'll help you write that cover letter and resume exactly the way that you want it without repeating yourself in your prompts multiple times.
