Startup founders should download their LinkedIn contacts, segment by industry and role, then run targeted outreach sequences to reactivate dormant relationships. Reference the existing connection, explain what your startup does, ask if it fits their priorities, and offer help. Systematic reconnecting creates more chances for unexpected opportunities.

A lot of your job as a startup founder is just to create magic out of thin air. And there's endless cold emails, kind of cold emails, warmish emails, whatever that might be. But the more opportunities for opportunity is really what scales you. It's kind of those chance interactions, those things. If you go back at all these successful startup founders, they will tell you elements of luck that just change the game for them. Just something lucky just happened to happen at the right time for a chance meeting, a chance opportunity. So I think you've got to be in the opportunity business and you've got to always be open to that and creating that. One of the easiest ways of doing that is if you're kind of had a little bit of a career and you're not coming just straight in out of college or whatever it is, and you have a bit of a connection Group on LinkedIn of different jobs you've been at, people you've been at, things you've done. There is no reason not to download that entire list, emails and all, and just reconnect. Obviously you've got to segment that list, organize that list. So it's not just one mass email to someone you connected to on last.
Tuesday, but you can organize it by.
Vertical, by industry, by job role, by anything.
And you can then send those mass emails out.
Or you can use like sequences and HubSpot to be one to one and more specific using lists.
But why wouldn't you. It's not actually a cold email. Hey, we're connected on LinkedIn. Love to introduce you to reintroduce you.
To what we're doing.
If this aligns with any of your 2023 priorities, or if you see an.
Opportunity, we'd love to connect.
Let me know how I might be able to help you this coming year.
It's easy, it's quick and it's not.
Super cold, but you've got all of these contacts you've probably made on LinkedIn.
That you've never connected with, never reached out to, and probably have been dormant for years.
