Master your morning, master your life. If you want to reduce stress, if you want to get in shape, if you want to level up your finances, you want better relationships, more joy, then master your morning and master your life. I want to share with you three incredible ways to supercharge your morning. And we all know we look to those people around us and sometimes they might be role models, they might be authors, they might be celebrities, athletes, but they've got this amazing high performance Persona and they achieve so much in a day, in a year, in a decade. And we wonder how they do it. Well, guys, the one thing they have in common is that they have an amazing morning routine. And I'll add to that, they have an amazing early morning routine. Early is the word. Getting up before the sun rises, that is the time when the world is quiet. It offers you some solitude. It gives you an opportunity to connect with yourself in this busy world. We're getting pulled in so many directions. Notifications left, right and center. Expectations to be great parents, great leaders, you know, great innovators, great side hustlers. There's all these expectations on us, a lot of pressure. So getting up in the morning, it means it gives you a place where you're distraction free, away from the digital craziness. People won't be calling you at 5:00am in the morning, people won't be emailing you. Then you will have time to yourself. And some of you might be thinking, well look, I am a night owl. I do my best work at night. I like to stay up late at night. I'm not till midnight. Well, I'm going to challenge you on that. Do you really do your best work at night? Are your habits at night really amazing or do you tend to binge on a little bit of Netflix, popcorn and vino or a few cheeky beers? I want to challenge you on the quality of your night. Because what you do at your night and through that nighttime routine, that really dictates how your morning's going to pan out. If you're up till midnight drinking booze, 5am is not going to happen very well, is it? So I want you to think about what your excuses might be as to why you might not do it early morning. It might be, hey, I just always hit snooze and I love my sleep ins. I want you to challenge yourself on that. Say, why do I love my sleep ins? Is it because of what's happening the night before? Is it because I haven't dealt with some of the underlying problem or trauma? I want you to Think about this. You can either have your dream life or your sleep ins. You can't have both, right? You can either have your dream life or your sleep ins, but you can't have both. That's just how it is, right? So you got to get up and get at it. I want you to think about this. When you look around and you look at high performing athletes or politicians or sports people or whether they're actors, maybe they're leaders in your industry, what do they have in common? Well, I can assure you one thing they have in common is they get up before the rest of the world, they get a head start in the world, they use that hour, that two hours and they go wild. They do their one most important thing, they hone in on it and they make a difference. They move towards their big badass goals. And if you were to get up just one hour earlier across a 30 year period, that's going to give you an extra 400 plus days. It's an extra year of life every 30 years just by getting up one hour earlier. Now if you want to get badass, say you get up at 8 o', clock, what if you get up at 5? Now, wow, all those extra hours, you're going to get years and years and years of extra life. So you'll no longer have to squeeze the gym workout in, you'll no longer have to run and get the fast food at lunch because you'll have time to prep it. You'll no longer have to go and pay big dollars for people to solve your problems because you'll be able to read great books and level up and take courses and get coaching, all those amazing things that the high performers do. When you think of Serena Williams, she gets up early. When you think of Serena Williams, she's got mentors, coaches, she's reading, she's getting to work, she's doing her one most important thing at the start of every single day. Now, I want to share a story with you. I had a client from North America, she came to me for one on one coaching and she had a lot of stress. She had a family, she had a business, she was running and she was wanting to find an intimate relationship and it was all so difficult, it was overwhelming. Her health was suffering. So we started looking at, okay, where's this all coming from? How are you defining success for yourself? How are you spreading yourself so thin? Why are you saying yes to so many people? So we started looking at all these different factors that led to this crazy, chaotic, stressful life and the One thing that kept coming up was that she liked to hit snooze. How funny is the snooze button? How hilarious do we all laugh when our friends talk about hitting snooze? It's not funny at all, that snooze button, whoever invented it, I wish they didn't. So when you're hitting snooze, that's you avoiding life. The alarm goes off. No, I want to avoid life. Alarm goes off. Now I want to go back to my dreams. If you want your true, truly want your dreams, you got to wake up and get after them. Nobody else will. In fact, somebody else will go after your dream and get it for themselves. And we don't want that. Whether it's your dream life, your dream wife, your dream car, your dream joy, they'll go after it for themselves. So I started working with this client and over a three to maybe five month period, we installed an amazing morning routine. It meant she had to shift her nighttime routine a little bit, get to bed a little earlier. But this morning routine, it transformed her health in a super short time. She could see physical differences, she felt happier, she was more present with her kids, she found time to go on dates. Her life transformed in a short time out. If she maintains that, which I'm confident she will, it will send her in a totally different direction. You think about a ship. If a ship is going from A to B and it's going at 270 degrees and the captain decides an hour into the journey, it's a 24 hour journey, that he's going to shift it by 3 degree, not tell anyone. Well, isn't that ship going to end up at a very different destination? Maybe instead of Antarctica, it's going to end up in Hawaii. Right? I know where I'd rather end up. So think about you. You are the captain of your ship and you get to decide what degree and what angle you shift to. And those little shifts could be having a wheatgrass shot, reading a little book, maybe three or four pages a day, getting a coach. It could be exercising three times a week. Could be an early morning routine. Make one shift a month or one shift every couple of months. Try not to install too many habits at once. We know that that just overwhelms us and it's not great. So as I say, don't forget this. You can either have your dream life or your sleep binge. You can't have both. Now here's three ways for you to supercharge your morning. Number one, this is number one. Write this down. Lose the snooze. You've got to lose the snooze. But you've got to get committed to bouncing out of bed in the morning. Let's say that alarm goes off and you roll over, you reach for it, eyes are still closed, you find the off button, you go back to bed, right? That's a super low energy way to start your day. That sets the tone for your day. Your day is toast. Now, why don't you try this? When your alarm goes off, bounce up, jump out of bed. Don't grab the phone or your alarm clock. Even better, if you have a traditional alarm clock, until you're up and you're out. Okay, it's super important to actually get up now. How many of you guys find it hard to actually get up? There's lots of you. Here's a little routine I've shared with many clients. Saturday afternoon, you've got a quiet afternoon. You've got 20 minutes to yourself. Go up to your bedroom, lie on your bed, turn your alarm on for one minute's time. Lie down, close your eyes, pretend you're sleeping. The alarm's going to go off. Now, when it goes off, I want you to jump out of bed and go, yes, I'm ready to start the day. That might feel silly, might look silly if your partner's there or your family's there, but do that, okay, right, back to bed. Set the alarm for one minute. When it goes off, jump out. Yes, I'm ready for this. Do that 20 times. Do that every weekend for 20 minutes. I promise you that within three or four weeks, you will have conditioned a new habit. And that trigger the alarm going off, that's your trigger. That will trigger an automated response from you every morning to bounce out of bed and go, yes, let's do this. I think that's going to set you up for a radically different day. Now, once you're up, it's important to actually have a routine. So having a routine is going to make a big difference. If you get up early in the morning, let's say 5:30am, some of you, 6:00am, might be early, depends what it is. If you don't have something to follow a routine, you're going to get bored. You're probably going to go back to scrolling through your emails, your Instagram, all that stuff. It's important to have structure in the morning. So first thing I always encourage you to do is alkalize. That's number two. Make sure you alkalize. When you alkalize Your body, you set it up for success. Now, what do most of us reach for in the mornings? Coffee, of course. Right. We're conditioned by TV commercials, by movies, by coffee companies to drink coffee first thing in the morning. Now, don't get me wrong, coffee is beautiful, it smells divine. But it's not the greatest thing to consume first thing in the morning. Why not? Well, coffee is acidic. And when we create an acidic environment internally, this that allows and encourages disease to flourish. We don't want disease, right? So an acidic state in our body is not good. When we're having acidic foods and processed foods, that's not good. That really creates an unhealthy environment. So if you can alkalize first thing in the morning, here's a super simple way to do it. A glass of hot water and a wedge of lemon. Squeeze the lemon water in there. Now, you might think, but James Lammon's acidic, like as a citrus fruit. Yes, but when it hits your stomach lining, it instantly is alkaline, right? The studies show that it's alkaline. It's alkalizing your body. So lemon water every morning will create a radical difference for your environment, your internal environment. So it's a much more positive way to start your day. It's super simple, super cheap, but again, it's part of the routine. Now, before I give you the third tip to supercharge your morning, I'd love you to smash the subscribe button below. It's my gift to you. Now, the third step to supercharging your morning and mastering your morning right is making sure that you create a space where you can meditate or think. Some people hear meditation and they switch off and say, it's not for me. I would urge you to try it. Meditating allows you to detach, it allows you to process. It allows you to set up your day in a very controlled and proactive way. Otherwise, if you're getting up and you're having your coffee and you're responding to texts and Instagram and you're scrolling and liking, that's very reactive. And you're going to be reactive when things get tough during the day, when your kids push your buttons, which they do, when, when someone at work pisses you off, which sometimes they do, you're going to be more inclined to be reactive. If you have started your morning reactively so, getting that proactive plan in place, making sure that you have time to meditate, to do some breath work, I always encourage my clients and I do this myself every day. Get up, look at your day ahead, plan out what your top three outcomes are for the day. Three or four outcomes that you really want to achieve. It could be simple, they could be monumentally huge. But actually take the time to plan those out. So I want to wish you guys the very best. I want to challenge you, actually. Join me and try an early morning. Try it for a month. Okay? I call it the 30 to thrive. 30 minutes for 30 days, early in the morning and I promise you, you will be thriving. Okay, so a 30 minute routine could look something like this. You get up 5:30am Might sound horrific, but give it a try. You get up super early for the first 15 minutes, meditate, alkalize right before that, the next 10 minutes, a little bit of movement yoga, maybe a high intensity interval training, a little quick burst at home and then five minutes of planning and journaling. That's a super simple, succinct, fast way to get some great results. Super achievable. And then as you start to see the results and get those micro wins, you're going to want to do 45 minutes or an hour or 90 minutes in the morning. You will start to see the massive difference it has in your life and the massive difference it has in the life around you. And that's what it's all about. It's about leaving a legacy that you're proud of. And by getting up early in the morning, you're joining people who are in the rare air of life. They're experiencing life with the glass overflowing.
