James Laughlin explains how leaders develop other leaders: believe in your team, give them real responsibility, and step back. Trust them to make decisions and learn from mistakes. The same approach works for parenting.

When I think about growing leaders, you give them confidence. So first of all, you've got to show that you believe in them and then help them believe in themselves that they're good enough. And then, but that's just words, right? Yeah. And so it's like, okay, you actually genuinely have to give them opportunities to lead. You've got to hand over the keys and say, okay, I trust you, you know, take the risk, go for it. And I'm not going to be, you know, yes, I'm there to help you, but you don't hover over them. You don't try and, you know, make sure you're You're always there, just let them, let them do it so they can make mistakes and learn and things like that.
And if we took leadership out of it for a second, that could be parenting. What you just said is equally applicable to parenting, you know, like get out of their way, give them a shot, you know, believe in them, let them believe in themselves, and then hand them the keys essentially.
