And I show up in downtown Mountain View, and there's a line around the block, and I'm going, what are these people doing? You know, what are they here for? And I realized they're actually making ramen. Just like, you know, the Italian pasta shops make pasta. They're making it live right there in front of you. And my. It was sensory overload. It was imagination overload. But I learned there a fundamental principle about idea generation and about creativity, which is the following. Our imaginations are sparked by unexpected input. And if you don't have a practice around seeking unexpected input, you shouldn't be surprised that your imagination is not sparked.
