James Laughlin talks with someone who built a $1B pipeline at Microsoft for Startups but got no direct payment from it. They discuss why reputation matters, how entrepreneurship happened by accident, and why nothing gets built alone.
I know that you worked at Microsoft Global, leading expert, a best selling author, and someone who happens to be a friend.
I didn't actually mean to be an entrepreneur. We built a billion dollars in pipeline for startups, Microsoft for startups in my first year there. We don't get a fucking penny of this billion dollars. Hello, you're off the mark. We fucking hate what you're, what you're putting out right now. You're glutton for punishment. Why would you put yourself through this? She goes, why would we hire you now if you want.
Do the same shit? I didn't even realize that I had developed this reputation. You have to tell people that, like you actually give a shit. It's not just about like male versus female. Nothing ever gets built alone. No, that's a hard question.
