This is a YouTube video titled "Make sure you KNOW who you are letting into your organisation..." created on October 3, 2023. It features Steve Robinson discussing the importance of hiring for culture and his personal career experiences since 1981.
You need to understand, the most important decisions we make here are who we invite into the organization. We don't train culture here, we hire it. And that's. That's the sort of organization, the sort of man I went to work for in 1981, January of 1981, he was right. He didn't know what marketing entailed. He didn't want to do it. And one of the reasons I stayed almost 35 years was he never called me to his office one time to ask me why I did something. Why did you do that? That doesn't seem like a smart thing to do. When he said, if I can trust and we have fun together, you're going to get to do the job. And that is, in fact, the kind of career I had.
