Short excerpt from a YouTube video by James Laughlin in which he criticizes peripheral health trends (example: blue light blocking glasses) as "ridiculous" for many people and emphasizes focusing on foundational health pillars—nutrition, sleep, hygiene, exercise, social interaction, and reconnecting with nature—for everyday balance.

Blue light blocking glasses could be helpful. I look at that stuff as ridiculous so that's you kind of messing with the natural nature of things. It's like I think just keep it simple. I think we get into this pattern of like thinking where it's like okay well where the blue blockers or we won't have it, you know we won't have a coffee till 11 o' clock and there's all these little things that people are doing right but they're not doing the big things right and the simple things and yeah I understand the thing behind the blue block. Yeah and for some people they'll help but just do the basics and you don't need those little, you know, the things that are out on the periphery. That's my take on it and yeah so we've got nutrition, sleep, hygiene, exercise. What are the other pillars of health? Social interaction and reconnecting with nature. If you get those things into your everyday you will have balance.
