YouTube video by James Laughlin ("The #1 sign that you're a great leader...") containing a brief first-person anecdote about leadership and team support. The speaker recounts discovering a five-minute video of personal messages his team made when they saw he was struggling; he describes being moved to tears and explains that such gestures provide reassurance and help leaders persevere.
My team rallied around me when they could see. Some times I just stumbled upon it the other day, actually. The team saw I was going through hell and back, and they created this five minute video of personal messages. And that's genuine care. That was amazing. Oh, bawling like a baby. As you watched it the other night, my daughter's like, what are you. What's wrong with you, dad? And I was like, oh, it's just something that I just stumbled upon. It's amazing. Yeah, it was really, really cool. And those are the moments like, I can do this. I can get through it. You know, you've got something, right? As a leader, when you're at a low ebb and your team does something like that.
