A breathing technique called birthday candle breath: visualize candles on a cake, inhale deeply, then exhale slowly as if blowing them out. Use it before meetings, interviews, or stressful moments to calm your nervous system.
Chapters
We just call it the birthday candle breath. Right? Imagine that you're seeing all of the candles on the cake in front of you. It's your birthday, if that's in your culture. And deep breath in and blow out all of the candles. That is a very cool practice to do when you're stressed in the moment. Let's say you're about to walk into a board meeting. Let's say you're about to walk into a job interview, or you're about to walk into your home after a difficult day. One or two or three long, slow exhales to calm your body, to calm your mind, to settle your emotions, then gives you the opportunity to walk into that situation and actually perform to your potential under tremendous pressure and stress.
