A speaker (self-identified as a climate change minister) discusses how AI is beginning to be used to address climate change by integrating diverse data sources—notably Earth observation data—and applying AI to reduce the high costs of data collection, democratize access, and produce new insights that were previously expensive or impractical.

You guys using embracing thinking about how AI and climate interchange. So in my so as climate change minister it's sort of starting to kind of, you know, I'm starting to detect people who are innovating around the use of AI in some of what they do, for example, Earth observation data, you know, which is very expensive to collect because you generally do it from space and if you're not doing it from space, it's even more difficult to collect because you're doing it by hand on the on the ground. But you're starting to see people pulling in data sources from all these different feeds and then crunching it through AI systems and producing phenomenal insights that we kind of weren't easily able to get before or we were only able to get at colossal expense. So it's bringing down cost. I mean the kind of standard things, right? It's bringing down cost, it's democratizing, it's opening up and so on and that can be amazing.
