David Dicker explains why his team's F1 entry bid failed. They spent €300,000 on the application, proposed putting a woman in one seat, and Dicker says F1's refusal to admit new teams is a massive mistake for the sport.
€300,000
They applied when Andretti applied (simultaneously).
Switzerland
Do you see rhoden being in F1 at some point? No. Why not? Because they won't let you in. We tried to get in. We applied when Andretti applied and we flew over to Switzerland and we did a presentation and we put the whole presentation together here in about two weeks from start to finish, which was absolutely Herculean effort. We spent €300,000 with them just on application fees and they were never going to let us in, even though we said we were going to put a woman in one of the seats and we were going to do this and we were going to do that. And I reckon we had a better bid than Andretti for a technical standpoint, but they were never going to do it. And the fact that they didn't even let Andretti in makes you realize how strongly opposed they are to new teams because that's a major mistake. So I couldn't imagine us ever getting into F1.
