A short transcript excerpt from a YouTube conversation between James Laughlin and Dan in which Laughlin asks Dan to imagine it is his last day and a much younger loved one asks how to lead their life. The excerpt centers on the prompt: what advice would you give about living 'on purpose' and leading a meaningful life.
We're going to fast forward many years into the future. And you're highly aware that it's your last day here on Earth.
Oh, my God.
We're getting serious here. And someone very young that you love dearly. It might be a grandchild. Great grandchild. Comes into the room and says, dan, how do I lead my life?
On purpose?
What would you say to them?
You got any ideas on life extension? That's what I would. That's the first thing that I would say. How do I lead my life? On purpose? I would say, be generous and be true to yourself, beautiful.
