We, myself and two of my colleagues were taken hostage out of a UN installation. Three of us, unarmed, were taken hostage in the middle of the night by over 38 heavily armed military militia members. And when they took us, they indicated to us that they were taking us to make a bad video of us. And they were doing this gesture of decapitation, right? So at the time, we were studying everything that was coming from the environment, and one of the things that was coming through was videos of decapitation that were, you know, exchanged between warring parties to demonstrate commitment to the mission. So when we confronted this scenario, especially in a UN installation that we assumed until that point was in this bubble of protection, this invisible cloud of safety, it was no more. But when they gestured this to us, we knew they weren't kidding. We knew that we had every reason to anticipate that bad things were going to happen to us.
