Short conversational excerpt from a YouTube video titled "What do YOU do for FUN??" (creator/upload: James Laughlin). Speakers discuss personal hobbies centered on reading—enjoyment when new books arrive and reading long articles—and the role of the Internet (and Twitter) in expanding access to articles and information (speaker cites discovering a Boston Review article they wouldn’t have found previously).
I have something people say, james, what do you do for fun? I read. Like, I love reading when a new book arrives at the house. Like, I geek out on.
That and articles, you know. So, I mean, that's the beauty of the Internet, I find, and the beauty of a medium like Twitter, which, you know, has a lot of downsides, but, boy, it has opened up the reach in terms of information that we just never would have had before. I mean, I read this massive article the other day from Boston Review, and I never would have got that in the past. I never would have even known about it. And, you know, that's a joy, that kind of that ability to access information free for anyone on the planet with an Internet connection.
