Short excerpt from a YouTube video where the speaker defines "tactical ignorance" as the deliberate choice to ignore unhelpful inputs and distractions in order to focus on useful information. The speaker gives a practical example: locking oneself in a room for an hour to protect headspace and focus.
Not every input is valuable, not every input is useful, not every bit of advice is worth taking on board and being able to ignore all of that. So I refer to it as tactical ignorance, right? Choosing the things that you are consciously ignoring, very tactically ignoring, because, you know it's a distraction, you know it's not going to help, and zeroing in on all of the inputs that are going to be useful. So that can be everything from, look, I'm just going to lock myself in this room for an hour, right, and not let anybody physically have access to my headspace.
