James Laughlin teaches a four-question technique for negative emotions: close your eyes, breathe, place a hand where you feel it, then ask what emotion it is, where in your body it lives, why it's there, and what you can do about it.
Chapters
The next time you feel a certain emotion, you know, a negative feeling that is, sit down with yourself and just, you know, close your eyes. I always say place a hand over the area that you're feeling it. So take a few deep breaths and place a hand over that area and just ask yourself, okay, which emotion am I feeling? And just start to sort of breathe into it. Where am I feeling that in my body? And place, you know, hand over it, like I said. And then say, why might I be feeling this emotion? And then, what can I do about it? So it's like, which, where, why, and what? And that's a starting, more logical way to get into things for people.
