Two people argue that CEOs must embrace change to lead effectively, coining the phrase "CEO change equals opportunity." They explore how this applies to personal life too: when facing devastating loss, the tension between reason and faith determines whether you see growth ahead or just the storm.
Change is something that a CEO must adapt to. Coined the expression CEO change equals opportunity.
Yeah, it's the, the challenging part is the time in between when that thing happens and when the silver lining comes.
And it applies to your life too. You can be CEO of your life. I mean, you could have soul-crushing devastating change that happens, the death of a child or a parent or really bad things, but on the other side of that crisis, often you'll find there's a silver lining and there was a reason for all of this to happen and you can grow from it. And being able to keep your head up. That's where this balance between faith and reason comes in. Reason— your mind will tell you this is just wrong and make you a victim. There is no God, how could they let this happen, that sort of thing. But the faith part says maybe there's a reason for this, and I can't see it now because I'm in the middle of this thunderstorm, and when I pop out the other side, I'll see the rainbow and realize, okay, I'm safe, and I went through that for a reason.
