A marketer discovered someone had copied his entire ad, down to the photo with his dog and the phrase "Drop Surfing." He realized that in internet marketing, being copied is the real compliment because there are no secrets, just tactics anyone can learn and use.
That is definitely the biggest compliment that someone can get. I saw some kid with an ad and it was literally my exact ad. There's a picture of me sitting next to my dog and then a long sales copy. I see this kid, a picture of him and his dog, same copy, click the link, takes you to the exact same page, used the word Drop Surfing. I sent him a message. He was copying my whole funnel. He was like— And then I realized, actually, I'm flattered that you copied because that's the cool thing about internet marketing. It's not proprietary. You can learn from what other people are doing and do what they're doing and it'll work.
