A critique of chasing wealth, luxury, and social media fame as paths to fulfillment. The speaker argues most people get stuck pursuing external markers and never discover the inner emptiness that remains even after achieving them.
Most people never get to the first step, right? The first step is like you make some money, you buy the fancy cars, you get the social media following. Everyone thinks that's the end goal. But when you get that, you realize, wait, I still kind of have an emptiness inside of me. Didn't fill the emptiness. Yeah, right. Then you kind of go to the next step, which is like trying to figure out what fills that void. But most people never make it to the first step.
