A promoter booked Steve Aoki and Lupe Fiasco for two nights in Albany: night one sold out for $50,000 profit, night two lost $50,000. To cut artist costs, he created Electric Flurry, the world's largest foam party, which proved you could sell tickets on experience alone.

We threw the shows. So we booked this big arena in Albany and we had Steve Aoki on a Tuesday night, Lupe Fiasco on a Wednesday night. First night we sold out, we made $50,000. Second night we lost $50,000. We ended up breaking even on the venture, but it showed me the power of throwing events. So from there we, we tried to figure out how do we create a show that we don't have to pay the artists so much money. So we were like, let's throw our own unique show. We came up with the idea to throw the world's largest foam party. And that way we didn't have to book any big artists, we could still sell it as an experience. And we did our first event. It was called Electric Flurry. You guys can check it out. It's still on YouTube. It's from like 10+ years ago now.
