A traveler describes visiting North Korea and a brief romantic moment with a local guide that was shut down by authorities watching them. He reflects on the regime's extreme propaganda: North Koreans are taught America is evil, their leader Kim Jong-un was born from sunlight on a mountain, and they live in the world's richest country.
The most interesting place I've been to is North Korea. You see a different side of humanity. Extreme propaganda. But then I got to meet this North Korean girl, my guide, and she's like the most beautiful Korean girl I've ever seen. We kind of started liking each other. Hold hands on the bus. And then the other guide came to me and he's like, "Don't hold the hands. We're watching you." So I freaked out. I went too crazy. I stopped. And she said, "Please text me." How the hell am I gonna text you? I cannot text you. Those humans believe things that are just not true. America is the devil. They believe that their way of life is the best way of life. They believe that they're the richest. Kim Jong-un is a god. Born out of sunlight somewhere on top of a mountain.
