Movement efficiency beats raw fitness in the cage. Wasted energy comes from tight muscles and bad patterns. Train all three energy systems each week with dynamic effort, max effort, and repetition work to stay sharp when everyone else gasses.

How can you increase your endurance in high-intensity sports? A lot of it comes down to efficiency of movement because you have wasted energy. Maybe you're tight in certain ways, kind of clench up because you're not used to that movement. And a lot of my guys at the elite level, even though they may not be quote unquote in shape or highly fit at that particular time, they can come in and do sparring rounds because they're at the elite status and still be able to sustain some output. In order for you to have like an all-encompassing high motor output, you want to work on multiple energy systems throughout the week. That's what we call concurrent training and conjugate style. This is where you would work dynamic effort, max effort, and repetition effort, the 3 methods of strength training, all in one week. This way, what ends up happening is you're ready at all times.
