Jared Goetz defines discipline as aligning your present actions with what your future self wants. His one-hour morning routine—a walk, run, sauna, cold plunge, and meditation—shifts his mental state and thought frequency, which he says determines the outcomes you create.

Discipline is when your present self does the things that your future self wants you to do to become the highest version of yourself. Discipline is the most important thing you could focus on because when you change your energy and you change your state, everything around you changes. I like to get up in the morning, do my Perfect Walk Formula, get a run in, hit the sauna and cold plunge, finish off with a meditation. It all takes me about an hour. And then when I sit down at my desk and I start working on creative work, the thoughts flow because your thoughts match your frequency of how you feel. So if you feel abundant and you feel strong, you're going to get thoughts of that same frequency. On the other hand, if you feel lack or down or depressed, you're going to get thoughts of that frequency. And your thoughts propel you into the future. So if you could focus on your energy, which comes from discipline, you get the thoughts you need to go where you want to go, and you don't need to worry about anything else.
