Pope John Paul II said faith and reason are two wings that lift the human spirit toward truth. Relying on only one leaves you grounded. You need both working together to actually understand anything.
Pope John Paul II, what he said was that the human requires this balance. Too much of either is not good. It was really fascinating the way he described it. Think of faith and reason as two wings, and they're two wings that elevate the human spirit toward the truth. How perfect is that? We're all looking for the truth, and we can seek the truth with the faith alone, or we can seek the truth with reason alone, but it's that balance that helps you truly find the truth.
