The excerpt is a single-speaker motivational/coaching monologue by a clinical hypnotherapist (speaks as a hypnotist based in Dallas) addressing a live audience. The speaker discusses mindset and mental hygiene, arguing that most life problems are "thinking problems," and presents a 5C process (clarity, calibration, confidence, competence, consistency) for reprogramming thought patterns. The speaker gives examples (smoking cessation, weight, relationships, career), references being en route to Louisiana, and offers contact details and calls to action (phone: 972-525-4988; website: hypnosisdallastx.com). Oh, headed over to Louisiana, go lay eyes on my people, check on my people. I'm gonna chop it up with y'all a little bit while we en route, man. Hopefully everybody having a phenomenal week. Hopefully everything going amazing. Here go your daily reminder: you could be doing now anything you desire. Anything you desire. Your only limit in life is your own imagination. If you can think it, you can do it. You can do it. Can't think it, can't do it. But if you can think it, if you can get an image of it in your head, if you can get that feeling in your body and you can hold on to that image, hold on to that feeling, no matter what's going on out there, you're gonna start doing it on accident. You don't have to control what's going on out there. In fact, you can't control what's going on out there. You gotta take control over your mind. Your mind is the one thing that you can control in all situations. Yeah, that's a fact. You can't control the weather, you can't control the economy, you can't control what your spouse do, but you can control your mind. I highly suggest you start investing in learning how to control the thing that you can control. When you try to control all these uncontrollable things, only thing you're gonna do is find frustration, self-doubt. You're gonna mess up your confidence trying to control what you can't control. But if you really want to build confidence, if you really want to develop, what you got to learn how to do is work on your mind. You can't just work on you like a lot of times people want to start working on their mind when shit hit the fan. What you want to do is you want to be working on your mind when stuff is going pleasantly well, so when stuff do get out of whack, you already in the practice of working your mind. It's hard to learn how to meditate when you're grieving. It's hard to learn how to meditate when you try to figure out how you gonna pay your bills and. Stuff is already behind. But if you already got good mental hygiene and you already in the habit of quietening your mind, you already in the habit of doing affirmations, you already in the habit of goal setting and locking on to what you want, the neurons already there, those neural pathways already developed, you set yourself up for success. So not saying that you can't learn how to control your mind in the midst of controversy, but I'm saying you really do— you really give yourself a big leg up When you're already in the habit of controlling your mind before those types of things happen, you can be doing half anything you desire. Nothing is off limits. Nothing is off limits. Whatever limited beliefs you got, whatever thoughts in your head you got saying we can't do it, get on the calendar. Let's clean all that up. If you can think it, you can do it. That's a thought that I really want you to start practicing. If I can think it, I can do it. If I, if I can think it, I can do it. And if I think about it long enough and hard enough and I add emotion to it, I'll do it on accident. If I focus on it hard enough, if I focus on— focus on it in a way that gets me excited, if I focus on it in a way that gets me motivated, if I focus on it in a way to get me turned up, if I focus on a way to get me talking different, to get me walking different, to get me in the moment, if I focus on it like that, oh man, I mess around and do it on accident. I just got— I gotta learn how to lock in. Think about it. When you focus on things that you don't like, when you focus on things that upset you, when you focus on things that piss you off, you don't got to try to be motivated. I mean, you don't— I said motivated. You don't got to try to be pissed off. You don't got to try to feel down. You don't got to try to feel overwhelmed. That's the natural result of focusing on things that you don't like. That's the natural result of focusing on things that you don't like. I'm here to tell you, you don't got a discipline problem. You don't got a procrastination problem, okay? You got a focus problem. You are focusing on things you don't like and wondering why you feel bad. Well, you feel bad because you putting your attention on things that you don't like. If you just learn how to go, this is what I desire, and put your attention on it— I'ma focus on this thing that I desire— your body is going to respond to what you focus When you watch a sad movie, you don't gotta try to feel sad, just watch the movie. You watch a funny movie, you don't gotta try to laugh, just watch the movie. If you figure out what you want and you start putting your attention on it and you start focusing on it, you don't got to try to feel motivated, you don't got to try to feel inspired, you don't got to try to feel creative. When you start controlling your attention, you're gonna start waking up with really good ideas. When you start controlling your focus, you're gonna start meeting people accidentally who can help you get to the next level. You're gonna start running into mentors. You're gonna start accidentally getting customers. So when you say— But until you— so when you focusing on what you don't want, you're gonna find a whole bunch of stress on accident. You have found a whole bunch of anxiety on accident. You're gonna find a whole bunch of excuses on accident, and you're not going looking for them. It's just a result of what you're focusing on. It's a result of what you focusing on. Control your focus. If you learn how to work your mind— if you learn how to work your mind on purpose, you could be successful on accident. If you just work your mind on purpose, you will be successful on accident. But if you don't learn how to roll your— how to control your mind, you can read all the books, you can go to all the seminars, you go to all the courses, you can learn about marketing, you can learn all this stuff. Your mind is what's going to propel you towards your goals. If you don't master your mind, you can hang it up. Every problem is a thinking problem. Jay, I just don't got enough money. I need you to think different. Jay, my body doesn't fit. I need you to think good. I mean, I need you to think different. Jay, my marriage is on the rocks. Think different. Every problem is a thinking problem. If you just change the way you think, you'll change the way you act on accident. I'm a clinical hypnotherapist. Over the years, I've helped hundreds of people quit smoking, lose weight, quit biting your nails, PTSD, anxiety— all thinking problems. All thinking problems. Jay, I always procrastinate. Think different. Jay, I can't put cigarettes down. Think different. Jay, my self-esteem is shit. Think different. Jay, I'm burnt out. Think different. Jay, I'm falling apart. Think different. Jay, I'm grieving the loss of my family. I need you to think that every problem is a thinking problem. And you can, you can argue with your mama. I don't— every problem is thinking. Well, Jay, you don't understand, I got cancer. I need you to think different. Every problem is a thinking problem. When you change the way you think, you're gonna change your results on accident. But when you try to change your results without first changing the way you think, you hustling backwards. It's like you running as fast as you can, but you on a treadmill. I need you to get off the treadmill. I need you to start working on your mind. So I'm gonna lay out what I call the 5C process. And y'all, I'm driving, so I'm not looking in the comments, but I promise to look back at every last one of them. When I'm not driving. And I'm gonna give y'all my phone number. My phone number is 972-525-4988. Questions, comments, concerns, anything that you trying to tell me that I can't see right there, feel free to shoot me a text. 972-525-4988. Okay, but let's lay out the 5C process. This is the process that I use in every session. I don't care if I'm working with a CEO, I don't care if I'm working with a professional athlete. I don't care if I'm working with just the average Joe who wants to quit smoking or wants to quit biting their nails. This is the process that's in my mind as I'm helping this person to get what they want. The first C is clarity. Anybody who know my work, you, you already heard the 5 C's, but repetition is important. The last C is consistency for a reason. So even if you think you already know the 5 C's, shut up, write this down. The first C is clarity. And the reason the first is clarity is because you can't get what you want until you know what you want. Anybody who's ever been in my office, you know I got these 5 picture frames behind my desk, and the first frame is a golden frame, and that, that's the clarity frame. All the other frames are black, but that first frame is the most important frame because you don't got clarity, you don't, you don't got nothing to be disciplined in. If you don't got clarity, you don't got nothing to be confident in. You can't get what you want Until you know what you want. Okay, and a lot of people's biggest problem is that they don't know what they want. They know what they don't want, and they spending all their time thinking about it. So they got clarity, but they got clarity in what they don't want. Imagine what happened— imagine what happened if you got in a taxi and said, hey, don't take me to the mall, I hate them all, I'm not paying all that money for no pants, I don't like them, I don't like them, don't take me to the mall. Don't take me to the post office. I'm not trying to mail nothing. Don't take me to church. I don't trust those pastors. Imagine what happened if you got in the taxi and instead of telling this person where you want to go, you only telling the person where you don't want to go. That's, that's crazy, right? That's stupid, right? Why would you do that? I heard a guy give an example the other day. He said, imagine you in a foreign country where they don't speak your language and you go into a restaurant And you don't know the language, but you get a picture of the menu and you in the menu pointing, but you pointing at stuff saying, "Hey, I don't like this. I don't want this. I don't want this fish. No, no, don't don't give me this fish. I don't want the fish. Okay. Now don't give me the chicken. Don't give me the chicken." Then you close the menu and say, "I want the steak." What you think they more likely to come back with? You think they finna come back with that stuff you've been pointing at with all that energy, or you think they finna come back with the, the steak that you talk— that you said you want. Don't go through life pointing at what you don't want, because what you pointing at, what you focusing on, is what you're ordering. So the first step is clarity. I got to get clear about what I want. What do I want? I don't like this. Okay, what would I rather have? I remember being in the military. I didn't like being in the military. I didn't like all of these people telling me what to do. I didn't like that I couldn't grow my beard. I didn't like that I couldn't grow my hair. I didn't like that I couldn't wear my nose ring and I couldn't wear my earrings. And I had to wear camouflage every day. I couldn't live where I wanted to live. I didn't like that. But when my life started to change, when I said, well, what do I— what would I rather have? I want to be entrepreneur. I want to work for myself. You know what, scratch that. I don't want to work. I want to play for a living. I want to get paid to do things that I would do for absolutely free. I want to work on mindset. I want to remind people who they are. I want to motivate people. I want to inspire people. I don't want my pay connected to my stripes on my shoulder. I want I to be able to do what I want to want do. my pay connected to my passion. I want my pay connected to my energy. I want my play connected to that dog in me that's gonna go out and get it. As I started focusing on what I wanted, my whole life started to change. I started meeting the right people. I started ending up in the right place in the right— in the right time. I accidentally reading different books. I started accidentally listening to podcasts. I started accidentally doing things like joining Toastmasters. I started accidentally becoming a really good orator. I started accidentally networking and meeting people, and I accidentally built my dream job. But the process was me stop focusing on what I don't want and starting to focus on what I want. I didn't magically meet one person that changed my life. I didn't magically read one book that changed my life. I didn't magically, like, come across some secret recipe. For a period of time, I was focusing on what I wanted. And all the time I used to focus on complaining about the military and not liking it. I cut the— I, I don't— I can't put my focus on what I don't want. I started focusing on what I want. I want to be my own boss. And when something would annoy me at work, when someone would get under my skin in the military, oh, but good thing I'm— good thing I'm building my own business. Good thing I was controlling my mind. And you gotta understand, your body follows your mind. Your body follows your mind, okay? Your body follows your mind. If you want to be successful, you got to send your mind to success. If you want to be rich, you got to send your mind to rich. If you want to be healthy, you got to send your mind healthy. Driving to Louisiana right now because I got a family member that I care about dearly. who got some not so good news. What we're gonna do, we're gonna get the mind together. I don't care what's on that paper. Let me— let's change what's on your mind, because we change what's on your mind, we're gonna accidentally change what's on that paper. If we change what's in your mind, we're gonna accidentally change what the cell's doing. But the things you gotta understand about this process is, before I can change anybody else's mind, I got to change my mind. So guess what I did last night? I conditioned Mama, like, people always want to be— how do you be more persuasive? How do you be more convincing? How do you be a good negotiator? How do you be a good salesman? I'm gonna tell you this, 90% of the work is in here. 90% of the work is convincing you. 90% of the work is getting you to buy in. You gotta, you gotta sell it to you before you can sell it to the world. You're doing affirmations trying to convince the universe. No, yeah, those affirmations got to convince your ass. You're right in that journal trying to convince God. God, God is the beginning, the middle, and the end, okay? God already convinced. You got to convince you. You got to change your thinking. You got to reprogram you. Prayer is about reprogramming you. Prayer is not about convincing God. Uh-oh, you thought prayer was about convincing God? No, prayer is not about convincing God. Prayer is about convincing you. Prayer is about conditioning. Your faith. Experience about making new neural networks in your brain. All right, we're gonna back back because I'm driving and I can't, I can't argue with people if it comes down to it because I got to focus on what's in front of me. But the first thing is clarity. You can't get what you want until you know what you want. You got to get clear about what you want. You got to get clear about what you want, okay? I know you know what you don't want. I know you can dot every I and cross every T when it comes to what you don't want, but the first step is clarity. I gotta get clear about what I want. If you need help getting clarity, I know a guy who's really good at getting clarity. His name is Jay. He looks a lot like me. So if you need— if you, if you listening to this saying, Jay, I hear you, but I don't know what I want, I don't even know how to begin to figure out what I want, I know I want more, I know I don't want what I got, but I don't know how to get clarity, you need to get with me so we can fix that. Okay, so after we get clarity, the next step is calibration. Calibration is about feeding what you want to your nervous system. Okay, I want you to look at calibration like this. When you calibrate to a funny movie, what happens? You laugh. You don't got to try to laugh, you just got to calibrate to the funny movie, right? Right. When you calibrate to a sad movie, you get sad. You don't got to try to get sad, you just got to calibrate to the sad movie. If you calibrate to an action movie, you get excited. If you in this live right now and you calibrated to me and I'm turned up, you gotta try to get inspired. Just calibrate to me, baby. I got it. But when we get clear about what we want— I want to be entrepreneur, I don't work for myself, I want to help people remember who they are, I want to help entrepreneurs step into their greatness, I want to work professional— when I get clear about what I want, the second step is calibrating what I want. Calibration is where I got to start putting my mind on what I want. Over. and over and over again. Calibration is where I'm gonna use a whole bunch of repetition and emotion. Now, my favorite way to calibrate people is to put them in my recliner and hypnotize the shit out of them. That, that's my favorite way to calibrate people. Now, if you calibrating on your own, that might look like self-hypnosis, that might look like affirmations, that might look like journaling, that might look like incantations. It's a lot of ways to calibrate yourself. The way that I calibrate my clients, I hypnotize them. Interested in being calibrated by me? Reach out. Let's talk. Third C is confidence. Now, a lot of times people try to force confidence. Let me tell you something: confidence has a recipe. Bet you didn't know that. Confidence has a recipe. You want the recipe? I already gave it to you. I'm gonna give it to you. I'm gonna give it to you in plain English though. Clarity plus calibration equals confidence. If you get clear about what you want. And you calibrate to what you want, you become confident on accident. What color is this straw? What color is it? You're confident that that straw is red. Have you ever called a book— have you ever read a book called How to Be Confident That Red Is Red? Hey, you ever went to a seminar for anybody to convince you to be confident? No, but there was a period in your life where somebody gave you clarity and calibration around it. Somebody sat you down, said, what color is this? Red. Good job, high five, buddy. Good job. What color is this? Red. Good job. What color is this? Pink? No, not pink. Say red. Good job, you're such a big boy. You're such a smart little girl. Through repetition and emotion, they, they made you confident that this is red. You become confident in your new life in the same way. You become confident in your finances in the same way. You become confident in your health in the same way. You become confident in this new habit you want to develop in the same way. Through repetition and emotion. Repetition and emotion over and over and over and over and over and over and over again. Okay, clarity plus calibration equals confidence. Okay, these C's are in a specific order. It's not confidence, calibration, clarity. It's not confidence, clarity, calibration. It's clarity. Can't get what you want till you know what you want. Can't get what you want until you know what you want. And I'm gonna be quite frank with you, if you ever start working with me, I don't care about what you don't want. What do you want? Jay, my doctor said— I, I, I didn't ask you what your doctor said. What do you want? Jay, my wife said— Bro, look, I got my own— I got my own woman at the house to listen to. What do you want? Jay, I gotta quit smoking. No, not what you gotta. Oh, let's let's back back. Let's talk more about this what you want part because a lot of times people get confused about what they want, and when I ask them what they want, they either telling me what they don't want or they telling me what they think they gotta do to get what they want. Okay? They they they they. If somebody come to me and say, "Hey Jay, I want I I I gotta quit smoking." I'm gonna say, "What do you want?" Say, "I just told you." I'm gonna say, "No, you didn't. You told me what you think you gotta do to get what you want. What do you want, Jay? My doctor said this is what I'm. What do you want, Jay? I I want to quit. No, you don't. You want to keep smoking. That's that's the problem. What do you want? And I'm gonna keep digging until I get something like, Jay, I just became a grandfather and my granddaughter is so— Jay, she's so precious, she's so beautiful. One day that little girl is going to be married and I want to be there. I want to see my baby girl walk down that aisle. I want to dance with her at her wedding. That's what you want. Now you think you got to quit smoking to get what you want, but Quit smoking is not what you want, it's what you think you got to do to get what you want. Does that make sense? Does that make sense? When I'm asking you what you want, I'm not asking you, Jay, I want to go to the gym 3 times a week. No, no, no, no, the fuck you don't. The gym is there. If you want to go to the gym 3 times a week, you would be going to the gym 3 times a week. What do you want? See, I want to look good naked. I want stamina for adult activities. I want my wife to look at me like she used to look at me. I want my husband to look at me the way my husband used to look at me. Jay, I want energy. Jay, I want to be able to compete with myself. I want to be able to beat my— Don't confuse what you think you got to do with what you want, because when we reprogramming the mind, the leverage I'm gonna use is in what you want, not what you think you got to do to get it. Subconscious mind don't respond to logic, it responds to emotion and feeling. I'm giving y'all some— I'm giving y'all some stuff that I believe there's people who, who think they do what I do who don't even like really understand these types of nuances. Okay, uh, like there's a lot of people talking about affirmations and focus wheels, and— but there's some nuances in there. You gotta understand how the subconscious mind works. So when we talk about clarity, clarity is not what you think you got. I don't want you to get clarity in what you do. That's the fault. I want you to get clarity in what you want. It was this one couple I was working with. They say, Jay, we just got to work on our arguing. And I'm like, no, no, no, I've heard y'all argue. Y'all really good at it. Y'all might got to work on something else, but it ain't arguing. Yeah, y'all have mastered the art of arguing. Yeah, boy, y'all argue like nothing I never said. You don't gotta work on your arguing. Yeah, y'all want to communicate better. Y'all want to hear each other. Y'all want to set some common goals. Y'all want to both be like— arguing is not— don't stop working on the problem. Stop working on the problem. Working on the problem is not the same thing as working on the solution. So first, see, get clear about what you want. Not what you think you gotta do, not what you don't want. What do you want? Step 1. After we get clear on what we want, we gotta calibrate to what we want. We gotta start imagining ourselves in that scene. We gotta start seeing it before we show up out there. We gotta start experiencing it in our minds before we show up out there. Okay, after I know what I want and I'm calibrated to what I want, I do the 3rd step on accident. I become confident. I'm gonna say this, I'm gonna say this. On accident. Now, once I become confident in what I want, we move to this 4th step, which is competence. This is where we start doing stuff. Step 4 is not step 1. I don't say, okay, I want to start a business, let me go build a website. It's hard to build a website when you unclear, uncalibrated, and uncomfortable. I don't say, okay, my divorce is final, I'm ready to start back dating, let me go out here. I'm not saying you can't date. I'm saying that you'll— it'll be a much better experience if you get clear about what you want, confident in what you want, calibrate to what you want, and then go dating. Like, you wasting your time dating if you're going, these, these niggas not shit, all women are gold diggers. Listen, I really suggest you get clear, calibrated, and confident in what you want and then go date. You'll save yourself a lot of time and a lot of money. Okay, you want to quit your job, you want to go find something new, you could, you could do that. But let's get clear about what you want. I just seen so many people quit their job, but they quit their job under the influence of what they don't want. They go on the interviews while they pissed off about what— about the— no, I'm not hiring you if you already pissed off. And no, get clear about what you want, get calibrated to what you want, become confident in what you want, then go interview. Makes sense. Clarity, calibration, confidence, and then competence. The last is consistency. Work those 5 C's over and over and over again, and I'm telling you, man, you're gonna create something that blows your mind. Every problem is a thinking problem. I don't care what your problem is in your life, throw the 5 C's at it. I don't care how big of a mountain you up against, throw the 5 C's at it.
