Coach Jay, a Dallas hypnotherapist, argues that recognizing your true identity flips an internal switch that generates success. He teaches that emotions create motion: if you can feel it, you'll act on it by accident. His method uses the "magic question" (What would I rather have?) and repetition to reprogram the subconscious mind for abundance.

We en route to the office. About to go in here and change some lives, man, because that's what we do. We don't really change lives as much as we just remind people who they are. That's the work. When you remember who you are, it just— it's like flipping a switch. It's like turning the light on. You start shining on accident. If you just turn the light on, you gonna shine. You trying to focus on shining? Nah, just focus on turning the light on. Remember who you are. You know, in the cartoons, when they have a good idea, they get the light bulb above the head. Yeah, get that light bulb above your head. Remember who you are. And always remember this: if you can think it, you can do it. If you can feel it, you'll do it on accident. Your only limit in life is your own imagination. Your only limit in life is your thinking, man. You master that thinking— oh man, oh man— you master that thinking, you become God over your problems. Same way that God made Moses— Moses God over Pharaoh. What did Pharaoh represent? Oppression, limitation, being held back, being held down. But as Moses started to align with God and converse with God and have conversation with God, what did God do? He made Moses God over Pharaoh. You got to get that thinking in order, man. You got to get that internal state. It ain't what's coming out your mouth, it's what's going on in your head. Stuff that don't make it to your mouth, stuff that you don't say out loud. So you got no sense not to say it out loud, but it's still going on in your head. We got to reprogram how you feel. If you change how you feel, you'll accidentally change the way you act. If you change how you feel, you'll accidentally change how you act. On accident. If you can think it, you can do it. If you can feel it, you'll do it on accident. You can think it, you can do it. If you can feel it, you'll do it on accident. Your only limit in life is you. When you look in the mirror, you're looking at the only limitation you've got. You have no limitation outside of yourself. You don't got to convince mama and daddy and brother and sister and husband, wife, girlfriend. You ain't got to convince nobody else. So what if your best friend can't see it? So what if your partner can't see it? God didn't give them the vision. He gave you the vision. You got to sell that vision to your nervous system. You got to sell that vision to your endocrine system. And your two best friends as you do that are going to be repetition and emotion. You got to stir up that emotion over and over and over and over again. Got to understand about the subconscious mind. The subconscious mind, things that are familiar, it pulls them close. Things that are unfamiliar, it pushes them away. So you can really start to look at manifesting as making my desired reality familiar to my nervous system, making my desired reality familiar to my endocrine system. If you got a desire for more money, right? But not enough money is what's familiar. You'll find yourself accidentally sabotaging situations for more money. You find yourself accidentally looking through ideas for more money. You'll look through those ideas like window, but you'll see all the limits around you. You see all the reasons why it's not possible. You'll see the cost of eggs. You'll see the cost of gas, and you get hyperfixated on that because that's what's familiar to your mind. So if you want to manifest abundance, guess what you got to make obvious to your mind? I'm abundant. I'm already wealthy. I already got reliable transportation. I already got a roof over my head. I already got things in the fridge. I already got good ideas. I got ideas in my mind that are worth millions. And as I calibrate to these ideas and energize these ideas and push these ideas out into the world, money has no choice but to flow to me. As you calibrate to that, you accidentally start to feel different. As you feel different, you think different. Now you got access to new ideas. And as you feel different, different people want to associate with you. Different people want to hang out with you. Different people want to date you. Different people want to do business with you. So now you're getting invited in the tech, getting invited to sit at tables that a while ago you weren't getting invited to. Now you finding out that it's events right in your city. Most of the time we think we waiting on God when the whole time God is waiting on us. How is Alpha and Omega? How's the beginning, the middle, and the end waiting on you? Creation is done. What you got to do is start to become aware of what's already here. You've become aware of the problem, but now you got to take your attention off of the problem and become aware of the solution. And where attention goes, energy flows. You're not going to find a solution while you focus on the problem. And I meet so many people that are working on the problem. Stop working on the problem. Stop energizing the problem. Stop using your consciousness to maintain the problem. You got to starve the problem. You got to starve the problem. You got to start feeling better before things out there change. You got to understand that you are a leader. You are a creator. Creators create, okay? So you got to stop responding to reality so that reality can get back in its rightful order and start responding to you, okay? When you responding to reality, you like a dog chasing its own tail. Reality was never in charge. The reality was never meant to be in charge. God didn't give the world dominion over men. God gave men dominion over the world. So when you're looking at what's going on in the world to see how you feel, when you're looking at what type of weather is today, what's my bank balance, how do I look, what What number do I see on the scale? When you putting how you feel based on all that, you putting things out of the order that God put them in. You giving the world dominion over you. You got to take your dominion back. You got to start using your words to create. You got to start looking at what you don't like and saying, okay, what would I rather have? Look at how Genesis opens up. In the beginning, the earth was black, void, and without form. God didn't see that it was dark and go on and complain about how dark it was and how it's unfair and how he got to do everything. He started using his words to create light. He started using his words to orchestrate what he wanted. When you see darkness, you got to let it be your automatic behavior. So it's dark in here. I want some light. Let there be light. Stop getting hypnotized by the darkness. Stop getting hypnotized by the sickness. Stop getting hypnotized by the lack. Now you notice the lack, but once you become aware of the lack, it's time for you to remember, I am a creator. I don't like what I see. Let me use my ability to create. I'm not going to use my ability as a creator To maintain this thing that I don't like. I'm gonna use my ability as a creator to create the life I desire. But I do that by asking myself the magic question. Coach Jay, what is the magic question? What would I rather have? Because I can be, do, and have anything that I desire. What do I want? Most people, when they first step foot into my office, they don't know the answer to that question. They know what they don't want, but they don't know what they would rather have. And oftentimes, I see this so often, people mistake what they want— they mistake The to-do list with what they want. Hey, can you hypnotize me to go to the gym 3 times a week? Absolutely. But first, what do you want? I just told you I want to go to the gym 3 times a week. No, you don't. You don't need me to hypnotize you to do something that you want to do. You feel like you should do that, but you don't want to do it. What do you want? And the real answer is, I want to look good naked. I want stamina for adult activity. I want rock-hard erections. What do you want? I want to look good at the beach with my shirt off. My wife recently lost some weight. She's looking good. I want to keep up. I don't want to get left behind. That's what you want. And that's the foundation. I— when I teach this thing I call the 5 C's, the first C is clarity. But the first level of clarity that I want you to get is not what you want to happen out there. How do you want to feel in here? Because if we create that feeling in here, if you want to be wealthy out there, you ain't got no choice but to get wealthy in here first. You can win the lottery, and if you don't somehow become wealthy in here, You're gonna separate yourself from the money. You can marry a rich person. If you don't somehow become wealthy in here, you're gonna separate yourself from the money. You can go to a new relationship, but if you don't change what's going on in here, you're gonna manifest the same circumstances. You're dating the same person in a different outfit. You gotta hold it in your head before you can hold it in your hands. But before you can hold it in your hands, you gotta know what it is. Example that I use all the time when I go live is imagine if you are a taxi driver And somebody got in your taxi and said, hey, don't take me to the mall. I hate the mall. It's too expensive. I do not like them. I'm not paying $300, $400 for no one pair of shoes. I'm not paying $175 for no one pair of jeans. They got me messed up, man. Oh, you go to the mall? You stupid. I don't know. I hate them all. Where do you want to go? I understand that you don't like them all. So an example of how I would like this work in life is I want you to get in that Uber. He said, where you going? And say, I tell you what, we ain't going. We're not going to the mall. Man, there's this store downtown that I love. The prices are good. Big blue building, you can't miss it. I want you to start using the destination you don't want to go to get clarity about where you want to go. I want you to start using the destination that you don't want to go to to get crystal clear about where you do want to go. I remember being in the military. I did not like being in the military. I didn't like being in the military because I couldn't wear my nose ring, I couldn't wear my earrings, I couldn't grow my hair, I couldn't grow my beard. Couldn't live where I wanted to live. I was seeing my family once a year, if that. I didn't like that. And for several years, I was talking about how I didn't like it. I would find other people who didn't like it, and we would talk about how we didn't like it. But as we were talking about how we didn't like it, we kept going on deployments, we kept going on TDYs, we kept being in the military. My whole life changed when I started saying, you know what I'd rather have? I don't want to work. I want to play for a living. I don't want my paycheck connected to these stripes on my shoulder. I want my paycheck connected to my creativity and my passion. I want to do something. I want to play for a living. I want to get paid to do things that I would do for free. I want to get paid to talk about mindset. I want to get paid to talk about self-development. I want to get paid to help people rewire internal state. You know what? I think I'm gonna go back to school. I'm gonna become a clinically trained hypnotherapist. I want to hypnotize people for a living. And that brings it to another point. I can remember when I was getting ready to go to the military, my mom, my grandmother, people who love me dearly, say, you can't go. You're not going to the military. You can't do that. No, you can't. You can't do that. Why would you do that? Why would you? See you when I get back. But at the same time later, a few years later, when I was at the same time a few years later, when I said, "Hey y'all, I'm gonna get out of the military. I'm gonna become a clinically trained hypnotherapist." How how you gonna do that? Why would you get out of the military? You got these good benefits and you got a fam. You got a family to. You can't just get out of the military. The same people was telling me I couldn't go in was telling me I couldn't get out. But it didn't matter. It wasn't their. Vision. Stop feeling like you got to get buy-in from everybody else in your life. You don't got— you don't got to convince nobody but you. And what you got to understand is it's a full-time job convincing you. It's a full-time job convincing you. So why would you waste that time that you could be spending convincing you? Why would you waste that time convincing somebody else? They'll catch up. They'll see it. They'll see it when they see it. And now when they see it, they ain't got no choice but to believe it. And if they see it and still not believing it, that's what we call hating. And that's not your problem, that's their problem. Tell them to book a session with Jay so they can fix it. If you can think it, you can do it. Your only limit in life is your own imagination. Your only limit in life is your own imagination. If you can think it, you can do it. If you can feel it, you'll do it on accident. Whenever I'm doing self-development work on myself, whenever I'm doing self-development work with one of my clients, my goal is never to change the behavior. My goal is always to change how they feel, because I know if I change how you feel, I'll accidentally change the way you behave. I don't gotta make you stop eating carbs and go to the gym and drink more water. If I get you to feel— if I get you feeling sexy, if I get you feeling strong, if I get you feeling like you can run through a brick wall, you accidentally start going to the gym and you accidentally start feeling like, hey, them carbs gonna separate me from this. I don't want those carbs. Give me that protein. I need more green in my— if I change how you feel, I accidentally change how you behave. Think about it. When you feel sad, you express sad on accident. You do sad on accident. When you feel happy, you accidentally change your body language. When you feel depressed, you don't— nobody don't got to make you stay in the bed. You want to stay in the bed. But when you feel excited, you accidentally— when you feel motivated, when you feel confident, you'll accidentally throw your shoulders back, put your chest out, and put your chin up. So in your self-development journey, I want you to stop working on behavior and start working on feeling. How would I feel How would I need to feel to accidentally take those actions? What feelings would I need to give birth to that desire? That's one of the most hypnotic things you can do for yourself when you really get into human nature and like influence, how to influence people. One of the, the core at the basis of that is this rule right here. People do things for one reason and one reason only, and that one reason is because they want to. Not because you want them to, not because— because they want to. So the question should not be, how do I get myself to do this thing? How do I get myself to want to do this thing? And anybody who tell you different, they don't know what they talking about. They think they know what they're talking about, they might be well-meaning, but they don't know what they talking about. And they finna send you on the scenic route to change. Change those feelings. That's what the Bible talking about when it said you can't put old wine in new bottles. You can't put a new behavior in the same mindset. That new behavior is going to require new neurology to latch on to. If the neurology isn't there, you, you might can use willpower to do it for a day or two, but you're not going to build a long-term change off of pure willpower. You got to change the way you feel. When you change the way you feel, I'm telling you, you're gonna accidentally change the way you behave. If you want my help changing the way you feel, I'm pretty sure the, the buttons and stuff is down there. Hypnosis Dallas. Or you can text book to 972-525-4988. If you're in the beautiful city of Dallas, you can pull up on me in person. If you're not in Dallas, book you a virtual session. Let's get on Zoom. If you could think it, you could do it. But if you could feel it, you'll do it on accident. Thinking creates the potential, feeling creates the motion. How do I need to feel so that I accidentally do the things that I need to do? How do I need to feel so that I accidentally do the things that I need to do? And as you start taking that route into your self-development journey, oh man, oh man, watch how quickly and easily you start to level up. And I'm not saying it's not going to be work to do, but when you clear, calibrated, and confident— what I call our foundational 3 C's— when you clear, calibrated, and confident, excuse me, the work feels like play. The work Feels like play. It's not something that you got to do, it's something that you get to do. We all know people who love going to the gym. They clear, calibrated, and confident. They love going to the gym. You're not gonna interrupt their workout time. You're not feeling— you're not gonna stop them from going to the gym. They don't— they're not using willpower to go. They want to go. You out of your mind if you think people like Michael Jordan, if you think people like Kobe Bryant, if you think people like Muhammad Ali were going off of willpower. Yeah, I'm not. Those people weren't going off of willpower. They felt like the best. They felt like— when you feel like a champion, you accidentally practice like a champion. When you feel like a champion, you accidentally eat like a champion. They felt like champions. Floyd Mayweather, since he was a little boy, had people around him telling him that he's the greatest of all time. He felt like a champion. He was programmed to think champion. He was programmed to activate champion. Mike Tyson's trainer was a hypnotist. He, he convinced Mike Tyson he was the baddest man alive. If you feel like the baddest Man alive, you're gonna accidentally act like the baddest man alive. You hear other athletes talk about what it's like to be in the same room as Michael Jordan. They talk about it's this aura that comes off him. That's energy, my friend. That's years and years and years and years of focus. That's years and years and years and years of running the thought, I'm the GOAT, I'm the greatest of all time, I'm the best to ever do it, I'm the best to ever touch a basketball. If you build that belief in your nervous system, you accidentally produce the behavior to align with it. But what people want to do is they want to see behavior, external behavior, and external results to justify the feeling. One of the first things I tell athletes when I work with them is you don't get a trophy and then become a champion. What happens is you become a champion, and if you just become a champion, you'll accidentally get a trophy. If you waiting on the trophy to turn on your champion, you'll never get a trophy. But if you turn on your champion, guess what every champion already has? A trophy. If you turn on your champion, you gonna accidentally start practicing different. If you turn on your champion, you gonna accidentally start eating different. If you turn on your champion, you gonna accidentally start holding yourself accountable and start holding your teammates accountable differently. But if you waiting on the trophy to go, okay, now I'm a champion, bro, it's too late. The trophy already with the person who was in the mindset. Get clear about what you want. Get calibrated to what you want. You got to start thinking about what you want. Think about it. When you focus on what you don't want, do you got to try to get upset? When you focus on what you don't want, do you got to try to feel down? Do you got to try to feel stressed? Do you got to try to feel overwhelmed? Or does that happen on accident? Let me tell you this. When you get clear about what you want, what you really want, and you start focusing on what you want, you start imagining having what you want, you start sending your neurology in the direction of what you want, you're gonna accidentally get confident. You're gonna accidentally come up with some really good ideas. And the dope thing about really good ideas is, is they bring the necessary energy for their execution. When you got a really good idea, you don't need a pep talk to go execute something that you feel like a really— oh, I can't wait to get to work, I got a good idea. Oh, I can't wait to get to my laptop, I got a good— when you got a good idea, you don't, you don't got to be coached to go do it. It's something that you can't wait to do. Get clear about what you want. Start calibrating what you want so you can become confident in what you want, and you can accidentally start attracting the right people, circumstances, and opportunities into your life.
