Muhammad Ali used vivid metaphors like "float like a butterfly, sting like a bee" to shift his emotional state, not just repeat words. The idea: feeling fast makes you move fast, feeling creative makes you create. Vision boards and journaling only work if they change how you actually feel first.

One of my favorite people to watch do affirmations is Muhammad Ali. I love the way Muhammad Ali do affirmations. I'm pretty. I'm 25 years old and ain't a scratch on my face. I'm sexy. I'm him. Like, he, he gets so involved in the affirmation that it moves him emotionally. If it doesn't move you emotionally, it's never gonna move you physically. I flow like a butterfly, sting like a bee. The hands can't touch what the eyes can't see. I'm fast. I'm lightning fast. I'm so fast when I turn off the light at night, I'm in bed before the room is even dark. But he's using metaphor. He's using energy. He's changing how he feels. When you feel fast, guess what? You move faster. When you feel creative, guess what? You are creating. When you feel smart, you think better. Change how you feel. The affirmations, the vision board, the affirmations, the journal, the focus wheel. All these different tools, the reason you do those tools is to change how you feel. If you don't change the way you feel, it's not going to change the way you act because it's not going to impress the subconscious mind until it changes how it feels.
