A streamer describes the early days of going live alone on camera, watching a cat and picking his nails, waiting for viewers to show up. He compares it to a Netflix movie that won't play until enough people join, capturing the frustration of building an audience from zero.
Now they came in here and I was like, oh man, ain't nobody in here. I'm just sitting over here looking at the cat. Who want to watch me pick my nails? If you clicked on something on Netflix and it was somebody, they was like, oh yeah, it's you the only one here right now. We ain't gonna really start the movie till 8 people get in here, till 100 people get— you gonna go click on something else to watch.
