Jay Shaw argues that rest isn't laziness for entrepreneurs, it's a revenue skill. Constant reactive work like juggling website copy and design kills your thinking time. Meditation and vision work beat grinding.

A lot of us were raised to believe that rest was weakness and that sitting still was a waste of time. So now as entrepreneurs, we feel guilty if we aren't grinding 24/7. But let me give you another perspective. A lot of the entrepreneurs I meet, they're so busy grinding that they don't got time to make any money. They're doing everything at once, building the website as they write the copy, as they pick the colors, as they design the offer, and they wondering why it's not converting. It feels rushed. It feels chaotic because you're scared to sit down long enough and think it through. I see it in the websites. I see it in the packaging. I see it in the offer. Everything feels like a reaction instead of the download. As an entrepreneur, at some point you got to stop working in the business and start working on the vision. And that type of strategy requires stillness. It requires space. It requires a nervous system that's not afraid to be still. Stillness isn't lazy. Rest isn't optional. Rest is actually a revenue skill. And you got to understand that you don't got to earn your rest. What you got to do is unlearn the guilt that you have around resting. There's times where I might just be sitting at the house in my recliner and my girl say, what you doing? I say, working. And she go, work? Yes, working. I'm, I'm an entrepreneur. I'm a creator. I'm an, I'm an innovator. I don't get paid to do what's already been done. I make my most money when I'm introducing something new. It's never been seen before. I'm saying it in a way that has never been said before. I'm handing it out. I'm presenting it in a way that has never been presented before. I don't have time to do that if I'm always grinding. I don't have time to think. I don't have time to meditate. I don't have time to pray if I'm always go, go, go, go, go. If you're an entrepreneur and you're not making time to be still and know that I am God— be still— you're leaving a lot of money on the table and introducing a whole bunch of Unnecessary stress and cortisol into your life. Sit down. I know that your parents are well-meaning, but you're grown now and nobody's gonna whoop your ass if you sit down. It's okay.
