Hypnosis in the sales process đź’° (hypnosis and bullshit pt1)

Bigger Buddy and Tone explore how hypnosis techniques work in sales, arguing that mastering hypnotic patterns like rapport-building and voice control makes you more persuasive. They stress internalizing scripts so you sound natural, not read, and adapting your language to how clients think visually or physically.

Yo, welcome back to whatever the hell we calling this. It's so new, ain't even got a name yet. We throwing some different stuff around. Reset.
But yo, business and bullshit. I like business and bullshit.
Business and bullshit. Y'all give us some feedback in the comments, bro. It's your boy Bigger Buddy. I'm here with Tone. Just Tone. Oh, that's hard. Just Tone.
One word, man.
Just Tone.
One word. I'm thinking about switching my, uh, handle from, uh, Louisiana to the Yachty tune makes me more other state friendly, even though everybody love people from Louisiana.
They do. That was one of my biggest selling points when I was up north.
I forgot to take these off. Bitches don't know.
Shit, take them off. We gonna just start from the top.
All right.
But, um, business and bullshit, hypnosis, man talk, people talk. People talk. We're still figuring out exactly what this is, but we wanted to get some new content out. So what are we talking about today, bro?
So yeah, it's been something I've been trying to get with you for a minute about, and it's like hypnosis, the hypnosis that goes into selling things.
For sure.
Uh, not necessarily marketing, but like selling and closing, you know. And, um, so since I've been, you know, working in sales, I've been in the back of my head thinking, oh, a lot of this is hypnosis because, you know, we have our script, uh, and the script is very like fine-tuned and, you know what I'm saying, like it's a living document. Like, I just got a new script It's got a lot of the components of the old script, but it's like, oh, we're going to add this in there, we're going to switch it out. So, you know what I'm saying, make other parts of the process a little bit easier and make it more smoother and more flowy. But yeah, I wanted to talk to you about, uh, the hypnosis that go into selling things, the hypnosis that go into closing the sale.
Okay.
And because a lot of it is, um, value building, uh, rapport building, because people—
Big word in hypnosis.
People, people, uh, buy things from people that they trust.
And like—
And like, you know, um, what was it? It was another, it was another big component in there too that Just, it just screamed hypnosis while we were talking sales.
Even when you talk about the scripts, like, um, a lot of hypnotists use scripts. We call them scriptiness.
Like, you can get online and find— Are they bad? Do you look down? Is that like a, uh, a mark on the hypnosis community?
I think when you learn hypnosis, you should read a lot of scripts just to learn, um, just to develop your hypnotic So it's a training wheel hypnotizer. Yeah, but the thing about when you— you should know your scripts and know them well, but when you reading the script, you're not looking at your client, and so you missing subtle things because you, you so busy in the script that you not noticing, oh, they just went into trance. Like, so if you— if I'm reading, I'm not looking at you. Yeah, so I need to—
yeah, go ahead, my bad.
Oh no, you good. But if I got the script in here and I know it well enough, it give me, it give me a lot of freedom. If it ain't going well, I know it well enough to leave it and come back to it. Uh, if I notice that a person is visual and I get to a part of my script that's anchored towards a kinesthetic person, I can just skip over that part. So knowing the script is definitely a good foundation because it gives you the, the freedom to I'm gonna skip that part. But if you reading it and you like, I'm trying to skip that part, you gotta figure out where to jump back in.
Dog walked.
Right.
And that's not hypnotic.
That's not hypnotic at all. And people can tell when you reading. People can definitely tell when you reading. So scripts, I don't—
Even the best reader.
Right. I don't shit on scripts. There's definitely a place for them. Even when you go into my library, You're gonna see books with Ericksonian scripts and all these different hypnosis scripts, and I study those in my free time. But when I am hypnotizing somebody, I just trust that my subconscious has grabbed onto the information from the scripts, and I roll with it. Like, the person who wrote that script, they know they had a place in mind where they was going, and they had a clear direction. Clear direction.
From their standpoint, yeah, they had a clear direction of where this script needs to take—
needs to go.
But that's also like, like me working in radio. I write my own scripts. And granted, it's not something I like to do, but it's something that's necessary because I can't be live and forget my words.
Right.
And I have the— I have the— what's the word— the advantage or the pleasure of not having people look at me, you know.
Oh yeah, that's a big one.
And even with television, you know, they have teleprompters and things like that, so you still have to be a good reader. But I feel like when you write the script, you know, you can interject your voice and things like that. When you're reading the script, it's going to always sound like reading. So the— a big component of working in sales is knowing, remembering, memorizing the script like as if you're an actor.
Yeah, for sure.
Is a lot of acting in hypnosis?
Yeah, hypnosis is.
You gotta kind of create a character.
Rule number one of being a hypnotist is be the hypnotist. Anthony Jaquin goes deep into it in his book Reality Is Plastic. He talked about how the first thing—
oh, that's about hypnosis. I heard that book. Reality is Plastic. Yeah, that's a hypnotist. Oh, okay.
But, um, That's rule number one: be the hypnotist. In order for me to be able to hypnotize you, I gotta look like somebody who can't. Like I need to be a whole icon.
Calm down.
I need or something. You gotta necessarily be calm.
But still, you gotta, you gotta.
But you gotta be.
Yeah.
Something about your energy needs.
You gotta pull out the watch.
Yeah. Something about your energy needs to say I can put a motherfucker to sleep. Like you can't be. Your energy can't be. It might work. You gotta have a way of. When you say stuff, you need to sound like it came out the Bible. We need to have that same oomph of, for God so loved the world. You need to have that same kind of— because I say, hey, in a minute I'm gonna tell you go to sleep, and you're not gonna go to sleep.
Oh, them ums. Them ums will ruin the deal because sometimes you don't even know what you're talking about.
Because you got a Barack Obama who can skillfully put an um on your ass.
I don't know Barack Obama really hitting them. He not because he he don't really hit um. He'll hear like ah yeah da da da da da da da da da. I'll just be smooth. You know what I'm saying? He he play it off real good. Yeah yeah. Because I guess it is technically um.
Yeah I do like principles over rules. Because like a lot of people be like never do that. So it's like sometimes when I'm working with people, especially with stuff like public speaking, if they doing one of the nevers and we having a hard time making them stop the never, my next question would be, how can we make it your own? Yeah, like you, you met like quirky salesmen. I know some hypnotists that got really high-pitched annoying voices.
I know some salesmen that— Same thing, and they close.
And when you learn hypnosis, they They tell you, you want to use a deep, slow, calming, maternal voice. But I met some people who are like, and you got to go deep and deep and deep. And you're like, that shit ain't gonna work. But you see, they like, they be putting people— Right.
So, because it's like, it's like with a voice like that, I can't take you serious enough to even combat you mentally. You're not even trying to do what you're trying to do. But it's just regular.
Some people make it their own though.
No, but, but yeah, but I'm saying that's them once they make it their own. It's like whoever— I'm speaking from a sales perspective but trying to translate it into like, um, hypnosis. Yeah, but like even with, you know, like the goofy dude, hey, you, you want to get the duck done? It goes back. Yeah. Close.
Can close.
Because it's like, it's not traditional, it's not technical, it's not— but it's like whatever they did, they figured it out, they made it their own, and it's disarming. Because, because a salesman is like, yeah, and, but wait, there's more.
And in my opinion, that's the dude you don't want to be in sales.
That's the dude that you don't want to be in sales, because that's a salesman, not a closer.
You know how I sell? I take like the doctor approach.
I was just, I was just, I was just literally—
how long your arm been hurting?
Exactly.
Okay, exactly.
But that's something I just came across today.
Yeah.
And, and that, uh, I came across that in a video of psychology. So now I'm seeing that there's, there's All right, you know the graph?
Which one?
2 circles, like a Venn diagram. Circle hypnosis, circle sales.
Do them like this.
In the middle section— Just go ahead and make them 2 big circles. But in the middle section is psychology in both. Like, that might be the meeting point. But I still feel like, and I still want to figure out, how and where to put hypnosis into the sales and everything. I look at hypnosis as a— Well, I guess mastering it on my end.
I look at hypnosis as a language. Like, you can say something in English, you can say something in Chinese, you can say something in Spanish, you can say something in hypnosis. Like, it's— to me, that's the simplest way I can think of it. It's a language. And like, I don't speak French, but I know Bon Jovi, Jimi Hendrix, Bigger button. Like I, I know a lot of now. If I study a lot, if I study French a lot more, I'm gonna get a lot more fluent in it. Yeah. Oh, I passed. I was cheating off. Passed. I passed with an A. Madame Asali loved me.
Madame Asali did not like me. She did not like me.
Jay, parlez beaucoup. You parlez beaucoup.
And it was, it was a D, but when it comes to electives and that spelling, she used to watch me cheat.
I used to cheat off Tiana paper. Tiana Smith. Yeah, she used to let me cheat. Madam Saleh. Yeah, you know, my model in high school is if you ain't cheating, you ain't trying.
I ain't learned that motto till college.
If you ain't cheating, you ain't trying.
I learned that motto till college.
