Coach Jay Shaw walks through his Identity 2.0 framework for peak performance, arguing that external results come from internal identity. He uses hypnotherapy and visualization to help viewers feel successful before external metrics catch up, citing Neville Goddard's principle that feeling the desired outcome unlocks automatic behavior.

Let's drop that down a little bit. Feel like I'm screaming. I'm trying to stream, not scream. What's good? How y'all doing, man? Welcome to the live. Welcome to the live. Welcome to the live. Welcome to the live. Let me get some electrolytes in my body while I chop it up with y'all. Let's mix this up real quick while I talk to y'all. What's up? What's up? How y'all doing, man? This your first time rocking with me? I'm Coach Jay, the high performance hypnotist. I work with athletes, entrepreneurs, executives, founders, day traders, MMA fighters. You name it, man. Help people with things like imposter syndrome, second guessing their self, procrastination, burnout. Overthinking, performance anxiety. I'm a big believer that every problem is a thinking problem. If you could think it, you could do it. If you can't think it, go sit down. Go sit down, but not sit down as in give up on yourself. Sit down because that's the that's the perfect time to think. Sit down, kick your feet up, close your eyes, take a deep breath, and get a clear picture of what it is that you would like to build. How it is that you would like to show up and really start to pose yourself this question: How would I think? How would I expect? How would I believe if I already had the result I wanted? That's what you got to get in the habit of asking yourself—not how do I get the thing—but if I already had the thing, what would be my internal dialogue? How would I be existing in my body? What would be my story of the past and how I came to acquire the thing? And you got to start living from there. You got to start deciding from there. That's how I like to use hypnosis. Not how do I make the money show up? How do I make the relationship show up? Who would I be if I already had it? If I already had that result, who would I be? And we start being that version of ourselves. That's how we approach it. That's the Identity 2.0 way. The thoughts become things. The expectations become things. That story that you tell yourself, I don't know if you understand how important it is. But oh man, it's important. You got to start telling that story on purpose. Most people, their identity is a result of what they've been through, what they've lived through, what they've witnessed. You have to sit down and architect you an identity. You have to sit down and design you an identity, not what has happened to me. What you got to design an identity based on what you would like to happen to you, based on where you would like to end up, based on what you would like to be doing. What you would like to be having. What's going on, CB? How you doing?

The outside, the inside creates the outside.
Do you have any videos to help with chronic pain? Here with chronic pain, it's over 800 videos. It got to be at least one on pain. It has to be at least one. Has to be. It's not my focus, but I just feel like I remember making one. Most of my videos are going to be Confidence, self-esteem, access, and creativity is going to be for the high performer audience. So athletes, entrepreneurs, executives, founders, day traders. But yeah, it got to be a few videos in there about pain. It ain't no way it hasn't come up over the years. And if you don't see one, let me know. I can make something. Hypnosis is a great tool for managing pain, especially chronic pain. So if you don't see anything in there, let me know. But I feel like I remember making one, especially back when my grandmother was sick. I think it was a few recordings that I made for her that I, um, that I put into the pile. Yeah, we're just gonna chop it up a little bit before I have to go pick my little man up from school. See what y'all getting into. Where you from, Purple? We're about to start going live on YouTube a lot more. We go live on TikTok a lot, so I want to start just jumping over on YouTube, seeing what y'all got going on. We upload a lot over here, but I haven't been really taking opportunity of the live situation over here, so we're gonna be coming over here, hanging out, testing the waters, man. And just building out some more content over here. As y'all come in, say something. Say what's up. Let me know where you tapping in from. I'm based out of Dallas, Texas. I love streaming, man. I like talking about the mind. I love talking about human potential. I like talking about the fact that we could be doing have anything we desire. Anything. Nothing can stop you. Nothing can stop you. Your only limit in life is your own imagination. If you can imagine it, you could do it. Now, if you can't imagine it, you're going to have a hard time doing something you can't imagine. But the good news is that you can imagine anything you want to imagine. You just got to— excuse me— sit down and make the time to do it. You got to start sitting down and using your mind on purpose. Most people only using their mind to respond to what's already been created. You're cheating yourself if you do that, though. You are a creator. You get a say in what's going on out there. You get a vote. But the way that you submit your vote is by sitting down, using your imagination on purpose. You don't got to give your attention to what's already been created. You don't got to give all of your attention to what's already here. You get a vote about what's to come, and you got to build it in here. You can't build anything out there that you haven't already built in here. Everything was an idea before it was a thing. YouTube was a concept in somebody's mind before it was an app, before it was a website that could all use. Before it was billions of videos, it was in somebody's head. The job that you work at, the car that you drive, the house that you live in— it was all just an idea once upon a time. You gotta start making time to sit down and dream, man. I'm telling you, if you could think it, you could do it. Ain't nobody else more talented than you, more special than you, more gifted than you. They just making time to think on purpose. Start thinking on purpose and watch what you accomplish on accident. You should be sitting down daily using your imagination on purpose. You should be asking yourself daily, what do I want? Not what do I have? Not what have I been? What do I want? What do I want? And whatever the answer to that question is, sit with it. Sit with it.
You don't have to find the ideas.
The ideas will find you. You don't have to find the money. The money will find you. Your job is to control your focus. People skip over all the stuff that they can control and try to control the stuff that's out of their control. Control what you can control. Control what's going on in here. Control what's going on in here. Control your focus. Control your attention. And if you just use your attention on purpose, I promise you, you'll come up with some real cool stuff on accident, man. You will meet some real cool people on accident. You'll find yourself accidentally walking into the right place, saying the right stuff to the right people at the right time. You end up with some contacts in your phone. You end up with some business cards in your wallet. You end up with some relationships that turn into something. It's not about how do I make it happen. It's about how do I make me think the way that I need to think so that I'm the type of person that those things happen to? How do I make myself feel the way that I need to feel so that I become the type of person that those things happen to? Neville Goddard was not lying when he said feeling is the secret. Feeling is the secret. I say it all the time. If you could think it, you could do it. But if you can feel it, you'll do it on accident. Think about it. When you feel upset, when you feel pissed off, won't you accidentally stomp your feet? Won't you accidentally raise your voice? Won't you accidentally slam the door when you feel pissed off? See how your behavior accidentally follows your feelings?
You don't got to work on the behavior.
You got to work on controlling how you feel, and you got to give yourself permission to feel successful while the bank account still look the way it look. You got to give yourself permission to feel successful while the calendar still look the way it look, while the credit score still look the way it look, while the doctor's report still look the way that it look. You got to give yourself permission to feel different. All the good ideas are behind a new feeling. All of the good opportunities are behind a new feeling. All of the new circumstances are behind a new feeling. If you don't learn how to control your feelings, you're going to be at the mercy of what's going on out there. And why would you be under the mercy of what's going on out there if you don't have to? You are a creator, man. Think about that. You are a creator, man. You are a creator, sir. Ain't nothing you can't be. Ain't nothing you can't do. Ain't nothing you can't have. Your only limit is your own imagination. And when you start using that imagination on purpose, You're going to accomplish some amazing things on accident. When you start using your imagination on purpose, you're going to accidentally roll your shoulders back, put your chest out, put your chin up, and start walking in rooms with command.
You're going to accidentally start shaking hands with command and maintaining eye contact. You're going to accidentally start going into some new environments. You'll accidentally change your YouTube algorithm.
You'll accidentally read some new books. You're going to do a lot of cool things on accident if you start using your imagination on purpose.
You're not playing small on purpose. You're not shrinking on purpose.
You're not giving up on purpose.
It's a direct result of how you're using your imagination. You don't have to manage your behavior. You got to manage your mind.
I tell my clients all the time, you don't use willpower to change your behavior. You use willpower to change your mind.
If you change your mind, you'll accidentally act different. You don't got to make yourself act different. You don't got to make yourself stop second-guessing. You don't got to make yourself stop being anxious. You got to make yourself Imagine different. The brain is a prediction machine. The brain is constantly making predictions and then asking itself, what do I need to do to survive this prediction that I just made? The brain makes a prediction and then asks itself, what do I need to do to survive this prediction that I just made? If you're someone that's struggling with anxiety, you got to understand that if the brain is predicting I'm not safe, People are out to get me. The world is out to get me. Anxiety is a healthy response to that prediction. It's not about how do I stop the anxiety. It's about how do I stop the prediction that the answer isn't— that the answer to that prediction is anxiety. I don't got to stop the anxiety. I got to stop the prediction that's causing me to be anxious. I don't got to stop the overthinking. I got to stop the prediction that's giving birth to the overthinking. It's about changing the prediction. It's about changing that internal dialogue.
It's about changing the expectation.
It's about getting under the influence of what you want instead of being under the influence of what you don't want. Most people live life under the influence of what they don't want. Most people live life through the lens of what they don't want to happen. So it's like getting in a taxi and instead of giving the driver a destination, you're giving the driver a list of places where you don't want to go. I don't want to go to the mall. I hate the mall. It's too expensive.
Okay, where do you want to go?
I don't like the mall. It's too expensive. Okay, where do you want to go? I don't like the mall. It's too expensive. It's too many people there. I don't like them all. Okay, I get it.
You don't like them all.
That doesn't change that you got to answer this question.
Where do you want to go?
I know you might not like your job. I know it might be some things going on in your life that you don't want. Cool. What do you want? What would you rather have?
And you got to get to a place where you can describe what you want just as vividly as you describe what you don't want. You got to get to a place where you got the same type of energy, where you got the same type of enthusiasm when you talk about what you want as you got when you talk talk about what you don't want. Most people get hyped when you see them talking about what they don't want. They got all of this energy, they got hand gestures, they got facial expressions, they got stories, they got examples, they got evidence, they got proof when they talk about what they don't want. But when you talk about what you do want, you tend to get vague. I want to live on my highest timeline. I want financial freedom. I want peace.
No, where's all that detail that you had when you was talking about what you didn't want? You had a whole lot of detail. Where is that detail Where is that, that level of attention? Where is that enthusiasm that you had when you was talking about what you don't want? Where is that at?
Where is that at? Bring that in. And then you're going to accidentally start having your endocrine system release new chemicals. You're going to accidentally change your body language. You're going to accidentally change your energetic signature. You're going to accidentally change your expectation patterns and your somatic identity when you start focusing on what you want. Listen to me. If you can think it, you can do it. If you can think it, you can do it. And if you can feel it, you'll do it on accident. Neville Goddard was not lying to you when he said feeling is the secret. Neville Goddard was not lying to you when he said feeling is the secret. How would I feel if I already had the things that I desire?
How did I—
how would I feel if I was already getting the results that I wanted out of life? Before you can get access to the ideas, before you can get access to the circumstances, before you can get access to the opportunities, you got to give yourself permission to step into that feeling. Feeling is the doorway to everything that you want. When you feel less than, you think less than. When you feel not good enough, you think not good enough. You walk not good enough. Your energetic signature is I'm not good enough. The way that you escape that is by giving yourself permission to feel different.
I work with a lot of athletes.
I always tell my athletes, you don't get a trophy and then become a champion. What happens is you become a champion. You become a champion. Now, when you become a champion, you're gonna accidentally tie your shoes a little tighter. When you become a champion, you're gonna accidentally roll your shoulders back, put your chest out, put your chin up. When you become a champion, you're gonna accidentally start showing up to practice early and leaving practice late, because that's the type of stuff that champions do. When you become a champion, you're gonna accidentally start watching more film, because that's the type of stuff that champions do. When become a champion, you're gonna accidentally hold yourself to a higher standard. You're gonna accidentally hold your teammates to a higher standard, and y'all gonna accidentally win a trophy because that's what champions do. But if you waiting on a trophy before you step into that identity of champion, you'll never get a trophy. Does that make sense? If you waiting on a trophy before you step into the identity of champion, you'll never get a trophy. Trophies don't make champions, champions make trophies. I'm gonna say it again. Trophies don't make champions. Champions make trophies. Money doesn't make millionaires. Millionaires make money. If you waiting on the money before you step into the identity of millionaire, you'll never get the money. You got to step into the identity of millionaire before you even got access to millionaire ideas. You got to step into that identity before you can even walk into the environments and shake hands, before you even got the confidence to introduce yourself. Identity gives you access to all of that. But if you need the money before you got access to the identity, you can't have the money. Identity first. What would be my identity if I already had those things? What would be my internal dialogue? How would I describe me to me? What would be going on in my body? Well, how would I be breathing? Would my shoulders be all hunched over? Would my shoulders be back? Would my chest be open? Would my diaphragm be open? What would be my story of the past if I already had these things that I desire? What would be my behavioral responses if I already was the type of person that got those types of results? And as you sit in that, I'm telling you, man, you got access to ideas that you don't got access to from outside of that. As you sit in that, you got access to people and their resources that you can't get access to from outside of that. There's people right now who want to go viral. If you want to go viral, You got to go ahead and build the identity of the— if I was already the type of person who went viral consistently, what would be my internal dialogue as I sat down to create content? What would I expect as I sat down to create content? What would be my story of the past around making content?
You got to go brick by brick and you got to build this identity.
It's crazy that we live in a world where people have designer bags and purses and belts and hats and clothes, but you don't have a designer identity. Your external has been designed, your external has been picked out and coordinated, but the stuff going on inside of here is a mix, a random mixture of what you've been through, what you've lived through, and what you've witnessed. That's insane. That's insane. You trying to dress up the outside, but you neglecting the inside when everybody knows—
I don't know if everybody knows, but you're about to know—
the outside mirrors the inside. If I take care of the inside, I'll accidentally take care of the outside. When you working on the outside but you neglecting the inside, that would be the equivalent of one of you guys saying, hey Coach J, you got something on your face. And instead of wiping my face, I start wiping my camera. You would think I was insane. You go, why is he wiping the camera? And I'm just sitting here going, hold on y'all, I'm trying to get this off of my face.
