Coach Jay Shaw argues that vague goals paralyze you, not lack of discipline. His three-step clarity snapshot: pick a number, describe what it looks like, set a deadline. He walks through a weight-loss example (179 lb, 34-inch waist, November 15 2025) and a visualization to feel what that version of you feels.

Discipline isn't your problem. A lack of clarity is. You're trying to knock out these vague-ass goals, and that's why you start strong and then stall. The brain won't sprint towards fog. Clarity will turn that fog into coordinates. When the target is vivid and felt, your nervous system stops fighting you. Do this 3-step clarity snapshot right now. Number 1, the number, the exact metric you want. Number 2, size, the tangible form that it takes. And number 3, the date, the non-negotiable deadline. If you're doing weight loss, not get fit, do this. The number, 179. I want to weigh 179 pounds. The size, 34 waist, large shirts fit relaxed. The date, November 15th, 2025. Now picture looking in the mirror on that morning. Feel it. Feel it. How does it feel? What's your body language like? What type of thoughts are running through your mind as you sit in there? Go through that process with any one of your goals, and what's going to happen is it's going to make it familiar to your subconscious mind. It's going to make it familiar to your nervous system, and you don't procrastinate what's familiar. You want to do what's familiar. Try it out. Get in the comments down below.
