Coach Jay Shaw breaks down his 5 C's system: clarity, calibration, confidence, competence, and consistency. Most people skip the first three and jump straight to action, which fails. Real change happens when you visualize until your nervous system believes it, then take concrete actions that embody the desired state, like paying extra on bills to feel abundant.

We keep calibrating. We calibrate over and over and over and over and over again until we hit the 3rd C, which is confidence. Confidence in Coach Jay's world is when your nervous system starts to do the calibration for you. At first, you was using your conscious mind to calibrate to this clarity, but you do that so many times that your subconscious mind takes over the calibration process And that's what we call confidence. That makes sense. Put confidence in the chat if we understand what the confidence phase is about. We get clear about what we want. After we get clear about what we want, we start calibrating to what we want. We keep calibrating. We calibrate over and over and over and over and over again. So our nervous system say, okay, I got it. I could do that for you. That's what confidence is. Then and only then do we go to step 4. I'll say step 4 in the chat. This part is so important because a lot of people think that step 4 is step 1, and this is why their results all screwed up. This is why their results all screwed up, because they treating step 4 like step 1, and step 4 is not step 1, it's step 4. Okay, so step 4 is competence. Step four is where we do the stuff. Step four is where we take the action. Step four is where we build the website. Step four is where we go to the networking event. Step four is where we go to the gym. Step four is where we start the new diet, the new way of eating. That's not step one. That's not step two. That's not step three. That's step four. A lot of times people say things like Coach Jay, I tried networking. It doesn't work. Let me tell you something. Nothing works when you're unclear, uncalibrated, and unconfident. Coach Jay, I tried, I tried the keto diet. That doesn't work. Nothing works when you're unclear, uncalibrated, and unconfident. Does that make sense? Get clear, get calibrated, get confident, then go live on TikTok. Why would I want to watch you on TikTok Live if you're not clear, if you're not calibrated, if you're not confident? And you saying TikTok Live? No, it's not that TikTok Live doesn't work. It's that nothing works when you're not clear, calibrated, and confident. Get clear, calibrated, and confident, and then go live. Get clear, calibrated, and confident, and then go network. Get your nervous system calibrating to that clarity for you, and then go out there and do the thing. And I guarantee you, you gonna have a different result. And being clear, calibrated, and confident is a superpower. Because when I'm clear, calibrated, and confident, that means my motivation, my inspiration, all those positive emotions are not coming— they're coming from in here. So that means they're not coming from out there. So when I'm clear, calibrated, and confident, when I get online, it don't matter if it's 13 people in here, one person in here, or 300 people in here. I don't need that number to look a certain way because I'm not calibrated to that number. Calibrated to my confidence. I mean, I'm calibrated to my clarity. Does that make sense? You don't want to post if it's not going— you want every post to go viral because you're not clear, calibrated, and confident in here. So you need to see something happen out there so you can feel good about the stuff that you're producing. But if you just get clear, calibrated, and confident, you post it because you knew it was good. And if only 100 people saw it, you saying, TikTok, y'all gotta do better. That's some good shit. Yeah, I'm, I'm not gonna say, oh man, only 12 people came to the live, man. 12 people got hooked up. TikTok, y'all better do better. There's a lot of people who would have benefited from what was going on in here, but my value isn't in the number. My value is in this thing that I'm clear, calibrated, and confident in. Does that make sense? Making sense? Okay. And the last C is consistency. You're going to run those first 4 C's over and over and over and over and over again. If you run those 5 C's— clarity, calibration, confidence, competence, and consistency— over and over and over again, ain't nothing you can't be. Ain't nothing you can't do. Ain't nothing you can't have. I don't care what you come into my office with. I'm going to throw the 5 C's at it. I don't care if you want to quit smoking. I don't care if you want to lose weight. I don't care if you want to develop unshakable confidence. I don't care if you want to get out of debt. I don't care what goal you come to me with. We're going to get clear about what you want. We're going to calibrate to what you want. We're going to keep calibrating until you become confident in what you want. Then we're going to do competence, and you're going to do that consistently. Let's make it real. Let's say you came to me and say, hey, Coach Jay, I got to lose some weight. What's the first C? What is the first C? Clarity. Okay, Coach Jack, I gotta lose some weight. Let's get clarity. What size shirt do you want to wear? What size jeans do you want to wear? Okay, when you wearing that size shirt and that size jeans, what number will you see when you stand on the scale? You see, you see us getting clear. Notice I ain't said I want you to go to Planet Fitness tomorrow. I want you to drink more water. I want you to stop eating all those carbs and stuff. That's step 4. Step 1 is let's get clarity. Okay? When you wear that size shirt and that size jeans and you see that number on the scale, what's going on in your body? Oh, so Coach Jay, I feel sexy. I feel fine. I feel like I'm in my prime. Okay, cool. Take a deep breath in. Close your eyes. With your eyes closed, I want you to imagine you're in your bathroom. When you're in your bathroom, when you can sense yourself being in your bathroom, give me a head nod. Cool. Okay, let me test it. Point to your sink. Where's your sink at? Over there. Where's your tub or your shower? Back. Okay, you in your bathroom. Got a question. Do you have a scale in your bathroom? Yeah. Okay, describe that scale to me. Uh, Coach J, it's like glass. It got these 2 silver strip— strips, and it got black digital letters at the top. Okay, I want you to use your powerful God-given imagination. I want you to stand on that scale. I want you to look down and tell me what number do you see. Good. And as you see that number, how does that feel? You're gonna instantly see their shoulders go back. You're gonna instantly see them start feeling theyself a A little smirk gonna pop up on their face. Now I want you to imagine that your husband just walked in. How's your husband looking at you as you stand on the scale and you see that? No. Oh, Coach Jay, he just bit his lip. Oh wow, what does that mean? Oh, okay, okay, okay, cool. That's enough, that's enough. This is calibrating. We're getting the nervous system familiar with those feelings. We're gonna keep calibrating until we become what? What's the third C? Calm. Confidence. There we go. There we go. Confidence is not your job. Your job is calibrating. You're going to become confident by way of calibration. Think about it. The stuff that you ain't just saying, you ain't do not one affirmation to become confident in it. You just kept calibrating to it. The stuff that scare you, the stuff that keep you up at night, you didn't do not one affirmation to become confident in it. You just kept calibrating to it. But because you kept calibrating to it, your nervous system started to calibrate to it all on its own. It started to calibrate to it without your permission. We gonna calibrate you to that weight that you want to be, to those feelings that you're gonna have when you that weight, to the energy levels you'll be at when you that weight. And then we go to step 4, which is competence. So after I got you clear, calibrated, and confident, then I'm gonna say, okay, it's time to start moving your body more. We got, we got to start burning more calories. How do you feel about going to the gym? Coach, I'm gonna be honest with you, I don't really like the gym. I'm gonna say, cool, I can hypnotize you and get you going to the gym. Before we get to all that, what's something that you enjoy doing? Do you like swimming? Coach, I don't know how to swim. What about dancing? Oh, now, Coach Jay, your, your girl can move. I, I, I fuck them up on the dance floor, Coach Jay. Okay, check this out. You're gonna start dancing for 30 minutes a day. Not cute dancing. I want you full-on dancing for 30 minutes a day. You gotta know this clear, calibrated, confident version of you Gonna have zero resistance to getting in your living room or your bedroom and dancing as hard as you can for 30 minutes a day. Now, but if I would have skipped the clear, calibrated, and confident, I just would have said, I want you to start dancing 30 minutes a day. Coach J, I don't— Coach, I work 12 hours, I got 3 kids. By the time I get home, you would have all the excuses, all the reasons why you can't do it. But because we got you clear, calibrated, and confident first, Now we finna take the steps. You finna go do them. I'm gonna get you clear, calibrated, and confident. And from that clear, calibrated, confident place, I'm gonna say, hey, so all those carbs, all that bread, pasta, rice, it ain't doing you no favors, right? You're gonna say, right, Coach J. I'll be feeling so good, then I eat that and I just feel sluggish. I'm gonna say, you done feeling sluggish? You're gonna say, yeah, I'm done feeling so— all right, we finna bring all that to a minimum. Let's get a list of the foods that you are eating. From this clear, calibrated, confident spot, you're gonna be so coachable, you're gonna be so programmable, long as it's in the direction of the confidence. Then we're gonna do that consistently. That's the 5 C's. That, that's the 5 C's. And you're gonna be showing up, you're gonna be losing 1 to 2 pounds a week. You're going to see the scale responding to this work that you put in, and it's just going to pick up momentum. 5 C's making sense to you? Now, we use the example of losing weight. You can use this in anything. You can use this in getting your finances together, raising your credit score, getting your marriage back on track, getting a different behavior out of your kids, changing your behavior, altering your behavior. Get clear. What do I want? Not what I don't want. What do I want? Okay, let me get calibrated to what I want. I'm gonna keep calibrating until I'm confident in what I want. Now that I'm confident in what I want, it's time to make a plan. I don't want to make the plan when I'm calibrated to the problem. That's where a lot of people screw up. They using the same mindset to put them in debt to try to get out of debt. They using the same mindset to put on the weight to try to lose the weight. No, we got to get clear, calibrated, and confident. We got to build this new identity. Then from there, we're gonna let that version of us pick the strategy. You don't want the version of you that don't have to pick the strategy. The Bible say that the rich will get richer and the poor will lose the little that they do have. You don't want the poor version of you that's losing the little that they do have making the financial plan. You want to get rich and you want to let this rich version of you make the financial plan. That makes sense. This is not very complex, is it? It's not very complex. I tell my clients all the time, it's simple. It's not always easy, but it's always simple. It's very simple. Don't overthink it. Who would I be if I already had that result? That's what I— that's a question that I want constantly running in your mind. Who would I be if I already had that result? Okay, I'mma be that to the best of my ability. How would I stream if it was already 100,000 people in here? Oh man, if it was 100,000 people in the live, I'll be amped, I'll be lit, I'll be telling stories, I'll be using hand gestures, I'll be talking to people in the comments, I'll be— okay, I'mma do all of that now. I'mma do all of that now. Earlier in the live, we was talking about how we live on 3 planes of existence. We live on 3 planes of existence. We got the spirit, we got the mind, and we got the body. And when you're trying to manifest the new life, when you're trying to manifest a different number in that bank account, a different number on that scale, a different number on that credit report, a different diagnosis on that paper from the doctor, you gotta satisfy all 3 planes of those resistance before reality responds. Reality isn't going to respond until you check Put check on all 3 planes. So the spirit, you ain't got a lot to do with spirit. Spirit is the part of you that gave birth to the desire in the first place. So you just get in alignment with that. That's your job as far as spirit goes, getting in alignment with the desire. So calibration gonna take care of that spirit box. Okay, then the mental plane. Most people do the mental plane, especially people that hang out in environments like this. They do the affirmations, they do the vision boards, they do the affirmations, the incantations, the focus wheels, the 3-6. They do the work of reprogramming the mental. But how do we satisfy the physical? We talked about what spirit requires. Check. We talked about what mental requires. Check. Well, how do we satisfy the physical? And that's, I'm, that's not a rhetorical question. I'm asking you guys. Well, we don't know. If we don't know, say I don't know. Give me something. I need to make sure I ain't talking to myself. Yeah, say I don't, if I, we don't know, say I don't know. Okay, applying what we learned. I'm looking for something a little more concrete, but you're not wrong. Behavior. Behavior. I'm gonna tell you what I tell my clients. Behavior is the most powerful form of affirmation there is. Behavior is the most powerful form of affirmation there is. I could sit here and say, I am slim, I am lean, I am slim, I am lean. But if I go eat a sleeve of Oreos, boy oh boy, is that an affirmation. You see what I'm saying? Behavior is that last check that we got to change. And what you got to understand, before you get a different result out there, you got to satisfy all 3 planes. So spirit, mind, and body. You can't change your behavior once you see the result that you want to see out there, because you're not going to see the result that you want to see out there until you change your behavior. So when you first manifest this new reality, when you first get the thinking down and you can feel it and you got the emotions and you got your nervous system behaving different, what Source, what the universe is, what life is going to do is it's going to give you the opportunity to satisfy that last box. So it's going to send you an unexpected bill and it's going to judge how you respond to this unexpected bill. Rather not, you have completely shifted. If you don't have the response it is looking for, for that business, oh, don't worry about it, they not ready to— they didn't shift. I thought they shifted, they didn't. You gonna be working on your mood, you gonna be working on your patience, you gonna be working on your attitude. And your spouse gonna really try it, your boss gonna really try it, your child, the one that you never expect, you're going, I expected this out of you, but you— I didn't see that coming. And source is going to wait to observe how you respond to that. And that's how you check that last box. And that's the part that mess a lot of people up with manifest. They do the mental work. That's— but the mental is only one plane of existence. You can't not— you can't ignore that third plane of resistance. That's the plane that the effect you want actually shows up on. It's invisible until it's visible, and the way that you make it visible is through a new behavior. Now what you got to understand is these behaviors don't got to be huge. I stopped my anybody who come here a lot. You know that I ain't gonna say I hate affirmations, but they're just not one of my favorite tools. I stopped my clients from doing affirmations session one. Stop it. But the time that you use the spinal affirmations, we replace those with what I call affirmative action. Affirmative action. We gonna still be affirming, but we're gonna start affirming through behavior. So I know you used to sit down and say, I am wealthy, I am abundant, I am wealthy, I am abundant. Stop that. From now on, when you pay your bills, I want you to put an extra dollar on each bill. I want you to put an extra dollar on each bill. Now instead of you owing the light company $249, the light company owes you $1. That's a powerful affirmation. Instead of saying, I am abundant, I am wealthy, I am abundant, I am wealthy— when you wake up in the morning and you going through your phone, go in your Cash App and pick somebody in your Cash App, send them $5, send them $7, say, hey, coffee on me this morning. Your subconscious mind gonna say, wait, we got money to— yeah, we got money to give. We must be— we must be abundant. I want you to stop telling your subconscious mind how abundant you are, and I want you to start showing your subconscious mind how abundant you are. I want you to stop telling your subconscious mind how abundant you are, and I want you to give your subconscious mind a front row seat to how abundant you are. I'm not saying go out and put yourself in debt. I'm not saying go out and buy things that you can't afford. Stop wasting your time on affirmations and start showing your subconscious mind how, how powerful you are. My grandma used to say, I'll show you better than I could tell you. I'll show you better than I could tell you. Spend a week treating your subconscious mind like that. Spend a week showing your subconscious mind better than you could tell it, and I guarantee you'll never go back to saying affirmations.
