I pull up to pick these people up and they get in the taxi and they say, don't take me to the mall. And I said, hold on, I don't know how to not take you to the— I can't not take you to the mall. Where do you want to go? Jay, I hate the mall. It's too expensive. It's too many. Listen, I understand you hate the mall and I'm not— my goal is not to make you like the mall, but where do you want to go? I'm not trying to talk you into going to the mall, but I don't know how to not take you to the mall. So where do you want to go? That was always the first step in my process. Help them get crystal clear on what they want, because how are you supposed to hit a target doesn't exist? Is this stuff making sense? Put a one in the chat. So everybody understanding clarity? Say yes. Clarity. You can't get what you want till you know what you want. Knowing what you don't want is not the same thing as knowing what you want. Not wanting to go out of business is not the same thing as wanting to build a thriving business that will stand the test of time that you can one day pass down to your children. Knowing that you don't want to get divorced is not the same thing as wanting to build a thriving marriage that grows with time, that picks up momentum with time. So first, step one is always we got to figure out what do we want, not what I don't. Jay, I hate my job. Jay, it's just not enough hours in a day. Nobody in my house helps me. I'm stretched thin. Cool. What do you want? Okay. After we figure out what you want, our second step is we figure out how would you feel if you already had it? So you figure out what you want, what you really want, and then we figure out how you would feel if you already had it. After we figure that out, we move to step 2, which is calibration. Y'all put calibration in the chat.
