A single speaker (a coach-style presenter often addressing an audience and referencing listeners and client questions) delivers an extended monologue about mindset and performance: imagination as the primary limit, "the will to do it," purposeful thinking, identity vs. willpower, controlling what you can, letting ideas "stay pregnant," entrepreneurship, hypnosis and reframing predictions to treat anxiety, and practical advice for showing up confidently and using social media intentionally. The excerpt includes personal anecdotes and rhetorical Q&A but is not a diarized multi‑speaker conversation.

We're gonna be talking about the fact that your only limit in life is your own imagination. If you could think it, you could do it. Full stop. I could really end the end the thing right here. If you could think it, you could do it. If you can't think it, how in the hell are you supposed to be able to do it? Every problem is a thinking problem. Every problem is a thinking problem. Thinking problem. There's no such thing as a money problem. There's no such thing as a marriage problem. There's no such thing as a not enough time problem. Thinking problem. Change your thinking. Change your thinking. Most people spend too much time working on the problem and not nearly enough time working on the thinking that's responsible for the problem. Change your thinking. You'll accidentally change your behavior. You accidentally change your energy as you just start to think different, focus different. You're gonna start noticing things that have been there the entire time, but you were so wrapped up in what you don't want. You were so busy playing defense that you weren't asking, what do I need to do to put some points on the board? If you could think it, you could do it. Can't think it, can't do it. I'm gonna say that over. And over and over again. If you could think it, you could do it. If you can't think it, you can't do it. So I'm curious, what do you spend most of your time thinking about? Would you say you spend more time thinking about what you don't want or thinking about what you do want? Would you say you spend more time thinking about how to get away from what you don't want, or more time thinking about how to get closer to what you do want? Where attention goes, energy flows. And the average person is putting a whole bunch of energy into where they don't want to go, into what they don't want to do, into what they don't want to feel, and not nearly enough energy into what they do want, how they do want to feel, the body language that they want to exist in. You got to start You gotta start thinking on purpose, man. You gotta start thinking on purpose if you wanna have things that most people don't have. If you wanna feel things that most people don't feel, you got to think in a direction that most people don't think. Most people in society do their thinking for them. They let TikTok do their thinking for them. They let the news do their thinking for them. If you want an extraordinary life, you gotta, you gotta become a thinker. You gotta become a person who sit down and think on purpose, man. You gotta stop letting your mind do whatever you want to do. You don't work for your mind. Your mind works for you. Your mind works for you. Your mind is a creative tool that God gave you. Why are you letting the tool use you? Why are you letting the tool tell you what to do, tell you how to feel? You better get in the habit of telling your thoughts what to think and telling your feelings what to feel. Better put things back in order. Ain't nothing you can't be. Ain't nothing you can't do. Ain't nothing you can't have. Ain't nothing you can't afford. Ain't nothing you can't build. Ain't nothing you can't conquer. And I suggest you master that thought. Now, it's things you might choose not to purchase. It's things you might choose not to build, but can't. It's crazy. You might be the type of person who would never buy a $200,000 car, but can't. Purchase a $200,000 car. That's insane. What you mean you can't? See, I'm using my other— I'm using my resources for other stuff. I can respect that. Say that's just not a priority in my life. I can respect that. But can't? You crazy. You made in the image of a limitless God. What you mean you can't? Get that through your head. Ain't nothing you can't be. Ain't nothing you can't do. Ain't nothing you can't have. If you could think it, you could do it. Now, if you can't think it, how would you expect to be able to do it? When John F. Kennedy asked old boy what it would take to put a rocket on the moon, he said, the will to do it. He didn't say a room full of engineers and computers and years. He said, man, the will to do it. If we ain't got the will to do it, we ain't even got to waste our time with none of this other stuff. But if we got the will to do it, everything else will fall in line. That's the energy you got to start going in, man. What does it take to be a successful entrepreneur? The will to do it. What does it take to have a successful marriage? The will to do it. What does it take to lose 100 pounds? The will to do it. What does it take to recover through everything I've been through? Jay, you don't understand, man. I used to watch my dad beat the shit out of my mom until my mom died. Then I went to live with my aunt. She treated me like shit. Well, Jay, what do I do? How do I overcome that? The will to do it. Now, if you ain't got the will to do it, we can say the motivation, we can say the affirmations and the vision boards, the rest of that shit really don't matter if you don't have the will to do it. That might be the name of the book, shit, The Will to Do It. Do you have the will to do it? If you got the will to do it and you're willing to start using your imagination on purpose, man, you'll be surprised what you accomplish on accident. If you start thinking on purpose, if you start feeling on purpose, if you just start living on purpose, you accomplish some really cool shit on accident. I'm telling you, man, stop taking score. Stop. Is it working? Is it not working? Well, how do I need to show up? What do I need to be thinking? What do I need to be feeling? You're really good at juggling that. Stop trying to control what you can't control. It's a full-time job controlling what you can control. And why are you— so why would you waste resources on trying to control what you can't control when it's a full-time job controlling what you can control? I can't control how many people show up to the live when I go live. I can't control how many people like a post when I, when I put it on TikTok, when I put it on Instagram. But you know what I can control? The confidence I show up with, the certainty I show up with, what I'm doing to prepare, what I'm, what I'm putting in my mind, what I'm putting in my I can control that. But what I've learned is if I just don't measure, is it working, is it not, is it working, is it not working, and I just control the things I can control. If I just decide I'm walking into any environment with my shoulders back, my chest out, and my chin up. When I shake a man's hands, I'm gonna look him in his eyes. Somebody asks me what I do, I'm gonna communicate what I do confidently. I'm gonna show up in this office, I'm gonna show up at my desk every day and give that shit everything I got. When I go live, I don't give a damn if it's 2 people in the room or 2,000 people in the I'm gonna get that shit everything I got. And what I found is if I just do that over time, it doesn't guarantee that there will be 100 people in the room that I go live, but it does guarantee that over the, over the stretch of time, it's gonna work out. My bank account is going to respond to that. My confidence is going to respond to that. My following is going to respond to that. My business is going to respond to that. It don't mean I'm gonna make $100,000 every single day. But it does guarantee there's gonna be some days where I'm glad I showed up. Stop measuring. Is it done yet? Is it done yet? Is it— just keep doing your part. Imagine you put a pot of water on the stove and you turn it on. It says, Jay, it's not boiling. I think my stove broke. You just turned the stove on, man. But Jay, the stove is supposed to— I know the stove is supposed to boil. If you give a stove a little bit of time, it's going to heat it to 212 degrees. And at 212 degrees, it starts the process of boiling. It don't just start a full-out boil, it starts the process of boiling. You got to give yourself time to boil, man. It's 6 people in this room right now. A lot of y'all would have been logged off because there's only 6 people in here. Let me ask you this, how the hell do you get to 100 without first getting to 6? There goes 7. You got to stop taking score so soon. Imagine a woman, she finds out she's pregnant, she pick a room in the house, she painted, she put the baby bed together, changing table, get the diapers, the clothes, she finished the nursery, it's beautiful. Then she go abort the baby because it's not here yet. Ma'am, what do you mean it's not here? Yeah, you, you, you 5 months pregnant, ma'am. You got 4 more months. I know, but Jay, the nursery is ready. Where is it? It's, it's in you. Don't you feel it moving? Don't you feel your appetite changing? Don't you feel the shifts in you? It's in you. But Jay, I wanna hold it. You will. Let me tell you something. My oldest son was born premature. It was not fun. It was scary. I wish he could have stayed in the oven and finished cooking. We didn't know if Buddy was gonna make it. Thank God he did, but we didn't know if he was. You want it to grow inside of you. It's scary out there. You want it to build this immunity inside of you. You want the vision to grow inside of you. You want it to feed off of you. You want it to pick up its immunity before it goes out there. By the time you get out there, it need to be able to stand on its own. Stop rushing stuff, man. Control what you can control. Control what you can control, and I can guarantee you some amazing results. You got to learn how to stay pregnant. I love the analogy of pregnancy because think about it. As many people as it is in this world, as many people as I talked to over the years, I have never seen a pregnant woman walking around with a checklist. I've never seen a pregnant woman out collecting cells and collecting a brain and a heart and some lungs and some kidneys and some skin. I've never seen a pregnant woman running around saying, Jay, you know where I can get some skin? What? What? What? When you say skin, what you mean? Like, like, like flesh? Nah, I don't know where you can get no flesh. As a matter of fact, quit talking to me. Because she don't got to build a baby, she just got to stay pregnant. I want you to sit with that for a second. I want you to meditate on that for a second. Chew on it. She doesn't have to build the baby, she just has to stay pregnant. She just has to allow the baby to grow inside of her. If she just allowed the baby to grow inside of her, the baby will build itself. And that's how I want you to start looking at entrepreneurship. That's how I want you to start looking at your ideas. And your desires. Understand, you don't got to build the idea. You just got to quit aborting the idea. You just got to let the idea grow inside of you. And if you just let the idea grow inside of you without you— what if you can get the deal? What if it don't work? What if this— what if you just learn how to let the idea grow inside of you? You are accidentally— you will accidentally do some really cool stuff. I didn't come up with Identity 2.0. I didn't come up with I Coach Bosses. I didn't come up with Abundant Living. I didn't come up with Creators Create. I didn't come up with Night School. All of these ideas found me. Half of them I didn't even want to execute when they first showed up. I'm like, God, I got enough on my plate. You giving me more ideas? You're like, yeah, and I gave you the skills and I gave you everything you need to execute them. Let's go. I got pregnant. I was in the military. I hated being in the military. And I got pregnant with this idea. I don't want to work. I want to play. I'm done working. I want to play. I want to get paid to do things that I would do for free. I got pregnant with that idea. Didn't know how I was gonna do it, didn't know what it was gonna look like. I got pregnant with this idea of I don't want to work, I want to play. I want to get paid to do things that I would do for free. I love hypnosis, I love psychology, I love NLP, I love human behavior, I love neuroscience, I love learning what makes people tick, I love studying successful people, I love reverse engineering how they built their success. I want to do something Dealing with that. I'm done work. I don't want to work. I'm done working. I want to play. I want to wake up when I want to wake up. I want to go to bed when I want to go to bed. I was in the military. I couldn't grow my beard. I couldn't wear my nose ring. I couldn't braid my hair. I couldn't wear my earrings. I couldn't get online and say whatever the hell I wanted to say. I knew I wanted to do— I want freedom. I want to be able to exist anywhere in the world. As long as I got that iPad and that phone, I can make some money. I don't want to be restricted. I want freedom. And I want you to notice how I have Trained my brain to work. It's happening so quick, you might not— you might not even pick up on it. I want you to notice that every time I say something I don't want, I immediately follow it up with what I want instead. I'm done. I don't want to work. I want to play. I want to get paid to play. Like a lot of people, they go, I don't want to work. I'm so tired of work. Jay, you don't understand. I hate my job. Oh my God, I just hate— don't get stuck there. I don't want— boom. I want this. What is that? That's where you got to start building the momentum at. That's where you got to start building the momentum at. You it can't be. I don't want to fight with my wife, Jay. You don't understand how she does this, that, that. Jay, I don't want to fight with my wife. I want to love my wife. I want us to man, Jay. Me and my wife used to be best friends, dog. I want us to get back to vibing. I want us to get back to hanging out. I want us to get back to having a good time. Get wrapped up in in that when you discipline your children. Don't make the whole conversation about how you don't want them. You in that class running your mouth. The teacher can't teach you because she got to get on your and I know you know better. Da da da da. And I'm tired of this and I'm at work and I'm. I'm trying to work and I can't work. I know you smarter than that. I know you better than what's showing up in that classroom, son. I don't know what you expect out of you. Let me tell you a little bit about what, what I expect out of you. I expect you— if your teacher's mouth is open, I expect your mouth to be closed. I expect you to understand the difference between recess and classroom. If your teacher called me and said you did what you did at recess, we wouldn't even be having this conversation. I would be wondering why she was calling me. But that's not a classroom behavior, son. Son, give me some examples of what you think is appropriate classroom. Make the conversation about what you want. When you talking to your spouse, I'm tired, I'm the only one to clean up around, don't nobody else see nothing. Baby, I need help. Baby, I want support. A lot of times I feel like I, I'm everybody's slave and stuff. I don't want to feel it. I want to feel like I'm a part of it. Start talking about what you want and watch how you accidentally start moving toward it. Where attention goes, energy flows. Most people spend way too much time focusing on what they don't want, then wonder why they got buckets of it. Think about it. When you talk about what you don't want, do you got to try to get anxious? Do you got to try to get stressed out? Do you got to try to get overwhelmed? Do you have to try to feel depressed? Or is that what naturally happens when you talk about what you don't want? One of the cheat codes I give my clients: if it works in that direction, it'll work in that direction. If talking about what you don't want stresses you out, What do you think gonna happen when you start talking about what you do want? What do you think is gonna happen when you start talking about what you want to happen in your business instead of what you don't want to happen in your business? You got to understand, not wanting to go out of business is not the same thing as wanting to build a thriving business that could withstand any economy. Not wanting to get divorced is not the same thing as wanting to build a partnership that could withstand anything. Not only can it withstand anything, it's fun. Not wanting to be fat is not the same thing as wanting to be slim and energized. Not wanting to be sick is not the same thing as wanting every cell in your body to operate exactly the way that God designed it to work. Get under the influence of what you want. Do yourself that favor. Get under the influence of what you want. And as you get under the influence of what you want, you're gonna accidentally read some real good books. You gonna accidentally listen to some real cool podcasts. You gonna accidentally meet some real cool people. You gonna accidentally find yourself in the right place at the right time saying the right stuff to the right people. Start focusing on what you want. You owe that to yourself. You owe it to your future generations to start focusing on what you want. Start describing what you want. Imagine getting in a taxi saying, "Hey, dog, don't take me to the mall. I hate the mall." I hate the mall, man. It's too many people, dumb down kids, teenagers up there wearing jackets and ski masks and shit. It's 90 degrees outside, your ass got on the ski mask. I hate the mall. You know what's wrong with this generation, bro? Where do you want to go? That's what a lot of people doing to their nervous system. That's what a lot of people doing to their endocrine system. They filling their nervous system with where they don't want to go. Stop doing that to yourself. Stop doing that to yourself. What do you want? Spend most of your time thinking about what you want. Spend most of your time thinking about what you want because you gotta hold it in your head before you can hold it in your hands. If you can't hold it in your head, if you can't hold it in your head, you will never hold it in your hands. You gotta start holding it in your head. As you start holding it in your head, it's gonna change the way you feel. When you feel different, you'll accidentally behave different. When you feel different, you're gonna accidentally see some things that sure enough they were there, but you couldn't see them because your feelings wouldn't allow you to. Think about it. When you feel upset, you do upset on accident, right or wrong? When you feel upset, you accidentally stomp your feet, slam the door, raise your voice, curse people out. You don't, you don't got to try to do upset. When you feel upset, you will accidentally do what you feel. Give yourself permission to feel successful. While the bank account still look the way it look, while the credit score still look the way it look, like the position— while the position at the job still look the way it look, while the following is still small, give yourself permission to feel successful. And as you step into that feeling of success, watch what happens to your body language. Watch what happened to the way you price your services. Watch what hap— watch how you start to value your time different. Watch how you start to accidentally say yes To stuff you used to say no to. Watch how you start to accidentally say no to stuff that you used to say yes to. You gonna accidentally start to move different because you're gonna change the way you think and change the way you feel. And when you think and feel different, you ain't got no choice but to act different. That's what I do in my office, man. Somebody say, Jay, can you hypnotize me to quit smoking? Absolutely. Take a deep breath in, close your eyes so that I can change the way you feel about cigarettes. I don't care about your behavior. I don't gotta change your behavior. I got— you gotta understand, behind every behavior is a belief, and behind every— but behind every behavior is a feeling, and behind every feeling is a belief. By the time you get to the behavior, it's too late. It's too late. It's like trying to stop a boulder at the bottom of a hill. At the top of that hill, you stood a chance. At the bottom of the hill, that boulder finna roll over you and everything behind you. What's the what's the belief behind that behavior? What's the feeling behind that behavior? That's what I got to change. Coach Jay, I struggle with anxieties. What you got to understand is your brain is a prediction machine. Your brain is constantly making predictions, constantly making predictions. Then it asks itself, what do I need to do to survive this prediction I just made? And anxiety is the answer to that question. You don't got to get rid of the anxiety. Your body is doing exactly what it's supposed to do based on the prediction that it's making. If your brain is predicting that the world is unsafe, people are out to get me, things never work out for me— we would have a problem if your brain was predicting it and you weren't anxious. Your brain is supposed— your body is— you're supposed to be in an anxious state based on that prediction you're making. If we stop that prediction That's what's going on. The anxiety going to leave because now the prediction is I am safe. And why would I be anxious if the prediction is I am safe? You don't got to stop the behavior. You got to stop the prediction. You got to stop the prediction. Does that make sense? Stop the prediction. You don't say, I'm afraid of public speaking. You're not afraid of public speaking. Your brain is predicting catastrophic failure. It's responding to the prediction that's being made. You don't got to make yourself stop being afraid of public speaking. You got to change that prediction. And that's why hypnosis works so well, because you were never responding to reality to begin with. You were responding to the meaning you place upon reality. I don't got to change reality. I can't change— I can, not directly, but indirectly. But it don't matter. I don't got to change reality. I got to change the predictions that your brain is making that's producing that reality. Ain't nothing you can't be. Ain't nothing you can't do. Ain't nothing you can't have. Your only limit in life is your own imagination. If you can't think it, why would you be able to do it? Everything happens in here first. Everything happens in here first. This morning when I walked in my closet to get dressed, I said, okay, let me see. I'm going into the office today. I got three in-person clients. I ain't gonna get too dressed. Okay, I put. I got dressed in here. Then I got dressed out there. Eventually, I'm gonna walk into my kitchen and decide I want something to eat. I'm gonna go in my head. I'm gonna say, okay, I'm trying to cut some pounds off. I'm stay away from these cars. Okay, yeah, that's something I can do that. Okay, bacon and eggs. I'm I'mma eat in here, then I'mma eat out there. But what you gotta understand is that's everything. I gotta be successful in here, then be successful out there. I gotta have a thriving marriage in here, then have a thriving marriage out there. I can't wait only to change out there because it's not gonna change out there until it changes in here because out there has. Always been a reflection of what's going on in here. Out there has always been a reflection of what's going on in here. So working on what's going on out there without bothering to work on what's going on in here—that would be the equivalent of if one of you guys said, "Hey Coach Jay, it's something on your face," and instead of wiping my face, I wiped the phone. I was like, "What's wrong with this man?" A second ago, I thought he was so smart. A second ago, I thought he had— I thought he had this shit together. Why is he wiping the phone? Hold on, y'all, it won't— it's still there. Let me wipe it harder. And that's what most people do. They wipe it harder instead of fixing the problem. They go work on the reflection harder. People who come into this live all the time, You already know I've told you that discipline and willpower and grind and sacrifice cannot be the center of your self-development strategy. One of the luxuries that I have sitting in this seat that I sit in is I get to interact with a lot of high performers. I get to work with a lot of athletes, entrepreneurs, executives, founders, successful day traders. And let me tell you something about successful people. They're not running off of willpower. They're not running also off of discipline. They're not running off of grind and sacrifice and hard work. They're running off of identity. They're running off of identity. You out of your rabbit-ass mind if you think Kobe Bryant was using willpower to get out of his bed at 4 AM and go to the gym when he was already a millionaire, multi-millionaire, many times over. He wasn't using Willpower to go to the gym at 4 AM. He had an identity to where staying in bed felt like suffocating. Staying in bed felt like letting the city of Los Angeles down. Staying in bed felt like letting every Laker that came before him down. That staying in bed did not align with the way that he saw himself. So it wasn't willpower getting him out of bed, it was this feeling, I gotta get my ass to the gym, bro. Like the fact that your ass is still in the bed was unconscionable. He he would get so mad at Shaquille O'Neal. Why? You know I come to the gym every day for why your big ass not here? He talks about man, if Shaq had my he say work ethic, but what he really means is identity. If Shaq had my work ethic, if Shaq had my identity, because your identity will give birth to a crazy work ethic. Bro, it's it's my identity. They got me on this live talking to you. I don't give a fuck how many people in this room. I will talk to him. It's my identity that got me doing this. My identity sent me here. You, Jay, I was posting on TikTok, but I only get 200 views, man. See, you working for the wrong thing. You gotta start working for your identity. You gotta start working for your last name. You gotta start working for your legacy and stop working for pats on the back from fucking strangers. You gotta start working for your identity. You gotta build an identity that makes you accidentally do the things that you do. You gotta build an identity to make you accidentally walk in the rooms with your shoulders back, your chest out, and your chin up. Ain't no damn court gesture. You ain't no damn clown. Quit working for likes and taps and shares and show up because that's what God sent you here to do. But I promise you this, if you just do that, the likes, the taps, the shares All that shit will come. I promise you it will come. It has no choice. But what you got to do is you got to stop letting reality bully you. You got to become unbullyable by reality. You are a creator. You're not a waiter. You are a creator. God didn't send you here to wait. He sent you here to create. He sent you here with a mission. He sent you here with a to-do list. You got to understand, God is a very linear creator. God don't create in this chaotic, random way. God ain't just waking up throwing random affirmations out in the back. God is very linear. Adam was one of the— if you pay attention, you will notice that Adam was one of the last things that God created. Before God created Adam, he had a place for Adam to exist in. He had a purpose for Adam to fulfill. He had a job for Adam to do. He didn't create Adam and then created his purpose. He created Adam once he saw a need for Adam. He didn't say, in the beginning, the earth was black void and without form And he made Adam. No, before he made Adam, he had something for Adam to eat. He had a place for Adam to live. He had a mission for Adam to fulfill. Then he created Adam. I promise you, God didn't change up his order of creation when it came to you. You got to live on purpose, man. You were born with a purpose, but when you living on accident, that purpose get cloudy. I challenge you, I dare you to start living on purpose. Start waking up on purpose. Start getting dressed on purpose. Start rolling out of your bed on purpose. Start getting on TikTok on purpose. TikTok is a completely different app when you use it on purpose versus— but most people let TikTok use them. Start using TikTok on purpose. You'll be surprised the stuff you can learn on TikTok. Start using YouTube on purpose. Most people let YouTube use them. They get on YouTube, YouTube show them, YouTube tell them what— I'd be down if I let YouTube tell me what to watch. I know what I'm getting on here for. I know what I came looking I'd be down if I let TikTok tell me what to watch. I know what I got on here for. I know what I got on. I know what I came to watch. Stop letting the world just hand you. What do you want? I'm finna get ready to get up out of here. I gotta slide to the office. 98% of people, 98% of people have no idea what they want. 98% of people have no idea. What they want. If you become part of the 2% that actually know what you want and you just start living with that in mind, the rest of the world becomes putty in your hands. Most people have no idea what they want. If you just become one of the few who, who do, the rest of the world will quickly become putty in your hands. Hold that as you walk through your day.
