Jay Shaw argues that feeling confident or successful works differently than just saying affirmations. The difference is treating those feelings as facts rather than words you repeat to yourself.

It's saying treats a feeling like a fact. If you feel confident, you confident. If you feel successful, you successful. If you feel ugly, you ugly. If you feel handsome, you handsome. If you feel beautiful, you beautiful. Now notice I didn't say if you say you handsome, you handsome. I didn't say if you say you wealthy, you wealthy. I didn't say if you affirm you healthy, you healthy. I said if you feel, it treats a feeling as a fact, not a word as a fact.
