Unlock Your Full Potential: Stop Focusing on What You Don’t Want and Achieve Success!

Jay Shaw presents his 5C framework: Clarity, Calibration, Confidence, Competence, and Consistency. The core idea is to focus on what you want rather than what you don't want, using the question "What would I rather have?" to shift your attention and build confidence naturally.

All right, we back, we back, we back. Let's go. So we've been talking about clarity. All right, we back, we back, we back. Let's go. So we've been talking about clarity. I'm gonna put my phone on the charge, it is low. So we're talking about clarity, calibration, and confidence, guys. This is what we call the foundation of success. Without this foundation, you're gonna have a hard time sustaining success. I ain't gonna say you ain't gonna hit no success, but you're gonna have a hard time sustaining success. You're gonna have a hard time not burning out. This is how we get successful and prevent burnout at the same time. This is a success formula that helps high performers, entrepreneurs, professional athletes, Learn this form. Learn this form and watch how much easier things start coming to you. I ain't saying you ain't gonna have no work to do, but it's so much easier when you got a process to follow. So much easier when you not going, well, am I doing it right? Am I doing it right? You— when you got a process that you're working in, you know when you're doing it right. You can tell, okay, I'm on step one. That's what's supposed to be happening at step one. Okay, now this is step two. That's what's supposed to be happening at step two. But before I had wrapped up the live earlier, was talking about clarity, calibration, and confidence, and how this gives birth to the direction of your faith. You always got faith in something. You always got faith in something, but you direct that faith with your clarity, your calibration, and your confidence. Your calibration follows your clarity. What is calibration? Calibration is focus. Calibration is getting under the influence of— when you calibrate to a funny movie, you don't got to try to laugh. That's what happened when you calibrate to a funny movie. When you calibrate to a scary movie, you don't got to try to get scared. That's what happens when you calibrate to a scary movie. Clarity, calibration, and confidence is the foundation of success. Now, after clarity, calibration, and confidence, Faith isn't a part of the 5C process. It just came up in a discussion we was having. But after clarity, calibration, and confidence, then we get to competence. Competence is where we start taking action. What's going on, D? Confidence is where we start taking action. We don't take action without this foundation. We don't start taking action until we got our faith pointed in the right direction. You gonna You're gonna confuse yourself when your faith is calibrated to what you don't want. Your faith is what you don't want, and you're trying to take direction in this action— I mean, trying to take action in this direction. You want to get your faith pointed in the right direction and then do competence. What's up, what's up, what's up? You want to get your faith pointed over here and then start doing competence, because you got your faith going over here but you're trying to do competence over here. It's a disconnect. It's a disconnect. You're not gonna have the results that you want to have. What's up, Chris? But we finna get ready to start from the top with everything because I reset the live. We're gonna have some new people coming in. So people who've been here, people who was in the other live that just ended a few minutes ago, if you got questions, we here. You got questions, ask them. I'm gonna erase the board and we finna reset this thing. I'm gonna be honest, I'm not gonna be able to Guys, hear me when I say— don't just hear me, trust me, believe me, test it out yourself too. You could be doing half anything you desire, anything you desire. The only limit is your own imagination. Your only limit is your own imagination. If you can think it, you can do it. If you can't think it, you can't do it. But the good news is you can think it, and with repetition, thinking does get easy. See, I love thinking. I love thinking because I could think in the bed. I can lay in the bed and think. I could sit on the couch and think. I can go sit on the balcony and think. I love thinking because it don't take any— I just gotta sit here and direct my thought. Sometimes I just be sitting there in my, in my own world. What you think about? Nothing. Well, you got to be— I'm just in my head imagining. I'm just in my head Building stuff. Now, if you keep building the same thing in your head over and over again, if you keep constructing it, if you keep seeing it, if you keep feeling it in your head, before too long your hands gonna want to play. Before too long your body gonna want in. Well, a lot of people screw up because they try to go get their body to do something that they haven't spent any time with in here. You got to create it in here before you can do it out there. And the more time you spend creating in here, you get to this place where you can start creating in the moment. Like, I've done so much sitting down thinking, visualizing, conceptualizing in here that now I can— it's like I can pretty much do it as I'm doing the hands-on part. Like these talks that we give, I don't get on with notes. I don't get on with a script. I've done it so much. I've thought about it so much. I played with these ideas and these concepts and utilize these things so much that now I can just get in and I can just talk. I don't need a script, I don't need to prep, it's just in there. I'm so calibrated to it that it could just flow effortlessly. But people be wanting that effortless flow before they've done that calibration process. You don't get to the effortless flow without lots of calibrating. And it don't mean you're not good at it, it means you are developing. And that's the magic of the 5C process. It gives you a framework Understand, I'm not failing. I'm getting clarity. Okay, I got my clarity. I'm not failing. I'm in the process of calibrating. This is what calibrating is supposed to feel like. So what you would call failure is actually step 2. No, you're not failing. You calibrate. And if you keep calibrating, you're gonna accidentally become confident. You're going, I'm not confident. No, it's not that you're not confident. It's that you're still calibrating. The confidence is loading. You better give up on yourself when you on step 2 of the process. It's a 5-step process, and I've seen so many people give up because they didn't understand where they were in the framework. You're not failing, you not— you just not finished. You want to know a secret? You never finished. You never done. The last C is consistency. What does that mean? When you get to the end, go back to the beginning. It's time to get some more clarity. How do you think people level up and level up and level up and level up again? They get to one level of success, and from that level of success, they get even more clarity. Then they calibrate to that level of success. Then they hit that next level, they get even more Clarity. It's always going— you are human. You are a creator by your nature. So creators create. You're always going to be at a point where you look around. I don't like that. I'd rather have this. That's new clarity. You keep getting clarity. You keep calibrating. You keep getting confident in that clarity. Then you do competence. Then it's time to do the building. Then it's consistency. You do that over and over and over again. How do I change my mindset, Jay? One thought at a time. How do I build a business, Jay? One thought at a time. How do I lose weight, Jay? One thought at a time. How do I change my life, Jay? One thought at a time. Every problem is a thinking problem, and your biggest problem—really your only problem—is you don't know how to control your mind. You don't know how to discipline your thinking. You don't know how to stop your imagination from running wild. That's your only problem. Everything, every other problem that you got is a symptom of that problem. Every other line, every other problem that you got is a symptom of that one problem. You could be, do, and have anything you desire. Anything. You are your only limit. When you look at the mirror, you're looking at your only limit. And that's good news. You talking to me? I'm talking to you. Oh, you could be, do, and have anything you desire. Anything. If you could think it, you can do it. Can't think it, you can't do it. The great news is you can think it. But when you thinking something you never thought before, you don't really have the neural structure to support that new thought. So thinking that new thought might be uncomfortable at first. Guess what? Keep thinking. Every time you think it, you're thickening those neural pathways. Every time you think it, you're tightening those connections in the brain. Every time you think it, you are rewiring yourself. Keep thinking. Jay, I can only hold it in my mind for a split second. Well, hold it for several split seconds. Watch how those split seconds start to link together and become And become minutes. I got too excited, I choked on my words. If you can think it, you can do it. You can think it. Thinking it might be uncomfortable at first because it's new. Keep thinking it. Keep getting clarity and then getting some more clarity and then getting some more clarity. Thinking is the prerequisite to doing. Stop trying to do stuff that you haven't thought about. Stop trying to force yourself to do things that you haven't thought about. Get in here, think about it. See it, get excited about it, keep getting excited about it. We call that calibration. So the 5 C's: clarity, calibration, confidence, competence, consistency. Clarity, calibration, confidence, competence, consistency. Let's write them down. Let's write them down. Clarity, calibration, confidence, competence, consistency. So the one of the crazy things about 5 C's that you got to be careful with, every one of these steps work in both directions. Every one of these steps work in both directions. You don't know this, but you already running 5C. But if you're not getting the results you want, then let me know that you're running 5C in the direction of what you don't want. When you start consciously running 5C, when you start purposely running 5C, you start running 5C in a direction of what you do want. Okay, so we're gonna talk about what it looks like when we run this in both directions. Okay, so when you get clarity about what you don't want— I don't like my job, I don't like my boss, they don't pay me enough, they don't give me enough hours, they give me too many hours, they won't let me off on the weekends, we don't have good insurance, I don't like my coworkers, they messy— then you go get on the phone and you talk to other people. About how you don't like it, how it's not fair, and yada yada yada yada yada yada. That's getting clarity about what you don't want. Now, each one of these C's feed into the next C, okay? Then this feeds us back to the beginning. Each one of these C's feed into the next C. When I get clarity about what I don't want, I get calibrated to what I don't want. What's calibration, Jay? Calibration is when I put my Attention on it. Calibration is when I put my attention on it. When I calibrate to a funny movie, I don't got to try to laugh. That's what happens when I calibrate to a funny movie. When I calibrate to a sad movie, I don't got to try to get sad. That's what happens when I calibrate to a sad movie. When I calibrate to a um a love story, I don't got to try to get butterflies. That's what happens when you calibrate to a love story. But when you calibrate to that job that you don't like, when you calibrate to that relationship that's not functioning the way that you want, when you calibrate. To your life not being how you want it to be, you don't got to try to get down. You don't got to try to get depressed. You don't got to try to get anxious. That's what happens when you calibrate to what you don't want. Does that make sense? So this is what 98% of people do. I need you to understand, when you start running this process on purpose, you're gonna be in what we refer to as the 2%. You're gonna be in what we refer to as 2%. Most people not controlling their thoughts. Most people are responding to life. Most people People are waking up and saying, let's see how the day goes. And that's why 90% of the world works for 2% of the world. 98% of people work for 2% of the people because 98% of people getting clarity about what they don't want. 98% of people never ask what I call the magic question. I'm gonna tell y'all the magic question in a little bit. Let's get them taps going. So 98% of people get clarity about what they don't want. Get calibrated to what they don't want. And when you keep calibrating to something over and over again, you become confident in it on accident. What color is my shirt? You don't got to think about it. You ain't gotta study. You ain't got to go look it up. It was a time in your life where somebody was showing you flashcards or pointing at something on the board and telling you that this is yellow, or maybe you might see it as gold. It depends on the lighting and how it's hitting. There's a time in your life where through repetition and through constant calibration What color is this? Red? No, this is not red, Timmy. This is yellow. Say yellow. Yellow. Good job, Timmy. What color is this, Timmy? Yellow. Good job, Timmy. What color is this, Timmy? Yellow. Good job, Timmy. And you know, and you know, the teacher not that excited that you remember, but she understands that I need emotion to calibrate you. If I say, what color is this, Timmy? You say yellow. And I say, good. What color is it? Like, the good job, Timmy, and the celebration is what's going to lock it into your neurology. Good teachers know this. Praise and emotion is a memory serum. So through repetition and emotion, you learned that this is yellow. Through repetition and emotion, you learned that this is red. And you don't got— and it's in there in a way where you don't got to try to— you confident in the fact that this red because you got enough repetition and emotion that you became confident in the fact that this red. Exactly. You, you know this stuff without even knowing this stuff. Okay, so if I ask you, are you confident that this red? You're gonna say, yeah, I'm confident that that's red. You're not gonna say, well, let me go study a book. How do I develop confidence in the fact that that cup is red? You confident in the fact that this cup is red because you— it was a chapter in your life where you calibrated to it over and over and over again. So now you confident in the fact that this cup is red. Okay, but what, what we do is we study what we don't want, we talk about what we don't want, we get on the phone and talk to people about what we don't want. We get on TikTok and watch skits about what we don't want. We get on TV and we watch shows about what we don't want. We get good and calibrated to what we don't want. And when you keep calibrating, you become confident in what you don't want. You become confident that all these men up to no good. You become confident that all these women are gold diggers. You become confident that the market is oversaturated and entrepreneurship is hard and there's no good job. You become confident that my government not look— you became confident in it just by constantly calibrating to it. You didn't have to try to become confident in it. You get confident in what you calibrate to over and over again. Okay, so the next C is competence. This is where we take action from. 98% of people take action while they're confident in what they don't want. You gotta know that you show up different when you under the influence of what you don't want. When you feel like you don't— you can't do it, you feel like it's not gonna work, you feel like what's the point, I know it's not When you calibrate it with the 98% and you try to do stuff, you're doing— don't hit the same because you're doing from under the influence of it's not gonna work. I think about it, when you know that you're good at something, you show up different to that thing that you feel like you're good at, to that thing that you confident that you're good at. You show up completely different to something that you feel unconfident in, right? A different version of you show up. A different version of you shows up when it's something you good at versus something that you don't feel so good about. You don't got access to your best doing when you under the influence of this. And what most people do is we get this caught up in this loop and we keep running it and running it and running it. I get clear, I calibrate, I get confident in the calibration, I take action, and I do it again. That's what consistency is all about, doing it again. Now, when you're running it over here, we call it a failure loop. When you're running it over here, we call it a success loop. So my question to you, do you want to go through life running what we call the failure loop, or would you like to go through life running what we call a success loop? Because this is what the 5C method is about. 5C is about learning how to get clear about what I want. I look at this. Now, this is where it gets real interesting. This is not bad. It just is. I look at this job that I don't like. I notice what I don't like about that job. But instead of getting hypnotized by what I don't like, I go, I would rather have— that's the magic question. What would I rather have? You should write that on your bathroom mirror. What would I rather have? What would I rather have? Whenever you standing face to face with something you don't like, I want you to get in the habit of asking yourself. What would I rather have? Answer that question and start getting clarity about what you want. Start getting questions about— start getting clarity about what you want. This is something that works in every situation, man. It's only 7 people in my live. I'd rather have a lot of people. I'd rather have people here tapping the screen. I'd rather have people here turning it up. I'd rather have people here sharing the live. I'd rather have people active in the comments. I'd rather be at the top of the For You page. I'd rather it be 98 people in here, man. That'd be awesome if it was 98 people. When I started getting clear about what I want and started talking about it, I started calibrating to it on accident. Just like I don't got to try to feel down when I calibrate over here, I don't got to try to feel lit when I calibrate over here. I don't got to try to feel motivated when I calibrate over here. I don't got to try to feel inspired when I calibrate over here. My voice started changing itself. My energy started going up all on its own when I go up over here. When I start calibrating over here, I don't got to try to feel good. It's the natural result of calibrating. operating over here. And the, the real emphasis that I've been putting on calibration lately is you got to understand, the calibration is not about changing the world. Calibration is about changing you. What's up, baby? Calibration is not about fixing your husband. Calibration is about fixing your mind. Calibration is not about fixing your boss. Calibration is about rewiring your mind. Calibration isn't about fixing the economy. Calibration is about fixing your mind. Okay? I'm Calibration is about rewiring you. A lot of times people do affirmations, but they doing affirmations to fix their boss. Your boss got to do affirmations to fix your boss. Your affirmation is not going to fix your boss. Your affirmations gonna fix you. A lot of times people come work with me in a session and, well, let me tell you about my husband, let me tell you about my mama. Listen, you got me for an hour. If your mama want a session, book her one. If your husband need a session, book him one. We finna work on you. You signed up for a session. I can't make your husband do nothing unless you convince him to get in that chair. Now, if you convince him to get in this— in that chair, I hypnotize the hell out of them for you, but you got to get them in the chair. We here to work on you, your mind. Every problem is a thinking problem. Every problem is— I don't care if you want more money. I don't care if you don't like your body. I don't care if your marriage falling apart. I don't care if you don't You, you feel like you're not parenting your children well. I don't care if it's, um, like you, you in a messy family and the family dynamic is ruined. Every problem is a— you can't show me one problem that thinking won't change. You can't show me one problem that a new mindset won't fix. I don't care if it's a debt problem. I don't care if it's a health problem. You can't show me one problem that getting calibrated to what you want Won't, won't instantly begin to change the problem. Okay, so when you calibrate over and over again, you keep calibrating, you keep calibrating, you keep calibrating, you become confident on accident. You confident that this cup is red. You didn't have to study, like, you didn't have to try to be confident in this cup red. This cup is red. You know that this cup is red. You know that this cup is red. I would have to get you in a really deep trance to convince you that this cup was blue. I can't do it, but that ain't what we doing right now. This cup is red, and you know that this cup is red, and you confident in the fact that this cup is red. What if you could be as confident in your business as you are that this cup is red? What would that look like? What if you could be as confident in your skills as is— as you are that this cup is red? What if you could be so confident in your business they could be on CNN talking about a recession and you say, sucks for y'all? We eating over here. What if you could be so confident in what you do, so confident in your skill set, that your bank account could be empty, but you so confident in what you do, you say, let me go out here and get my money. Let me go out. You, you— why you not nervous? Because I'm confident in me. I'm not calibrated to this. I'm calibrated to this. So I'm not calibrated to my bank balance. I'm calibrated to my goal. And because I'm calibrated to my goal, my bank balance ain't got no choice but to calibrate to me. You be calibrating the shit that you should be forcing to calibrate to you. Why are you calibrating to a bank account? A bank account doesn't have consciousness. Why are you calibrating to a calendar? A calendar doesn't have— man, January 1st, what? January 1st, what? Whatever today is, right now, right here. Why are you calibrating to things that don't have consciousness when God gifted you With consciousness, you gonna be a 98 percenter or a 2 percenter. 98 percent of people they not thinking; they merely remembering patterns that they learned between the ages of zero and eight. They communicating with the patterns they learned between the ages of nine and twelve. I need you to understand that at 35, at 40, at 25, at 18, whatever age you are, those decisions that you made about yourself at twelve. That box you put yourself in at 12. Let's look. When you agree with me that right now you a lot smarter, a lot more resourceful, a lot stronger than you were as a 12-year-old— when you agree with me in that statement, man, I'm a lot— I might not be the smartest man in the world, but the growth I didn't have since I was 12, it would, would blow your mind. I need you to start getting clear about what you want. Stop getting clear about what you don't want. Stop studying what you don't want. Stop getting on the phone talking about what you don't want. Okay, what's going on? See, stop talking about what you don't want, because when you— where focus goes, energy goes. Calibration. You calibrate to what you focus on. You calibrate to what you focus on. You, a lot of times, you think that you pushing against something is getting it out of your life. No, no, no, no, no, no, that's not how it works. That's not how it works. There is no law of— what's the word I've been using? Hmm, it's attraction. There's no law of I don't want that. There's no law of— it's a word I used earlier in the live, it's escaping me right there. I don't know, it's not coming to me right now. I need you to start focusing on what you want so that you can calibrate to what you want. When you calibrate to a funny movie, You don't got to try to laugh. That's what happens when you calibrate to a funny movie. When you calibrate to a sad movie, you don't got to try to get sad. That's what happens when you calibrate to a sad movie. When you calibrate to a scary movie, you don't got to try to get scared. That's what happens when you calibrate to a scary movie. When you calibrate to what you want, when you start describing what you want, when you start filling in the details about what you want, when you start writing down what you want, when you started looking at that, when you start writing down what you want on your bathroom mirror, you see it every day. And it's not vague; it's descriptive. You thinking about what you want. You calibrating what you want. When you get calibrated, you don't got to try to feel motivated. You don't got to try to feel inspired. And if you keep calibrating, if you keep calibrating over and over again, you become confident on accident. People, Jay, how do I become confident? You confident in something. I don't know what right now, but right now it sounds like you confident in what you don't. I don't got confident. Oh, you confident in something. What you confident in? You come sound like right now your faith is pointed in what you don't want, because you got faith in something. Like a lot of times we talk about faith as is it only works in a positive direction. Did you know that you can point your faith at your failure, and faith is still gonna do what God designed it to do? The faith of a mustard seed, the faith of a mustard seed. But don't make the mistake of pointing your faith. Over here and what you don't want? Why would you put your faith over there? You gotta consciously start putting your faith in what you want. How do I do that, Jay? You don't force it. You get clear about what you want. You define what you want because you got to define what you want because this thing that you don't want, it's right here in your face. You can see it, taste it, touch it, feel it. You all you can apply all five senses to it. So if this got any chance of competing with this, you got to get descriptive about it. I don't like this job. I don't like the way they treat me. I don't like my boss. I don't like my co-workers. The culture, it's just so messy. It's just— you get going on that whole tandem. Cut that off early. I don't like my job. I don't like the way they treat me there. I deserve better. What I would rather have is— boom. Now this is where you're going to rant it. I didn't say you couldn't go on a rant. I just want you to do— go do the rant on this side. I didn't say you couldn't go on a rant. Just do yourself a favor and do the rant over here. I want more vacation days. I want freedom. I want to work from home. I want to be my own boss. I need flexibility. I desire flexibility. I'm a good worker. I'm a hard worker. I just want to work on my terms. I'd rather be on the night— Start getting descriptive about what you want. As you get descriptive about what you want, you start calibrating to it on accident. On accident. And if you keep calibrating to it, magic gonna happen. You're gonna become confident in it. On accident. You're gonna become confident in it on accident. Now what's gonna happen is once you become confident in this, you could be at that same job, but you're gonna start showing up to that same job as a different you. You're gonna be in that same environment, but you're gonna start showing up under the influence of this. It's gonna, it's gonna shift stuff for you. Or you can go fill out a job application, right? But I'd rather you fill out a job application for a new job from over here than instead of over here. Because if you under the influence of this and you go to that new job interview, they're gonna say, well, why are you leaving your current company? Because they not treating me right, and da da da da da, and they got me. And even if you don't say it with your mouth, you're gonna say it with your energy. You might say, I would never say that interview. I got enough sense to give the. You gonna— it's gonna come out of your field. You got this 8-foot energy diameter that follows you everywhere. If you show up to a job interview under the influence of this, and they'll hire you if they're a company with an equally screwed up culture as the one you currently in. But if you work— if you're going to apply at a company with good core values, you're going to apply with a company where the managers and the owners are operating over here. They're not gonna let somebody who's under the influence of this into their company culture. And you might think you, you smooth and suave and can talk your way through it. Vibration speaks louder than words. Energy speaks louder than words. Somebody who's calibrated over here, law— the thing that you call the law of attraction, they gonna feel the disconnect. And you go, well, they didn't hire me because I'm Black. They didn't hire me because I'm a woman. They didn't hire me because of my— now, they didn't hire you because you was under the influence of what you didn't want. I was telling the story earlier of how my daughter, when she asks for things, most of the time she would come and she would be under the influence of happiness thing, even though it's not in her room yet. She go, Daddy, I just saw this dollhouse on TV, and when I get it, Daddy, I'm gonna put it right beside my other dollhouse, and 5 of my Barbies gonna stay in my old dollhouse, Daddy, and 10 of my Barbies gonna stay in my new dollhouse because it's bigger. Ask her father. As her creator, so to speak, as this creator watching my mini creator talk about building subdivisions in her bedroom, and she excited about it, and she want it, and she's she's already she don't even got it yet. She's already sitting in the excitement of having. You got to know that wallet coming out. You got to know. I'm all Jay. She don't need another dog house. Her birthday right around, baby. Get your shoes. Let's go get your dog house. Let's go get your dollhouse. Did you see the smile on my baby's face? Did you see how excited my baby— she didn't even act. She put me on notice that she was getting a dollhouse. Daddy, I just saw this dollhouse on TV, and when I get it, I'm putting it right beside my other— she got a plan for it. She's calibrated to having a dollhouse. She's confident in having a dollhouse that's not even here yet. Let's say same daughter, same dollhouse, same daddy. But she get clarity that she don't got the dollhouse. The dollhouse that she don't get, that she do got, is not big enough. It's too small. It's stupid. She don't like it. She get calibrated to that. She get confident in it. Then come talk to Daddy. Then come talk to Daddy. That other dollhouse I got, it's stupid. It's 2 years old. It's too little, and none of my Barbies can't fit in it. I was like 7 years old when I got that one. I'm 11 now. I need a new dollhouse. That one's stupid. You think I'ma still be excited? To go get her that dollhouse. You think I'ma steal? I'ma be. I'm a girl to mom. You don't need a dollhouse. You already got one. Get your little ungrateful self. Go clean your room. I'm gonna find you some chores to do if you come talking to me from under the influence. You know what? You seem bored. Go clean your room. Get that stuff from under your bed. We let let let. I'm gonna find her some chores to do. It you see how you you acts different when you under the influence of this versus when you under the influence of what you don't want. Do yourself a favor and get under the influence of what you want. And then ask people to do, do business with you. Get under the influence— look, I know you went through a divorce, I know it was hard, but before you start dating, I need you to get from under the influence of this and get under the influence of this. I'm not saying you can't date again. I'm saying get under the influence of what you want and then date. I'm not saying don't go get you another job. I'm saying do yourself a favor, get under the influence of what you want, then go get you another job. I'm not saying don't go to the gym or don't work out. I'm saying get clear about what you want Get calibrated to what you want. Get confident that this version of you can have it. Then go unbig your back. Because if you go unbig or attempt to unbig your back from under the calibration of what you don't want, any excuse is a good enough excuse to quit. See, that's why I don't go to the gym. They be looking at me and judging me. I knew this. If you was clear, calibrated, and confident, they would have been invisible to you because you're not there to worry about what they doing. You would be there to Unbig your back. You would be so under the influence of unbigging your back that anybody that was in this 98% and has some negative to say, they become invisible to you. You got something called a reticular activation system, or RAS. Okay, if I was in Walmart with my daughter and we got separated— I'm getting loud, let me calm down. I was in Walmart with my daughter and we got separated, and I was looking for my daughter. My reticular activation system gonna say little brown girl, puffball, yellow sundress. Little brown girl, puffball, yellow sundress. Little brown girl, puffball, yellow sundress. It might be a guy who like 8 feet tall. Any other time I would see him and go, dog, he tall. When I'm looking for a little brown girl, yellow sundress, puffball, really tall guy becomes invisible to me because I'm— that's not what I'm looking for. That's not what I'm calibrated to right now. I told my body Finding my daughter is the most important thing in my life right now. Everything else is background noise. It might be a woman that's really attractive. Any other time I would notice, but when I'm looking for a little brown girl, sundress, puffball, attractive woman invisible. I'm not looking for attract. I'm looking for a daughter, yellow sundress, puffball. Everything else becomes background noise. It works the same way with this. When you're under the influence of this, this the stuff that you want. It's background noise. When we're under the influence of this, the stuff that you don't want is background noise. Do yourself a favor and get calibrated to what you want so that your paths to your success, so that the resources that you do have become big and loud, and the reasons to quit— the recession, the politics, your age, and all the other reasons you can quit— become background noise. You starting a business in this economy? Absolutely. You start— why you, you think people gonna pay you to talk to them? People not investing in— bro, I hear so many people, so many of my colleagues, man, people just don't invest in, in, um, self-development anymore. People, people don't invest in self-development. They'll pay for Beyoncé tickets, but they don't pay out. You calibrated over here. They investing like crazy in 5C. I got a waiting list for my 5C deep dive. I don't know what you— and my 5C deep dive not cheap. It's priced like Beyoncé tickets. So, but when you under the influence of over here, you're gonna align with all the excuses. You're gonna calibrate to the excuses. You're gonna find all the reasons that it won't work. Do yourself a favor and get over here. Do yourself a favor and get over here. Your pastor can't put you over here. Your therapist can't put you over here. Your life coach can't put you over here. You got to make a conscious decision to get over here. How do I do that, Jay? Get clear about what you want. Then what, Jay? Calibrate to what you want. Jay, I can only think about it for like a second. Like, I'll have a flash in my head, then it flash— it jump right out of my mind. Keep thinking about it for seconds, and eventually those seconds gonna start linking together. You're gonna get— be able to hold it for 30 seconds. Keep holding it in your mind. Okay, Jay, I'm holding it in my mind. What do I do now? Keep holding it in your mind. Keep seeing it. Keep visualizing. Keep experiencing it. It's gonna change the way you feel before it changes the way you act. Okay? It's going to change the way you feel before it changes the way you act. Okay? So when you— I was telling you, this calibration phase is about changing you. It's not about changing them. It's about changing you. So a lot of times what people do is they'll calibrate, but then they'll check their bank balance and go, it didn't work. The calibration not gonna change your bank balance. The calibration is gonna change you. Then it's changed. You is gonna change the bank balance. Does that make sense? The calibration process is about changing you. Now, if you need help calibrating, if you like, man, I like this 5C method, I need you to understand, guys, let's, let's slow down a bit. Successful people have successful processes. Successful people aren't special. They have processes. Look, I'm a young black dude from the projects raised by a single mom. There's nothing special about me. I got a process that I run. This is a process that I run. Successful people have a process. Get you a process that works. You can do it. You just need a process that works. And you got to stick to the process. Just understanding the process not gonna do it. It's one thing to know the process logically. You got to get the process in your body. Repetition. Watch those replays. Come to the lives over and over and over again. Get this worked into your body. People who real serious, get in our 5C mentorship. Get in the mentorship. Who was in the mentorship meeting last night? Were any of y'all in here? We only got 10 people here right now. Were any of y'all in the meeting last night? The meeting is where we really pull back the layers. The meeting is where we really distinguish. Well, Jay, I'm running 5C. I'm a barber. I'm growing my barber business and I'm running 5C and I'm, I'm doing the confidence part, but it's not working. And I say stuff like, well, tell me about your clarity. I just, I want to be a successful barber. No wonder the confidence— I work— you, you got to get back to clarity. What do you want? The same way you would over-describe what you don't want, the same way you would go on a rant about your boss, I need you to go on a rant about what you want. I want to be the best barber in my city, man. I want everybody to know if you want to get— if you want your fade to look great, you got to pull up on me. I eventually want my own shop, man. I want the chair in the very back. I want to have like 10 other spots that I rent out to other barbers. And long down the road, I want to start me a barber college, man. And I want to start teaching young dudes to grow where I grew up. Like, this is a good skill set. You can make as much money doing this as you can make selling drugs. That's what I need you to get clear about, what you want. If you don't got clarity, you ain't got nothing to calibrate to. You can't calibrate to more money. You can calibrate to lose some weight. You can calibrate to I want to be happy. No, what does that mean? If you woke up tomorrow and you were happy, how would you know? So if you want to get like really Mentored through the 5C process, you got to get in our mentorship. I said I'm gonna talk to y'all about confidence and consistency, but we'll get to those. People who want to get in the mentorship, go to the link in the bio and you're gonna click on the 5C Jumpstart. 5C Jumpstart is $49, and what it's gonna do is it's gonna work you through— walk you through a worksheet. That worksheet gonna help you get clarity. Don't rush through the worksheet. Do the worksheet. Please do yourself a favor and do the worksheet, because if you don't got clarity, you don't got anything to calibrate to. So the worksheet is going to help you get clarity. After you do the worksheet, there's a hypnosis audio that's going to help you get calibrated to your clarity. My background is in clinical hypnosis, so I've been doing hypnosis for almost 2 decades. I think it's like 17 years at this point. So we talking quit smoking, weight loss, quit biting my nails, I want to be too— I want to be more confident. PTSD. I'm afraid of flying. I'm afraid of spiders. I'm afraid of heights. All of that stuff— erectile dysfunction, sports performance enhancement, high performance coach— all of that is thinking. If you change the way you think, you change the way you act on accident. The hypnosis audio is going to help you to get calibrated. Now, if you keep calibrating, you become confident on accident. People try to force confidence, and that's why most people don't have it. Confidence is a natural, naturally occurring phenomenon to what you calibrate to. I bet you real confident that your name is your name. You ain't got to think about it. You just— your name is your name. You confident in it. You didn't have to read no book. You didn't have to study no process to become confident in your name. People just been calibrating you to it since you was a baby. They've been calling you that over and over again since you was a baby. People screamed it to you. People done whispered it at you. People done yelled it to you. You've heard it enough times that you became confident that that's your name. If you want to be a confident entrepreneur, I need you to get clear about what type of entrepreneur you want to be and get calibrated to entrepreneurship. I need you to get calibrated to entrepreneurship. If you keep calibrating entrepreneurship, you're going to become confident in entrepreneurship. You're going just through— like, think about it. You grew up in a house and you learned how to speak English just by being in that house. Nobody sat you down and taught you English. You was in a house where people were speaking English. If you get in the community where people are speaking entrepreneur, people are calibrating to entrepreneur, you're gonna learn how to speak entrepreneur on accident. You're gonna learn about profit margins, you're gonna learn about mergers, you're gonna learn about landing pages, you're gonna learn about funnels, you're gonna learn about value ladders, you're gonna learn about opt-ins, you're gonna learn about how to make an offer, you're gonna learn how to sell on the stage, you're gonna learn how to close sales, you're gonna learn how to speak entrepreneur just by getting in a community and being around entrepreneurs. You got to get calibrate it to what you want. If you keep calibrating, you're gonna become confident on accident. When I was teaching a lot of people street hypnosis, how to do it, bro, how do I get confident in— how do I get to the point where I know it's gonna work? How? Because I'm, I'm scared when I do it in front of people and I tell somebody something gonna happen. What if it don't happen? The only way to overcome that fear is to keep calibrating, keep getting out there, keep doing it, keep calibrating. One day you're gonna show up and go, wait a minute, I didn't bat an eye. You don't force confidence. You keep calibrating until it shows up. You don't force confidence. You keep calibrating until it shows up. And you don't calibrate to become confident. You calibrate because you like the way you feel when you calibrate. It's gonna supercharge your affirmation game if you let that sink into that thick-ass head of yours. You don't calibrate to get the end result. You calibrate because you feel good when you calibrate. You think better when you calibrate. You more influential When you calibrate it, you really be in your bag when you calibrate it. Actions flow through you when you calibrate it. The energy that creates worlds is flowing through your body and coming out of your mouth and going into your fingers when you calibrate it. When you're not calibrated, you trying to consciously go, well, what do I say? Where do I put my hands? Well, I want to be confident. Let me use good body. Now you look like a scarecrow trying to give a speech when you could have just got clear, calibrated, and confident and let that confidence do the work. When I'm on this, when I'm talking to you guys, I'd be just as surprised as you guys when the next thing come out of my— I don't know what I got, what I'm gonna say. I don't got no notes up here. I got clarity, I got calibration, and I got confidence, and that drives the boat. And that's why competence is step 4 and not step 1. You trying to do things without clarity, calibration, and confidence, and you think it don't work because you a female. You think it don't work because you Black. You think it don't work because you too short. Okay, you're not— isn't— you're not too sure. It's not your skin color. It's not— let me tell you something. When you clear, calibrated, and confident, people, people cannot like you, but they think you got the answer to their problem, they gonna spend some money with you. When you clear, calibrated, and confident, people who ain't got no business investing— I can't tell you how many older White gentleman just was like, Jay, I see something in you. I want to invest in you. I want can I mentor you? And I'm thinking like, bro, what this? What this sixty-year-old white man seeing twenty-year-old me? He can see that I'm clear, calibrated, and confident. Jay, you Jay, you remind me. You remind me so much of myself. I really want to invest. I'm like, why me? Like, are you up to something? Are you trying to invite me to like a daily party? I'm like, what? What's— I used to be confused, but as I studied more and hung around, they see the clarity, the calibration, the confidence. Because now I'm getting to a point where I mentor people. I'm getting to a point where people— I get a lot of, hey, can I mentor you? I'm getting the people that I see clarity, calibration, and confidence in, I tend to say, of course, absolutely. The people that I'm like, uh, you don't got clarity, you asking me stupid questions, you asking me stuff that you can Google. You asking me stuff that's— I'm not sitting down with an hour with you to answer things that you can ask anybody. You don't need me to answer that. No, you're not clear, you're not calibrated, you're not confident. But when you get clear, calibrated, and confident, I'm telling you, it's like God is working behind your back to give you what you want. But when you clear, calibrated, and confident in what you don't want, That same God, that same power, that same source is working behind your back to give you what you don't want. But you got to realize that there is only attraction. There is only attraction. There's no law of exclusion. That's the word I was looking for earlier. There is no law of exclusion. You got to understand, when you say, I really, really, really, really, really, really don't like that, that's the same thing as saying, I really, really, really, really, really, really do like that. The subconscious mind does not negate. What does that mean? The subconscious mind doesn't delete information. You got to stop telling yourself what not to do and start telling yourself what to do. You got to stop telling yourself what you don't want and start telling yourself what you would like to have. And as you describe that picture to yourself, as you get descriptive about what you like, your confidence go up naturally. Your shoulders roll back, your chest go out, your chin go— as you thinking about what you want, your body responds to that. When you watch that sad movie, you don't got to try to feel sad. Just put your attention on the movie. When you watch that funny movie, you don't got to try to laugh. Just put your attention on the movie. If you watch an erotic film, you don't got to try to get aroused. Just put your attention on the movie. But if you get clear about what you want and you calibrate to it and you put your attention on it, you don't got to try to get good ideas. And don't really good ideas give you energy? Don't really good ideas show up with energy? Oh, that's a good idea. Don't you get a burst of excitement when you get a good idea? Yeah. You don't need motivation when you under the influence of what you want. Good ideas show up. It's things that you go, oh, that's exciting. Oh, that could actually work. Oh, I want to do this thing. You don't need a pep talk. You don't need, oh, I'm ready for Jay to go live so I can get motivated. When you under the influence of what you want, good ideas wake you up out of your damn sleep. Now, how many nights I done sat up straight in the bed like, oh, where my iPad at? I just came up with my next course. I know the next workshop we doing at 5C. Yeah, I don't— when you get calibrated, you don't gotta look for good ideas. Good ideas find you. I wasn't looking for I Code to Bosses. I had enough shit to do. This new community that we just started, I wasn't looking for a new community. I got enough shit to do. Dreams in Action, I wasn't looking for Dreams in Action. It found me. Flow state, what a lot of people call mastery. But this is what I like about the 5C process. It gives you a framework so you can say, I'm not failing, I'm on step 2. I'm not failing, I'm calibrating. It's, it's not working. It is working. I'm getting clarity. The perfect place to get clarity is over here. I don't like this. What don't I like about it? It's too long. Okay, I want it to be shorter. Now, how can I make it shorter? Now I'm gonna focus on it. I'm not gonna focus on it being too long. I'm gonna focus on how do I make it shorter. I'm not gonna focus on the debt. Now I ain't saying I'm not gonna pay the debt. Listen to what I'm saying. I'm not gonna focus on the debt. It's $20,000 worth of debt that I don't want over here. What would I rather have? I'd rather have $20,000 to pay it off. I'm gonna spend my time thinking about 20. $20,000 that I want, not the $20,000 that I don't have. I'm gonna go, I want $20,000. $20,000 to get me from under this debt. $20,000 to get these people from calling my house. $20,000, I can get my credit. I can get the life I want. I could buy that house that I want to want, that I want to buy. And I'm smarter now than I was when I ran up that $20,000 debt. When I get rid of this $20,000 debt, I'm gonna do right with my credit. I'm gonna use my credit to build generational wealth. You're gonna get some really good ideas about how to get that $20,000 from over You're gonna get frustrated, get a headache and upset and ulcers and all types of other stuff from over here. Stop letting Dave Ramsey scream at you. You know you borrowed more car than you can afford. You know that you— you got it. Stop letting people fuss at you. Stop, stop fussing at yourself. You got it. What do you want? I want to be debt-free. I want to be debt-free. I can be debt-free. I know what I want. Let me get calibrated to what I want. I want to be debt-free. I want to be debt-free. $20,000 is the only thing standing in between me and being debt-free. $20,000 is not a lot of money. Like, on the— it's a lot of money, but it ain't a lot of money. Like, I wouldn't go work for nobody for $20,000 a year. That ain't enough money. $20,000 is not a lot of money. Let me see something. What is $20,000 Divided by 365. Hmm. Wait, you telling me $54 a day is what it takes for me to be debt-free? $54 a day for a year is what it takes for me to do— be debt-free. Or if I did it over 2 years, $25 a day. You telling me I could be— I'm stressing myself out over $25? I spend that at Starbucks. You see how ideas start coming into focus when you get under the influence of what you want? Same $20,000, but now it's under the influence of having the $20,000 instead of under the influence of not having the $20,000. From under the influence of not having it, it's scary. I'm not creative. I don't got access to good ideas. I'm stressed out. I'm screaming at my kids. I'm screaming at my wife. I'm, I'm, I'm stressed. But from under the influence of having the $20,000 Oh, wait a minute. I've been pulling my hair out over $25 freaking dollars a day. If I do it over 3 years— okay, that's the plan. You know what? I'm really good at baking cakes. People always calling me and asking me to bake cakes. Next person who call me to bake cake, I'm say, yeah, I'mma bake it, but you gonna have to bring me $60. I'mma bake it, but, but you, you gonna have to bring me $60. And the people calling me to bake cakes and I'm not even marketing for baking cakes. Oh man, if I can— my son could build me a website. I'm gonna see if my son could build me a website. I'm gonna get on that TikTok thing that these kids be talking about. I'm gonna start putting my cakes on TikTok. I'm gonna start again. Now you got that $20,000 you was in the negative just gave birth to a business that you're gonna get to pay the $20,000 off and still keep making money. You see how that problem just gave birth to a solution? And that's what I love about problems. Problems give birth to solutions, but even after you solve the problem, you get to keep the resources that you developed to handle the problem. Myron Golden talks about how wealthy people pay for things based on their creativity. So we don't look at money the same. If I want to buy something that costs $10,000, I'm gonna go sit down and go, hmm, I wanna buy this thing, it costs $10,000. I'm going to develop a course and it's worth $2,000. I'm gonna sell it for $500. I'm gonna put $2,000 worth of information inside of a $500 course and I'm gonna sell it to 20 people. I'm gonna— I'm gonna develop a $500— I got pounds of information. I got tons of information. I do this at a high level. I'm gonna go sit down, I'm gonna take 30 days, I'm gonna work on this for about an hour a day for 30 days. Sometimes I'm gonna get really good for it, I might accidentally put in 3 or 4, but I'm gonna work on this course for 30 days. I'm gonna develop a course called the Fire Your Boss Quickly, Easily, Effortlessly. I don't know, I would come up with a sexy title, but I'm gonna, I'm gonna put $2,000 worth of information in this course. I'm gonna sell it for $500. And I'm gonna sell it to 20 people, and I'm gonna get to— you see how that, that problem gave birth to something? But guess what? Even after I sell the course to 20 people and I got the $10,000 that I needed to handle whatever I was handling, I still got this course that I could sell. I still got this course that I could sell. But you don't think like that from under the influence of what you don't want. You don't got access to those types of ideas from over here. You got access to those type ideas from over From over here. Okay, we're doing a 5C mentorship tonight at 6 PM. 6 PM. The key to the 5C mentorship is the 5C Jumpstart. I would love it if you can get your 5C Jumpstart and at least start on the questionnaire before we meet tonight, because what we do in these mentorships is I answer your nuanced questions about 5C. Like, I give you the theory of 5C in the lives, and the mentorship is where you can say, okay, Jay, this is what I'm working on, and I'm having a hard time applying 5C. I'm trying to do this calibration process, but every time I get good and calibrated, my wife pissed me off. And I'm trying to be calibrated, but it's— I, I can't not calibrate to her, and she's sitting right there. Ignoring her, not an option, because that's only gonna make it worse. What do I do? That's what— that's the type of— like, on, on TikTok, we talk in general. We talking about— we just teaching the process. In the mentorship, that's where we get to ask really good questions and we get to iron out the nuances. Because as I talk to people, I'm realizing like, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, you confusing clarity with competence. That's what I was seeing yesterday. People was trying to do the planning in the clarity phase. Clarity is not about planning. Clarity is about figuring out what you want. We do planning after confidence. I don't want you planning nothing while you still confident in this. I want you to get confident in this, and then we're gonna do the planning. You ever been on somebody's website and it just— it feel poor? Like, it feel cheap? You ever been on a website, it feels cheap? You're like, uh, I ain't put my credit card number on this shit. No, I'm good, man. Like, but guess what happened? They built their website from under the influence of not They built that website, they felt cheap when they built it. So it is only natural that when you feel cheap when you building a website, it's gonna look cheap because you was under the influence of cheap when you built it. I want you to get over here, then build a business, and then do the work. So anybody who's wanting to join us tonight, you need to get your 5C Jumpstart. The 5C Jumpstart is gonna help you get clarity. That's the first C. Clarity is the foundation of the 5C process. Without clarity, you don't got anything. You can't get what you want until you know what you want. The example I always use is imagine if you got in an Uber and said, "Don't take me to the mall. I hate the mall." Why are you just sitting here? Go, sir. Where am I taking you? I just told you don't take me to the mall. God, I hate the mall. It's so expensive. You go to the mall? Are you stupid? I don't. I ain't been to the mall since I was a teenager. I don't do the mall. Well, sir, where do you want me to? I just told you don't take me to the mall. I don't like the mall. That's how a lot of people go through life. That's how a lot of people go through life. They not. They don't know what they want. They know what they don't want. They'll never talk about what they don't. They'll never talk about what they want. But boy, they will. I'm glad. So glad we got unlimited data these days. Boy, they will run through them little 1,500 minutes that we used to have talking about what they don't want. Getting on TikTok, watching videos about what they don't want, sending it to their friend. This me, bitch. Like what? Okay, keep calibrating to that shit. Who this remind you of? Keep calibrating to that shit because you're gonna keep getting it. Keep calibrating to that. Keep getting friends that find the humor in that with you. Keep doing it. If you want that. But if you want something different, the next time you find yourself getting ready to go on one of those rampages, I want you to say, well, what would I rather have? Now, I'd rather have a relationship where I feel valued. I'd rather have a relationship like I never had that growing up, but my cousin, her dad was in her life. I won't— I, I want to feel like that, the way he would treat her. He would take her on these daddy-daughter dates. And just because you never experienced it firsthand, don't— you got an imagination. You can sit yourself in a reality that never existed. You do it all the time to stay sad. Did you know 50% of the shit you remember never happened? Oops. Latest neuroscience shows that half of the shit that you remember never happened. You exaggerated it, you changed it, you altered it. A lot of how you remember had to do with what your blood sugar levels were at the time that it occurred. Were you dehydrated? Most of the people are. Did you have protein in your body? Most half of the stuff you remember never happened. Uh oh. So if you're making up shit anyway, make up some shit that's gonna make you feel better. That's that's that's if you making it up anyway, because you and you'll be arguing about that's not what happened. I was there. How you gonna tell me? And I was there too. You just don't want to admit what you. Yeah, whatever. You making it up. You making up stuff anyway. Make up something that's gonna excite you. Make up something that's gonna motivate you. Make up something that's gonna inspire you. You making it up anyway. Stop remembering your past and start remembering your future. I'm 33, y'all, and I recently went to, um, my homecoming. I'm 32. I'll be 33 in January, I think. I don't know. It was people getting excited about a championship they won in 2010. It was the weirdest thing to me. We the champs, we the champs. Like, bro, you've been out of high school for two decades. What are you talking about? What are you talking about? Let's let's remember the future. What do you want? What do you want? You don't even know what that ring get no more. Your fat fingers can't even fit in that ring. Like, come on. What? Join me here. Join me here right now. Get out of the past. What do you want? What do you want? Because you can have it, but it's gonna require you getting under the influence of what you want. It's gonna require you getting under the influence of what you want. Get in the mentorship. It's going to give you the worksheet for clarity. Work through that worksheet, and it's going to give you a hypnosis audio For calibration, worksheet for clarity, hypnosis audio for calibration. You keep calibrating, you gonna become confident on accident. You don't force confidence; you allow confidence. Okay? You don't force confidence. You don't force confidence just like you don't force anxiety. You get confident in an unwanted result, then anxiety shows up. You want confidence? Get calibrated to a wanted result and watch how confidence shows up. Okay, after you get confident, then you take competence. Competence is you. Competence is not me. You already know what to do. You already know what you need to do. You just don't feel like doing it. You don't feel like you can do it, but you know what to do. If you want to lose weight, you know to work out, drink more water, eat less carbs, move your body more. You know to get more calories out than in. You know that stuff. Problem is you don't feel like doing it. Let's get clear about what you want. Let's get you calibrated. Let's get you confident. And you won't— then go do the stuff that you already know to do. Then from that knowing, you're gonna get in the gym, you're gonna meet trainers, you're gonna get more information on top of the information that you already got. But right now, more information not gonna help you. You already know stuff that you should be doing that you're not freaking doing. Giving you 10 more new things to do not gonna help you at this point. I'm so tired of seeing people try to build 7 streams of income at one time. I'm talking to you as somebody who has several streams of income. I built all of those things one income at a time. Even at this day, with as much practice as I have, said, oh, that's a good idea. I'm unpacking this right now. I'm coming to that idea in a second. Write that down so I won't forget it. But I'm building this right now. When you read the Bible, God was creating one thing at a time. The ultimate creator was creating one thing at a time. Why do you think you're going to create 7 things at one time. I didn't say you couldn't desire multiple things at one time, but I need you focusing your effort. If you come to me and say, hey Jay, I want to quit smoking, I want to lose 30 pounds, I want to be more confident, I want to quit biting my nails, and I want to quit vaping, I'm gonna say, cool, which one you want to do first? Which one do you want to do first? Because if we work on all of those in this session, you're gonna leave, you're gonna vape a little less, you're gonna bite your nails a little less, you're gonna be a little bit more confident. You might lose a little bit of weight, but you're gonna have 3% of your results over here, 5% of your results over there, 7% of your results over there, and you're gonna go, hypnosis don't work, I wasted my money. No, you didn't waste your money. You spread your focus. You diluted your focus. Your, your greatness is not in your potential. Your greatness is in your ability to focus your potential. Do you understand that? Your greatness is not in your ability to do— I could do this, I'm good at this, I'm good at this, I'm good at that, I'm good at this, I'm good at this, I'm good at this. Cool. Your greatness is which one of these do you want to be great at? I'm good at a lot of stuff. I play piano, I play drums, I play guitar. I'm a good speaker. I'm great at hypnosis. I can't dance worth a damn. I'm a good reader. I'm good at a lot of stuff. But in order to start generating real wealth, I had to say, okay, which one of these things am I going to There's a lot of people who good at a lot of stuff. Which one of these things excite me enough that I could put my 10,000 hours in and get great at? Trying to do everything at once, it's hard enough to build one website. You trying to build 4, each, each site uglier than the last site. No, like, no offense, I'm just telling y'all what I'm, what I'm seeing as I'm coaching people. And I'm like, okay, hey, Let's niche this down. Well, no, my product is for everybody. I, I, I hear you, and I know that everybody— let me tell you the dope thing about niching down. Niching down gives you the room to become an expert in an area, okay? Get niching down gives you like I can be the hypnotherapist that works with everything, and I was for a long time. I quadrupled revenue overnight when I say I want to work with entrepreneurs, I want to work with high performers. I coach bosses. If you don't resonate with the word boss, you don't want to work with me. I'm gonna push you harder than you want to be pushed. I'm gonna drive you farther than you want to be driven. I'm gonna hold you accountable in a way that you might not be ready to be held accountable. I coach Bosses, specifically entrepreneurs. I like to work with entrepreneurs and professional athletes, high performers. I want to work with people who want to be the best. I don't want to be in the NBA, I want the NBA to revolve around me. I don't want to be a coach, I want to be the coach. Those are the people that, that I work with. If that's not you, no beef, I just don't want to talk to you once a week. When I narrow down, these are the people I'm talking to. It's only 11 people here, but it's 11 people that resonate with that. Okay, and you gotta understand the emails I get. Hey Jay, I know you work with entrepreneurs, but can you help me with erectile dysfunction? Absolutely, absolutely. That's very much a thinking problem. That's either a dehydration problem or you got a serious physical milk— I mean, um, like biological thing going on where your vessel's not working. But if you— do you wake up with an erection? Okay, so it does get— it just don't get hard when you want to go? Absolutely, that's a thinking problem all day long. Jay, can you help me quit smoking? Absolutely. Do I market for quit smoking? No, I coach bosses. I work with bosses. But do I know how to help you quit smoking? Absolutely. So I'm still gonna get those calls. Hey man, I was in your live and I heard all this stuff you was talking. That's great. I'm not an entrepreneur, but I was just wondering, do you help people quit smoking? You mentioned something about hypnosis. Those people still gonna work with you because they see you as an expert. They still gonna— hey man, I'm going out on a limb here. Do you work on such and such? And you get to go, yeah, I do. Don't think you leaving money on the table by niching down. What you're doing is getting— you're making yourself a big fish in a little pond. Would you rather be a little fish in a big pond, or would you rather be a big fish in a little pond? Think about other hypnotism, man. How you, how you doing it over there? How you keeping that schedule full? Because I'm not on here today talking about quit smoking, on here tomorrow talking about weight loss. I get on every day and I talk about the 5 C's. I get on here every day and I talk about clarity, calibration, confidence, competence, and consistency. I get on every day and say, hey, you know you could be doing, have anything that you desire. The only thing stopping you is you. Your only limit is your own imagination. If you could think it, you could do it. If you can't think, you can't do it. You don't get that efficient when you spreading your focus. You don't get that locked in when you spreading your focus. You don't get that I'm calibrating to one thing over and over and over and over and over again. So it looks a lot like mastery. When I'm talking about this one thing, do yourself a favor and say, okay, I'm good at a lot of stuff. Which one of these do I want to lock in on and master? And guess what? You can circle back and write the book, but this time when you write the book, guess what? You got 100,000 people who already care what you gotta say. You can go launch that other business, but this time when you go launch that other thing you've been talking about, you get to say, hey, y'all know I do, um, No, I do NLP too. You know I train people in hypnosis. Wait a minute, I've been listening to you talk for two. You train people hypnosis? They don't care how much it costs. They've been listening to you. You got an audience. Once you got an audience, you can look. Michael Jordan was so good at basketball; they allowed him to go suck at basketball. I mean baseball, and nobody said nothing. What you gonna say is Michael Jordan? He he he he was so good at basketball that he just went. When was whatever at baseball, and they let him do it because he Michael Jordan. Who gonna tell him no? What are you gonna master? You could do all that other stuff that you want to do on the other side of mastering that one thing. You're gonna get so good at that that you go out and be mediocre at some other stuff and they still gonna support it because they, because they like you. Do yourself a favor and narrow it down. Do yourself a favor and start talking to a specific group of people. Yeah, I'm gonna start talking to a specific group of people. Okay, do yourself that favor. And do yourself another favor and get in the 5C mentorship. Get that 5C Jumpstart. Work through that worksheet. Listen to that recording. Get calibrated. Keep calibrating until you discover that you've become confident. Then take off like a rocket and do it consistently. That's the process, guys. That's the process. Get clear about what you want. Get calibrated. Get confident. Competence is where you take action. You already know what to do. You just need to get clear, calibrated, and confident so you can do it and stick to it and apply consistency. Join the 2%. This 98%, old news. These are people who respond. They don't think. They wait on CNN, MSNBC to tell them what to do. They wait on the news to tell them what to do. They went on things they see on TikTok to tell them what to do. These are the people who go, what do I want? What everybody else doing? I don't care what everybody else doing. What do I want? While the other hypnotists, they wearing suits and they— I don't get what— what I want to wear, a t-shirt. I want to wear a ball cap. You know what, I don't even really look at myself as a hypnotist anymore. I look at myself as a coach that happened to know a lot about the subconscious mind. I don't want to wear a suit. I want to wear what I want to wear. I want to be comfortable. I'm thinking about putting a whistle around my neck. I'm thinking about really just getting it, stepping fully into this coach mindset. You in the session, you say the wrong thing, I'm limited, and beliefs start creeping in. I go, and I just blow the whistle loud as hell. Like, what are you talking about, man? You know what, I gotta whistle. I'll be right back, hold on. I got a whistle somewhere. I don't know, I ain't gonna make y'all wait while I look for it, but yeah, I'm gonna start wearing my whistle. You could be doing— have anything you desire. It's gonna take you making a decision. To start thinking about what you want and stop spending so much time thinking about what you don't want. Okay, I know you're a good friend and you like to let your friend vent. Start letting your friend vent. Let them get it off their chain saying they can't vent. Before you get in the car, say real quick, girl, what you want though? I know you, I know you tired of him and his shit and yada yada yada, like, and I get it, I hear you, but what you want? In the conversation, you, you don't understand the favor that you just did her. By saying, girl, I hear you, I've been there. Oh, and I know how you feel. But what you want, best friend? Before you get— before we go to bed, what do you want? Don't try to fix her. She not broke. She just calibrated to what she don't want. It's no— bro, my job as a coach and a therapist got so much easier when I realized they not broken. They calibrated to what they don't want. Their body working like they— like it's supposed to work. They got clarity about what they want. I mean, about what they don't want. They calibrated to what they don't want. They confident in what they don't want. So they take— their competence is being birthed by what they don't want, and they doing it consistently. They not broken. They calibrated to what they don't want. I don't want— Help your friend calibrate to what she want. You don't understand though. Best friend, I hear you, and girl, he's so wrong for doing— I can't believe he would do you like that, his ugly ass. I never liked him. But anyway, what you want, best friend? What, what do you want? What you mean, girl? You know what I want. No, for real, if I had a magic wand and I could wave it, what, what would you have? What would that look like? And end the call right there. Don't be surprised when she go, girl, I don't know, I just don't want this. Don't take If you did know— oh, that's one of my favorite things to say in the session. If you woke up tomorrow, you were confident, how would you know? I don't know. Okay, if you did know, give me your best guess. And I would, I would walk around thinking positive thoughts, good body language. I would take up— I would take chances. Keep going. Start. Let people vent because, because that is needed. You need to get it out. You need to express it. Emotions are energy in motion. So let the inner— let it move out the body, but don't keep getting back in it. That's the failure loop. Don't keep calibrating to what you don't want. I was sad, I felt better, but then I started thinking about it again. Now I'm sad again. Then I felt better and I went out with some friends and I got distracted. When I got home, I calibrated to it again. Then I felt better, but then I calibrated to it again. And eventually your body go, well, don't even get rid of the feeling, she just gonna calibrate to it again. Keep it. Now that's depression. I ain't saying you can't feel it. I ain't saying you gotta act like your life is perfect when it ain't. Feel it, talk about it, get you one or two good venting sessions in. But at some point— what's up, King? At some point you got to say, okay, what would I rather have? What would I rather— what did I learn from this? What did I learn about me? What did I learn about my desires? I'm so happy that I had the luxury of being married once and That ended in a divorce. But now I'm so calibrated when I know what I want. That front row seat to what I didn't want, boy, I got a lot of clarity about what I want now. I date different now. I'm not like— looks, don't get me wrong, it's still— I'm still a little shallow. That still matter a little bit, but it's some other things on the list. It's some other things on the list. It's some different qualities. But having a front row seat to what I didn't want, I got a lot of clarity about, uh, I didn't like this, this, this, this. Okay, what do I want? What, what do I look for in a partner? What do you want? You gotta answer that question. So I'm gonna be in a Zoom room at 6 PM. We're gonna be in and out, it's gonna be quick.
