Your intentions control your attention. And when you don't got clear intentions, other people control your attention. Your goals, what you want out of life, controls what you pay attention to. But if you're not taking time to get clear about what you want, you give other people control of your attention. You give other people control of your outcome. I'm a clinically trained hypnotist. Guess what's the first thing I do when I hypnotize somebody? Get their attention. Get their attention. If they don't have any intentions, guess what? It's very easy for me to get their attention. When they have intentions, guess what I got to do? I got to align my intentions with their intentions. I don't get access to their attention until I take care of their intentions. If I go downtown to do street hypnosis and I'm trying to do stuff like glue people to the ground and glue their eyes shut and make them forget their name and make them forget numbers, first thing I got to do is get their attention. But let's say they came downtown with an intention of networking. They didn't come downtown with the intention of getting hypnotized. They came downtown with the intention of networking. They came downtown with the intention of growing their business. When I say, hey, can I hypnotize you? They gonna say, hypnotize? No. I say, what if— what you out doing tonight, man? I just came out to do a little networking. What if I could help you get unshakable confidence? What if I kept you walking in any room with your shoulders back, your chest out, and your head up, thinking clear, positive thoughts? What if I could teach you to be a people magnet? Would you be interested in getting hypnotized then? Now that I I've touched their intentions. Now they willing to be like, they be like, yeah, man, I'm Coach J, man. I coach bosses. But if they didn't have clear-cut intentions when they left the house, as soon as I say, hey, come here, man, I'm gonna show you some cool fucking hypnotizing, they would have played into my intentions because they didn't have intentions of their own.
