Jay shares how he spent years motivating friends and soldiers without realizing it was his purpose until a client's question made him see it. He argues that purpose becomes powerful when you intentionally use the talent you naturally excel at, and urges listeners to inventory what they do effortlessly and deliberately cultivate those gifts.

What's good? It's your boy Young Abundant. Check this out. I just finished a session with a client. We were talking about purpose and walking in your purpose and how when you start to walk in your purpose, things start to stack up in your favor. It's like the universe is actively stacking the odds in your favor once you're walking in that purpose and doing what you were designed to do. My client asked me, she said, well, Jay, when did you discover what your purpose was? And I had to sit back and think about it. And the crazy thing is, what I realized is I was walking in my purpose before I ever knew what my purpose was. Like, I can remember times when I was 3 and 4 years old, my grandmother used to clean our church. And while my grandmother was cleaning the church, I'll be in the pulpit playing around doing this. And sometimes our pastor would be at the church and he'll come out and talk to me and he'll tell me, man, you're gonna take my job one day. He would tell— I remember being 3 and 4 years old, Pastor Johnny Drumgo in Monroe, Louisiana, telling me that I had a calling on my life to minister to people. And I didn't— I'm only 29, I might Have a church one day. I don't know. I didn't, so I didn't do it in that way. But I've been speaking life into people since I was a kid. I remember being in the fifth or sixth grade motivating friends. I remember being in the military motivating people. I remember being when I was working at Best Buy motivating people. But my purpose, this this was the kicker though. This the part. This the reason I sat down to record this video. I realized that everybody else was benefiting on my purpose. Until I started using on purpose. The day that I started using my purpose on purpose, the day that I sat down and took inventory and said, you know, what am I really good at? What's something I can do and give 50% effort and my 50% effort look like a lot of people's 100% effort? And the answer was motivating. The answer was talking. The answer was speaking. When I started doing that on purpose, that's when my gifts started making room for me. So I want you to sit back and I want you to analyze your life and I want you to ask yourself, what's Something that I just do on accident, something I'm just naturally good at, something that I enjoy doing, something that I would do for free. And I want you to start doing it on purpose. I want you to start doing that thing on purpose. And I think we on to something. I think it's like an apple seed. An apple seed is always an apple seed. It just don't really do anything until you plant it. So if I'm a motivator, I was born a motivator. It can't bless me the way that it's meant to bless me until I plant it. If you a beautician, you gonna be a beautician. You gonna be doing your friends' hair here and there. You gonna be doing your kids' hair. You might even do your hair from time to time. But it can't bless you and your family the way it's meant to bless you and your family until you start doing it on purpose. That's it. We outta here. Y'all be easy.
