A father describes his premature son's fight to survive and draws a parallel to how rushing success destroys growth. Just as a baby needs time in the womb to build immunity, people need to develop resilience slowly before facing the world.

My oldest son was born premature. It was not fun. It was scary. I wish he could have stayed in the oven and finished cooking. We didn't know if Buddy was gonna make it. Thank God he did, but we didn't know if he was. You want it to grow inside of you. It's scary out there. You want it to build its immunity inside of you. You want the vision to grow inside of you. You want it to feed off of you. You want it to pick up its immunity before it goes out there. By the time it get out there, it need to be able to stand on its own. Stop rushing stuff, man. Control what you can control.
