When you're getting ready to do cold calling, you want to think about three things. Who do you need to call? Why are you calling them? And what is your intent in opening up the conversation? Are you wanting to simply have a dialogue about a fit? Are you wanting to build a new relationship? Is your intent that you want to sell the product? If so, maybe that's something that you might want to think about. But knowing those three things before you start to cold call each time will make sure that you've assigned a purpose to what you're doing, and it can get rid of some of the nerves.
