A sales technique from SAM Sales: wait one to two days before thanking a prospect, turning the follow-up into a gentle reminder. One seller sent a delayed thank-you after 12 hours of silence on a contract, and the procurement contact responded within an hour, confirming the deal.

I did want to add in one tip that we use a lot at SAM Sales, where it's okay to not be urgent, and that is the delayed thank you. So if you ask somebody to get something to you, they said, yes, I'm right on it. Rather than being the urgent bird and responding thanks. Just wait a day, two days, and then say the thank you. It's a no ask. And then it reminds them that, oh, yeah, I was supposed to get that to them. So,
yeah, this is something that, you know, I actually did late last night about send a agreement to procurement team. You know, it's one of our partners, and to Paige's pulling a little bit of back and forth. And also my team, you know, email procurement said like, hey, you know, here's redline agreements, all the good stuff. You know, we're good to go, right? He didn't respond. Traditionally, I would have chimed in, you know, again, going back to super urgency and saying, like, oh, my God, you know, looking forward to this, so on and so forth. But again, in all honesty, what I did is steal a Sam Sales is. And I actually let the email set for about 12 hours. Responded into the email this morning saying, hey, wow, you know, super exciting news. Glad we got this all settled out. And it was, I'd say, maybe less than an hour later that he finally did respond to that email saying, like, yeah, great, thanks so much for the partnership. Excited to move this forward. So it's another really great best practice that folks should take away from this.
