Alex Hormozi and Jeremy Miner break down three phrases that kill sales conversations. Avoid these words and watch your close rate climb.
Never, ever, ever say these three words in sales. They make you look like a dork and no one's gonna buy your stuff. Hey, Nick, I'm just checking in with you. Instead, say, hey, Nick, I just had a second to get back to you.
It sounds like he might be following me or maybe he's one of our clients or something. But you don't want to say words that all salespeople say. Like, how many times do you get an email or a call, like, hey, I'm just checking in, or I'm just following up. So instead I might say, yeah. Is this John? Yeah, John, hey, it's Jeremy. Jeremy Minor. We. Looks like we talked. I want to say it was like two or three months, you guys looking at XYZ so that you could abc. Did you guys give up on that or what? What actually happened? But that's what I would change there.
Hey, Nick, I haven't heard from you. Instead, say, hey, Nick, it's great to connect again. I really think you should move forward today. Instead say, where do you think we should go from here?
Yeah, he must be following me or one of our clients. So you don't want to say, I really think we should move forward because that's coming from you. The prospect is like, well, you're trying to sell me something. You're biased. Right. So I want to lean in and ask you what we call an NEP Q Commitment question. I might say, do you feel like this could be an answer for you? Yeah, we really do. But hold on. Why do you feel like it is? Then they tell you and themselves why they feel like it is. I agree with a lot what this guy says. Yeah, for sure.
