Your mama taught you that you need to be nice and polite to people, but in a sales situation, it's actually lowering your status. When you use words like, "Hey, thank you for taking the time to meet with me today," or "I'm so grateful that I'm with you today as I know you have a really busy schedule," or "I'm grateful for the opportunity to present my XYZ product to you," what you are communicating to that prospect subconsciously is that they should value their time far more than they should value your time. Now, why is that crucial for you not to do? Because then they start to view you as just another salesperson trying to sell them something, and that's why they ghost you. That actually lowers your status, and they put you in that category of salesperson trying to sell me something, and the guard goes up.
