Short excerpt from a YouTube Q&A titled “Best Advice for Young Real Estate Agents.” An 18-year-old, Luke Martin from Oak Ridge, N.C., asks for advice; Tom Ferry strongly recommends joining a team to gain confidence, knowledge, and experience under mentors (including learning from his father) before attempting to start an independent real estate business.
Number four. I've been waiting for this one. Shout out to.
Luke Martin, Oak Ridge, N.C. 18.
Years old, getting his real estate license next.
Month, which means we need to follow up with Luke and see if he got it, because it's, like, a month ago.
What would your best.
Advice be for someone my age? Join a team.
All right, question number five.
Yeah. Because that's all it is, Luke. Join a team. Why? But, Tom, I want to be an entrepreneur. I want to go out there and kill it. Cool. You know what? I felt the same exact way when I was young. But the gift that I had to go work and play and learn under the tutelage of my pops gave me.
So much more.
Confidence, understanding, and knowledge to then go start a business. So slow down, brother. Join a team, Right? Pick a team.
You have to deal with, like, lousy managers, good managers, people that give you lots of attention, people that give you no attention, people that give you leads don't give you leads.
It's all just a learning lesson, Luke. You need all those experiences.
Experiences to understand and shape sort of your perspective on this business.
