College is mandatory for regulated careers like law and medicine, but optional for business and sales. The speaker has a neuropsychology degree but learned actual sales skills from mentors and practice, not school.

Is college a scam? I mean, it depends on what you do. If you're going to be an attorney, you kind of go to go to law school. If you're a doctor, you're probably going to want your doctor to go to some type of schooling to get that schooling. I believe there's no right or wrong answer here. For some professions you have to go to school. Like the professions I just listed, other professions, like if you're going to be in business or in sales and other things, you don't necessarily have to go, but you're still going to have to learn. Like, you're going to hire coaches, you're going to have to hire people who have already mastered the thing that you want to master. You can do that outside of college, for sure. Like, none of my professors really taught, you know, I went to school for neuropsychology, studied the brain and how it works in the nervous system with human psychology. And that did give me a foundation to understand sales from a different way. But it's not like they taught me what questions to ask and how to use your tone. And those are things I had to learn myself and from other mentors who'd already mastered sales themselves. So it really depends on what you want to be. Depends on if you go to school or not.
