He did a great job but be careful about this! 🚨

A coach breaks down a cold-call role-play, praising the opener's disarming tone and specific tactics like time-boxed asks and curiosity prompts. Key moves: admit it's a cold call upfront, use playful language, ask for just 30 seconds, and personalize the calendar invite with the prospect's favorite food. Good morning. Would you reward my honesty if I openly told you this is a cold call?
I'm on my way for holiday right now.
I'll take.
I think this guy's funny, actually. I like this. I'm okay with this as a pattern erupt. I would just take out the word honestly. Because when you say, I just want to be honest with you or honestly, all it does subconsciously to your prospect's brain is say he's not always honest. So I like the pattern up. I would just change the word honestly. And, like, you know, just so you're aware. I just. Hey, I just wanted to make sure you're aware. Would you get angry at me if I said this was a cold call now? Well, no, I'm not going to be angry at you. What do you got? Notice how my tone's playful? Not. Would you be angry at me if I told you this was a cold call? Like, I see it's over.
I'll take 30 seconds. If it's not relevant, you never hear my Italian accent again. Is that fair?
I like that. So what he's doing, he's disarming the prospect right there. So I might say, yeah. And it might not even make sense for us to talk. And, you know, after we talk for 30 seconds or a minute, you know, if you feel like, hey, this is not going to do anything for you, like, you never. You'll never have to hear my Italian voice again. Are you with me?
Yeah. My Italian accent again. Is that fair?
Yeah.
I'm a sales trainer, but this might be the part you tell me the team is perfect.
No know. You know, the real answer is.
See? Good. See what he did here? Here's why I'd relanguage it. Here's the part where you tell me your team's a hundred percent perfect and nothing could ever get better. Right. Notice I said 100% because no one likes anything you've ever bought. 100%. Think about the person you're dating now. Think about who you're married now. Your first two or three months, they were perfect. Could do no wrong. They floated on cloud nine, angels on wings. Six months later, you found things you didn't like. So if you use word 100% perfect, you're going to give it a more stronger reaction than this guy did. But I actually like this technique.
No, you know, the real answer is going to be far from that. I'll be happy for you to give me a call back.
Can I have one last question before I go? Sure. Would it be a terrible idea to set a placeholder in the calendar. So you know I'm about to call you.
Yeah, I will do.
He's good here. He's learning some techniques. Would it be a crazy idea if we set up a time on the calendar so you don't have to chase me down and vice versa?
One last weird question before I got what's perfect.
Can I ask you one last weird question? Nobody's going to say no if you say, hey, let me ask you a question. They're going to get defensive or, hey, can I ask. Can I ask you one more question? Just real quick, man, I gotta go. But if I'm like, hey, can I ask you like, one last weird question before I go, it just triggers curiosity because, like, what the hell? It's really good. I like this.
What's your favorite food? Because I'll put that in the subject of the invite. You can never forget the call. Thank you very much.
