Seth Godin's story about kids lost in a forest: 95% wandered in circles, 5% picked a direction using the sun or a mountain. The difference between them is the same difference between drifting through your year and actually getting somewhere.

The great Seth Godin once told me a story about kids that were taken into the forest to see how they might react, what they might do. Would they recover? Would they find their way? I don't think you'd be shocked to hear that 95% of them walked in circles. Walked in circles endlessly and ultimately had to be saved. Only 5% of the people looked around and said, wait a minute. The sun set, the sun rise, the tallest mountain. They got a destination. They pointed towards something and said, let's go that way. 5% of the people know exactly where they're going. 95% walk aimlessly in circles. On this Monday, as you think about the balance of this year and what you want to accomplish in 2026, do not walk in circles. Point and go.
